The lawyer brother of accused killer Chris Dawson has erupted outside court, moments after learning his brother will spend another weekend behind bars.
Peter Dawson has erupted outside court moments after his brother Chris, who was sensationally charged with the murder of his first wife Lyn, made a desperate bail bid.
Outside the court, his lawyer brother Peter Dawson lashed out at reporters, and accused one of assaulting him.
Peter Dawson previously told
The Daily Telegraph that
passports were not required to travel to New Zealand from Australia at the time of Ms Dawson’s disappearance, and suggested she may have gone there. This week, he told 7 News that Ms Dawson
may have been killed by notorious backpacker serial killer Ivan Milat.
The court heard that if the case went to trial it would not start until the year
2020 at the earliest, meaning Mr Dawson would be behind bars for at least 18 months without a conviction, if he is refused bail.
“We don’t know where Lyn is. I hope she is living happily somewhere in the world,” he said.
