In crime novels, and in real life, there is always a point where accomplices, those that know the details decide enough is enough... they can see the outcome , with it's consequent criminal charges, public disgrace, etc all looming up, with dreaded inevitability and things begin to crack and split, even the strongest of bonds...

It has never sat straight with me, that only Chris knows it all. It defies reason that Paul knows nothing. not with the lifelong unbreakable bond between them. Paul may even be the guiding hand in it all.. it's not improbable.....

but in the end, and it is approaching that tipping point, someone decides to blab and blab and blab and blab!!.. my money is on Marilyn!...

he used to do drive bys when they came back to Sydney for visits and the new owner said one day chris approached him when he was working in the yard and chris asked him what alterations he had done and supsequently what digging.

Known that renovations were going on at his old home you mean?

Chris was known to go past the property every time he was in town. In the podcasts there are mentions of him going on runs past the house when he was there. Besides which, he could have been keeping in touch with former neighbours who might have made mention of it.

was very interesting the interview Hedley did with the new owner.
the wife spoke on behalf of her and her husband but they had lots of relevant tidbits to add.
at least one occasion if not two chris approached the husband about activities on the property. and he asked if he could wander around and have a look which the husband thought strange but said ok but didn't follow him.

It's very rough, rocky terrain. I drove past a few weeks ago whilst I was at Mona Vale.......Lyn could be anywhere around there. I also wondered if she may have been dumped in the ocean???

couldn't have lived in a more remote area of sydney if you tried.
if she is on the property he thought he could control the narrative but then I don't think he would have sold up??
but maybe after several years he figured it had all been forgotten and he had gotten away with it.
free to move on and upgrade . I guess being there he was reminded of what he had done constantly.

but with the national park being so close and him being alone for 24 hours it has to be a possibility lyns close but not that close.

him wanting to know where the new owner was digging is pretty telling imo though that she is indeed on the property.

Those cadaver dogs the police use are uncanny at sniffing out human remains, even if the remains have been buried. Surely the police have/will employ them in those areas if they don't find Lyn's body on the property?

Yeah, after a few years of little more than pats on the back for his tragic loss, Chris must have thought he was bulletproof. So even though with the advantage of hindsight moving might have seemed a gamble, at the time Chris probably thought he was 'home free'.
