‘He will certainly appeal’: Chris Dawson’s lawyer says jail will be ‘hard’ for the convicted murderer
Chris Dawson's lawyer has revealed the convicted murderer is "not doing well" after he was found guilty of murdering his wife Lynette Dawson four decades ago, informing the public of plans to appeal the NSW Supreme Court ruling.startsat60.com
Defence barrister Greg Walsh told reporters Dawson was “very upset” by yesterday’s verdict,
Walsh asserted that it wouldn’t be right to send Dawson to jail, considering the health issues the former school teacher is currently facing.
“He’s been diagnosed with dementia,” Walsh said.
“Jail will be much harder for him … he’s got problems with his hips and knees too.”

If he had been in jail the last 40 years, perhaps they would release him in his old age.![]()

Well. It is Chris Dawson's fault that he is facing prison at this time in his life. He can hardly complain, he should have given himself up 40 years ago. No point whinging now. Nobody's problem except his.Does Mr Walsh think that prisons are not able to look after convicted prisoners with medical conditions???
Prisoners get some of the best medical care, far better than what you receive in a public hospital today!
I believe NSW has a fairly standard 20 year sentence for murder.Well, cry me a river! I'm sure there are incarceration facilities that are a good match for his needs.
BTW, does Australia have mandatory sentencing for murder? What should we expect in that regard?

He would have wrung them from her cold dead hands... the petty meanness of these brothers was a talking point around the Rugby fields.OMG here he admits the diamond from Lyn’s engagement and eternity rings were used in JC’s!
Thanks!Episode 18 of the Teacher's Trial is up.
It is just a 3 minute announcement that Dawson was found guilty. Thanks!
Looking forward to listening to it later today.
Oh sorry the 3 minute bit didn't register on my brainIt is just a 3 minute announcement that Dawson was found guilty.
