Don't forget with regard to DNA and the cardi there may be more evidence afoot. Does anyone else remember the forensic expert offering her services free of charge to retest the cardigan. She said in her opinion with the advancement in technology she would find it highly doubtful if she didn't find mitochondrial DNA. I was left with the impression that that was going to happen. My brain is working overtime trying to remember which radio interview this was discussed.

im not sure if spelling is right.
that's just what I heard Hedley introduce her to us in the podcast as.

I meant topost that too .
she has offered to re do the dna she is confident that improvements in technology will be fruitful.

we can assume surely the strikforce has taken her up.

well haven't we heard this one before???
exactly the same!!
Husband reveals he is a suspect in wife's 1973 disappearance

another story of precisely the same old school acceptance of the husbands she ran of.

again the police are on to it NOW.
better late than never.

adding it because it highlights a disturbing pattern of complacency with police procedure at the time.
Off topic but it looks like a man has been arrested today for this crime according to twitter!
Police arrest man over cold case murder

Hedley and the Australian has been very generous with the info they have provided.
its all public record stuff but the way they have brought it all together is marvellous.
just so much to delve into!

I've been following this other case for a couple of days. Wife disappeared 45 years ago and a search has been going on for a few days now.
Didn't say if they'd found anything but the husband has now been arrested after showing police where he said her remains are.

"FORTY-FIVE years after young mother Colleen Adams went missing from her Yorke Peninsula home, her husband has been charged with murder after taking Major Crime detectives to the spot where her remains are believed to be buried"

Just a week ago he was denying everything. I wonder why he would confess now.
Grrr on getting away with something for 45 years.

Have you made a thread for Colleen, Tootsie?

Thanks Morrisa, No I haven't.
I wonder if someone else could do it ? I had a go at it but failed. Probably due to a huge migraine.

Awww thanks so much, Morrisa ! You're the best :)

I feel like such an idiot today. So I stayed home away from people LOL.

Her body is still around , somewhere !.. somewhere close, not distant, he had two little girls asleep at home, so he wasn't driving the body down to Cooma , or up to Grafton.. no.. Lynne's body is somewhere within the geoprofile of someone who has to set out, and get back within a rigid timeframe, an out and back journey, within the periphery of the murder itself. Sunset and sunup are the very outer limits of his timing, too .

So the following day if on the Friday 8 January, maybe even the same day on the Saturday 9 January, he goes to work with his kids, lets his mate Phil Day drive his mother-in-law home with his kids back to the in laws place. He drives to the Central Coast on 10/11 January to pick up Joanne.

I wondered if the cardigan may have been washed (I do struggle with that possibility given washing is woman's work), as there were up to 16 cut marks on it but no DNA. Wouldn't want to get any stains in the car.

Has anyone noticed that page 36 of Marilyn Dawson's 1999 police statement transcript is missing? Puzzle.

Yes! Perhaps it was too sensitive- might have been about her own marriage?

Yes, I noticed that and wondered about it too. I forgot to bring it up so I'm glad you mentioned it. Do any of you who live more locally have someone to contact and ask about it?

I've read a few and have Chris' from 1991 handy. I'll upload it here for easy access.

TY for this. It's different from the one I have in that the text is extracted. Not sure if I'm explaining this correctly, but the PDFs I have are basically images. Did you do something to convert the text?

The reason I ask is I use a text to speech app so I can listen instead of read long documents/articles and I'd love to have all of the PDF in this format.

So pleased it has been noticed as Hedley seemed to flow smoothly over it in podcast, perhaps you are right about sensitive stuff!
