This week she and her son Jason travelled from their home in Canada to the Hills for White Ribbon Week.

They have been guests of The Lisa Harnum Foundation, a Hills-based organisation for domestic violence victims set up in Lisa’s name by Aileen Mountifield.

At the White Ribbon breakfast at Castle Hill RSL on Wednesday Mrs Harnum accepted the keys to the drop in centre for the Lisa Harnum Foundation fromSteven Leigh from QIC, the owners of Castle Towers, and thanked everyone involved in providing a safe haven and support for women trying to escape domestic violence.

‘When your daughter passes away it is a travesty, you wonder if they will be remembered,” she said


Yes Joan, your daughter Lisa will always be remembered.

White Ribbon: Hundreds take to Castle Hill's streets to take a stand against family and domestic violence

NEARLY 1000 community leaders and residents, of all ages, took a stand against family and domestic violence this morning, by taking part in The Hills' inaugural March Against Violence.

Castle Towers' owners QIC handed the shelter’s keys to The Sanctuary board at White Ribbon breakfast at Castle Hill RSL, where the Lisa Harnum Foundation was also given keys.

BALCONY killer Simon Gittany has lodged his appeal against his conviction for the murder of his fiancee Lisa Harnum.

More than two years after Gittany, 42, was found guilty of throwing Ms Harnum off the 15th storey balcony of their CBD apartment, the appeal will have its first mention in the Court of Criminal Appeal next Thursday.

It is expected a hearing date will be fixed for later this year.

Oh for pete's sake! This is the type of barrister that makes my blood boil. They grasp at straws! This tragedy imo, was always an open and shut case, not many are.
There's video evidence of SG dragging Lisa into the apartment! In 69 seconds, she's thrown from the balcony to her death!!
The witness saw a bundle of something fall from the balcony at precisely the moment Lisa was thrown off! Did we need pictures of that too, to keep this ******* in jail?!!

If SG was a reasonable person, which he clearly is not, he would have let Lisa leave! What was he afraid of?! She'd leave him, of course!!! He knew he'd never get her back!!
