Mrs Dawson #3's name is Sue I think.

Whether she has bailed on Chris over this is an interesting question.

I'm still not sure how significant the cuts in the cardigan are?

Assuming Lyn's body was buried near the pool, and after Damien Loone's perhaps near miss, maybe Chris did move her.

However, that Chris kept revisiting the home after he'd sold it, and asked 'where are you digging,' gives me hope Lyn is still there somewhere.

I think Chris's problem was his concern that he left traces of the original burial behind. or traces of the murder...not so much the burial. I swing between two points of view!.. it is the trademark of your regular ditz.

Could he sell up, leave that place with Lynns' body there, the ultimate pointer to his crime?.. the destruction of his story of the man of the cult whom she went with?

The one thing that would blow everything up, his marriage to Joanne, his status, his parents, his particular ability to remain offended by Lynn to Lynn's parents and family, the devotion of his older brother and that brothers firm belief in him? …

I have trouble placing faith in that scenario. .

I felt she might have kicked him out after the nice significant anniversary holiday they had in Fiji just before his 70th birthday in July (and Paul's of course). They were definitely living in Noosa and the ACA mentioned them living near each other on the Gold Coast.

Interesting that it is now, unequivocally and categorically, claimed to be a murder, by the NSW police... now.. the murder of Lynette Dawson, and not the disappearance of...

NSW Police are examining “anomalies” in the grounds of the former Sydney home of missing woman Lynette Dawson, as they hunt for her remains.

Homicide Squad Commander Detective Superintendent Scott Cook says officers will conduct a “hand dig” and feed the resulting material into a sifter.

Police began digging at the property on Sydney’s northern beaches today and expect to be there for at least five days.

“We will go until we hit rock,” Det Sup Cook said today. “Previously when we conducted examinations here, there was a number of anomalies in the ground. They were inspected previously. We’ll revisit them.”

This was the lead story on the 12 o'clock news on the radio (I was driving to get lunch) and the police spokesman referred to it as "the murder of Lynette Dawson".

That had my attention straight away, and regardless of what conservative Cowdrey thinks, this is a murder case.

it is a major change of label, isn't it, Mr Hardy?... significant, and , just as significant, requiring some sort of expiation, some sort of explanation in the nature of culpability from Cowdery and Whats'shisname, both NSW Directors DPP.

And it could be argued that it doesn't matter anymore, Lynn is long dead, and that cant be changed, but it would be radical to simply ride over the very obvious reluctance to dig deeper ( no pun intended) in the matter over the years... the reason for the reluctance really needs to be examined and held up to public scrutiny, finally.

“Today we are digging in four areas; a small area at the back of the house between the rock and the building, another area in the back yard near the clothes line, another area a little further up in the back yard and around the pool area."

"The search is expected to take at least five days".

In crime novels, and in real life, there is always a point where accomplices, those that know the details decide enough is enough... they can see the outcome , with it's consequent criminal charges, public disgrace, etc all looming up, with dreaded inevitability and things begin to crack and split, even the strongest of bonds...

It has never sat straight with me, that only Chris knows it all. It defies reason that Paul knows nothing. not with the lifelong unbreakable bond between them. Paul may even be the guiding hand in it all.. it's not improbable.....

but in the end, and it is approaching that tipping point, someone decides to blab and blab and blab and blab!!.. my money is on Marilyn!...

Can someone please refresh my memory of where Chris was living at the time that he asked the new owners of where they have been digging?

He was still with Joanne at that point, he took Joanne and the kids with him on that visit, so I am assuming he was by then living on the Gold Coast , teaching at the high school there, ( and following the same pattern) .. then when JOanne and he split up, he married a teacher from that high school, and she didn't get on with Marilyn and Paul, so Chris and the new third wife , Sue, moved to Yeppoon, where he taught at the girls college..

I welcome corrections!.
