Also can we talk about how on earth their marriage has survived or is surviving this?! If he were my husbo I woulda kicked him to the curb loooong ago. And if I hadn’t I definitely would have after February!
…unless of course she forms a vital part of the “duo”…

Course you would. I would have too. But whatever you think of Mrs, it's clear that she is not as confident and outgoing as her husband. She has also been with him since she was very young. She's never really worked, had a career, she's been "just a mum" dependent on him for income. And we've all seen the lack of respect Mr shows to women in general. A lifetime of being told you're useless, lucky to have him, that nobody else would want you, stupid, incompetent etc etc etc grinds women down. Yes some snap and those are the ones who are up in court for murder and it all comes out that he's been tracking her phone and isolating her from her friends for decades. But for every one done for murder how many are just living quietly, accepting this is their lot in life and preferring to turn a blind eye to the lies and affairs because being with this man is less scary than the idea of having to start again on your own.

I don't believe she is a co-conspirator. She does as she's told and doesn't ask questions. That doesn't make her innocent, but she's definitely not the driving force.

Personally if I was the Mrs and I new something (enough to pin him) I’d go for the reward and a divorce.

I missed the inquest today. Anyone have a short version update?

How on earth can they finish this up in two days?
I’m thinking the same. Watching snippets of him at todays inquest was torturous. I hope he comes clean with what really happened to MB and how many people he’s hurt and destroyed past and present. I feel sorry for all of those people who have had to sit in court today and watch this horrid human blabber on and on trying to weave himself out of so many lies!

Grasse is a long way from Montpelier.
...but it is close to Nice...he was asked where else he went during the time and he said Nice and "the famous perfume place".

......The Toyota Corona never shows as registered (on road able to be be driven type of registered ie with plates) to AKA but shows that he held an unregistered vehicle permit for it..... However, It could have been registered to DdH in 1997, prior to being issued an unregistered vehicle permit?

That is very interesting @gymtonic - so as @Eyespywithmylittleeye said, the Corona could be key

In any case, he certainly owned a lot of cars for someone who doesn't drive
Then his pension that funds his world trips also provides him with a Koleos

I have never heard of the word "Koleos" before so I looked it up on Google.

Koleos. The exact meaning behind the name of Renault's mid-size SUV is still a little unclear. The word reportedly means 'sheath' in Greek and 'testicle' in Latin. LOL

It sort of sounds like a romantic south of France whirlwind tour. Can he verify his travel companion/s, places he stayed etc?. another victim woman on tour possibly even Marion. His cousin might cover for him yes indeed! But a man going to south of France to all those places sounds a bit touristic especially the perfume tour:rolleyes:. Come on cuz let's go smell the roses?. More like let's go to Monte Carlo and find some wealthy ladies. Jean-Pierre might have been working in the hot food caravan at the fair grounds by the sea. JMI (all this is just my imagination top up my wine please!)

Hang on Diane! I'm going up to the Gold coast Markets for a coupla of days to see my ole mate coin man. oh ok bring home some bags of coins please dear.

Were Marion's bank accounts still in her Marion Barter name?

What is the significance of her having the same initials in her new Remakel name?

I am wondering about whether they will show the woman on the CCTV who used Marion's credit card. Sally said she looked like Marion.

My only assurance is what the US prosecutor/podcasters said about this case. The Remakel name irrevocably and eternally binds Marion and Wonka. This is circumstantial enough to bring a case of some sort against him. My hope is that Casselden is using this inquest to create a portrait of a man who lies, cheats, steals, and who cannot be trusted. Together with Marion's suspicious disappearance, by circumstance, the finger points to Wonka as GUILTY.

Funny how he could NEVER give any 'detals' (details) about his whereabouts or who he stayed with while visiting Europe in the past - but now he has a vivid and detailed list of his travels and the people he was with in 1997. Unfortunately old mate "Phonse" is dead, his other friend is dead and he's not sure if cousin JPCoppenolle is alive or dead. But geez he had a good time on the French Riviera at the Australian Taxpayers expense!

Fantasy Two: Wonka sold Marion's things. Something turned up, and trail leads back to him. His need to make a buck (er pound) no matter what, wheeler-dealer he is, bites his 🤬🤬🤬.

Is it possible Cassellden doesn't divulge everything he has pre-trial? Or must he, Australian jurisprudence experts?

My first post! This case is incredible - it's taken me weeks to catch up all the threads and listening to the podcasts. Am just listening to today's Inquest.

Wow - I'm only one hour in - he takes AGES to answer... twists, turns, contradicts self, says he misunderstood the question, was confused. He seems quite panicky and struggling for breath. 'I'm not right in my head any more, any longer, and, and [something] with my family', sounded v pathetic. Hope he's not going to expire on the stand. Is he finally breaking? Also he has flashes of anger, he shouted 'NO, I don't think so!' in a way that made me jump. Seemed very contemptuous of the court IMO.

Would his wife be able to claim the $500k if she knows things or would she be exempt?

Could she be offered some sort of deal to turn witness against him?

On whether she was seeing anyone else:

"She told me that the relationship she had was with someone at the school and that she also told me that she had many nights to employ a term of bacchanalia with the korean parents teachers and their friends where she was having asian food banquets." HUH? What on earth?

This was actually something I was wondering about...if a wife/son or daughter (of someone being questioned in a coronal inquest for example) provided information about Marion's disappearance, would they be entitled to the reward?

Do Forum Members here believe that Marion's belongings, in tea chests, were ever at his family home? As he says, in the garage along with the washing machine, gardening equipment, and items from his wife's mother's estate. A crowded garage? High risk to take possession of an ex lover's boxes then have her round the family home to collect them? More so, when she didn't have his home phone number. Were they ever there at all in everyone's opinion? Did Dianne say they were?
IIRC, Marion's family member(s), was it Sally and her husband perhaps, stated Marion's belongings were taken at some point by a professional moving company? That being the case, did they go somewhere else? To a shipping container facility that stored / took them overseas perhaps? To a European port? Or to a storage facility within Aus that WW then plundered? Or they actually went to WW's garage?

He said several times they contained 'didactic material' that Marion wanted for starting her school in England. So, clearly the scam lure was that he would buy a school in England for her to run / teach at with him ?

That exactly what I think. When RB says Marion told him she was going to buy a school, I think that was the scam he used on her. Let's move to Europe and buy a school together. It would explain why he would need Marion's money and why she might be willing to give it to him-if she thought they were buying a school together. I could see how that would be appealing to a teacher.
