Inside the relationship between murderer Chris Dawson and his twin Paul

Behind a paywall, I think. Just posting it here for those who can access.
Pretty lurid stuff, about passing girls around and alleged goings on at school.
thanks for thelink toots.
Paul Dawson told the court that on Christmas Day he recalled speaking to Lynette and she was upbeat about her marriage.
It was good,” Mr Dawson said when asked by crown prosecutor Craig Everson about the state of his brother’s marriage in late 1981.
“Chris was being very positive towards it. I spoke to Lyn on Christmas Day, she was very positive about it. They were both looking forward to the future.”

sure paul sure... ..I am sure Lyn was very upbeat on xmas day while her husband had absconded to qld with his child lover and returned to hide in YOUR house that very day .....you were actually keeping chris and joanne locked in the wardrobe while you were having this marvellous conversation with lynette....hmm....

Paul Dawson what a disgusting liar you are.

In NSW it is mandatory life for murder. No ifs, or buts. That's the sentence. After that, the discussion centres around what point the prisoner can begin to apply for bail. In NSW, that's 20 years for a murderer. No ifs, or buts, that's the program. Man, Woman, black white or piebald.

It would actually require an Act of Parliament, specifically for Chris Dawson to have anything less than the set amount, ( Life ) and the set amount of years to serve (20 ) before granted the permission to apply for parole.

Very few murderers get parole at the 20 yr mark in NSW. Some, with a mercy provision by Parliament, not by the prison board of correction , are allowed out to die, but this is at the ambulance stage of dying. Chris Dawson may, in time get this, but there are at present 7 blokes and 2 women in prison 70 - 80 who are still confined, and who are eligible to apply for bail, but bail has not been granted. (( Goulburn and Silverwater ( for the ladies)

Then there are the folks who are never to be released, never to receive parole. Dawson won't be among that lot, I don' t think. But I could be wrong on that. Some cranky judge might hurl the book at him!
Will a different judge handle the sentencing phase?

Will a different judge handle the sentencing phase?
No , MJ, but it could be a different judge that adjudicates Dawson's inevitable appeal. I'd go so far as to say that it will be a different judge on that occasion., probably much to Judge Harrisons relief.

The judge, Harrison in this case, doesn't have to start from scratch to arrive at a number of years, he already starts off with Life Sentence, for murder. In NSW. The only leeway the judge has is when Dawson can front up for parole.

The judge can add another 10 years to the 20 yr limit set already. Lots of judges do exactly that, but this is where Dawson's age will be a factor.

Which, I think, it should not be. He should be sentenced as if he was still the age he murdered Lynn! ..

Lynette was murdered in January 1982. Amazingly it states Paul was allegedly up to no good in July 1982…6 months later! Far out…a law unto their sick selves.

From above article
In July 1982, when Alice was 17 but still at school, he allegedly began arranging for her to have sex with other men. It’s alleged Alice once went to Paul Dawson’s home when his wife, Marilyn, and the couple’s young children weren’t home.

Detectives who investigated Lynette Dawson case believe they know where the body is buried

Detectives who investigated the murder of Lynette Dawson believe her husband Chris buried her body somewhere on the state’s Central Coast, it can be revealed.

Homicide squad boss Detective Superintendent Danny Doherty said police remained looking for Ms Dawson’s body.

“Our efforts and inquiries to find Lyn’s remains are ongoing and we once again urge anyone with information which may assist us to get in touch,” he said.

“After a journey of more than 40 years, we hope to give Lyn’s family the chance to say goodbye.”

The thing that gets me about these guys is the complete disrespect for women.
Not only the DV and cheating and murdering and cover up.
But how would they like it if other men did this to their own daughters?
They were doing all this to someone else's daughters.

(I don't know if Paul has a daughter, but hypothetically if he doesn't.)

Exactly South Aussie! CD and PD both have 3 daughters each and also granddaughters. Just sickening.

If I was to hazzard a guess I would say their thinking is somewhere close to Lake Munmorah but before South West Rocks. Probably closer to Lake Munmorah.

I think Central Coast ends just before Newcastle so maybe not that high up.

His own daughters were scarred for life by the deeds of their father.

The children once had a loving mother. What an indescribable loss for two innocent children.

Thank you Trooper. I trust there are no grounds for an appeal.

Whatever sentence Dawson gets . which I believe will not be under 20 years, and possibly more, NSW Supreme Court will have to add another 5 years, or even 10, since he is twice a bigamist. 5 Years is the minimum for Bigamy in Au...

Dawson , of course, is in no position to be granted a discount on his sentence, he pleaded not guilty, forced the court to pony up with all the preposterous costs and charges a Supreme Court not guilty plea carries with it, abrogated to himself acres of court time, and police time, security time, Dept. of Public Prosecution time, when he could have pled guilty..

He not only gambled on a judge only trial, he gambled on a really frail grasp of what constitutes circumstantial evidence, his brother should have explained it better.

So no discount. What ever it is, that's what he'll be serving.
I certainly hope so.
The creep needs to spend the rest of his life in prison.

Glad the police haven't given up looking but more and more I favour the theory that Chris used the rubbish tip where he worked as the dumping ground for Lyn's body. If that is the case, she is lost forever, regardless of whether Dawson confirms it or not.

The bail hearing is today and I think there will be an uproar if he is granted bail.

Can't see Dawson receiving anything other than 20 years, when it comes to sentencing.

They only had one thing on their minds at the time. The grubs never grew up. TWIN 1 and TWIN 2 didn't mature far beyond speaking their own language to each other as kids.

Though we keep looking at the age of these students to assess the level of criminality in the way they have been treated.. it is my belief that sexual exploitation and sexual trafficking of anyone is illegal.. and most certainly for people under one's Duty Of Care as a teacher.. provision of alcohol and drugs to people under your Duty of Care is not permitted.. sexual exploitation is much broader than "the day it happened".. ensnaring a victim is sexual exploitation (grooming)..
CD and his "lovely drink" indicates to me that he was well aware of how to exploit and subdue people with substances..
Whether these young people were 15, 16, 17 or 18.. they had the right to be safe and protected from predators.. the charismatic twins and their predatory mates, have chosen time and again to injure and destroy the goodness in vulnerable people..

Corrective Services sources told The Daily Telegraphunder anonymity that Dawson is considered a “suicide risk”.

“There were repeated and specific suicide threats during the assessment process,” the source said.

“There was also concern that he would be the target of other inmates due to the high-profile nature of the case and his well-documented relationship with a schoolgirl.

“Officers raised concerned that he would be dead by Friday if not placed in the specialist management and protection program where he can be monitored 24 hours a day.”

Still refusing to take the consequences of his actions.. no remorse.. still believing he is the victim.. sickening really
