Mr Dawson, 70, was granted bail in Sydney Central Local Court last Monday but remained behind bars in Silverwater Correctional Complex held up by paperwork, which was accepted today
.Accused killer Chris Dawson is expected to walk free from a Sydney jail and head home for Christmas, two weeks after he was charged with murder.

Chris Dawson expected to be released on bail today
It may have been accepted but it still has to be processed* :D

(*Ex-public servant here. You know how ‘they’ say the wheels of justice turn slowly...)

Airfares will be a bit expensive. The eve of Christmas on short notice. He may have to go on standby.:p

Events haven’t proceeded as smoothly as the Dawsons are accustomed, have they?

IMO someone has been looking after them all these years and maybe that someone has been put on notice and hogtied.

You mean now everything’s by the book? About bloody time!

Geez...I almost forgot about flexitime! What if there’s only one administration officer left in the office after lunch today? Eek! Dawson might be eating his Christmas lunch inside yet.

Well, even if he gets out in time for Christmas, people are going to be looking at him differently now ... everywhere he goes, within his 20km perimeter.
Out on bail for the murder of your first wife. Not a good look for anyone.

IMO there's no other reason unless they are coated in teflon.
(bolded for a reason)
It's gotta come out who was keeping any wolves at bay.

I'd like to know if any of them had access to a boat.

I thought everything Govt. was closed Christmas eve.

CD said at one time Lyn had $500 cash and another that she had clothes that she was going to exchange. Was it ever said what Lyn was wearing when he claims he dropped her at the bus stop?
From memory I think he said shorts and a t-shirt-from the podcast.

I wonder if bribes were offered to police in the early days as it often looks like that to me.

It's a damn shame Lynette didn't have a friend that stood up and shook the tree.
I've been reading up on Chris Watts who murdered his pregnant wife and two children, he could have got away with a very similar story that Dawson told BUT the wife had an incredible friend who called the police.

The crime, interviews, arrest and court case was amazingly documented so much that all police should have it all as a training video.

I'm thinking the same thing.

UBM

The 70-year old former Newtown Jets rugby league player, was bundled into a waiting silver Porsche driven by his brother Peter Dawson, the pair headed to Mr Dawson’s home in Coolum on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast.

Apparently, Lyn did have a friend who kept on nagging at her police friend about it (I think it might have been Sue Strath). When her police friend became of high enough rank later, he pulled strings to reopen the case.
I will have to look for the links a bit later. I was just reading about this the other day.
