I'm going to throw a wild theory out there. Is it possible that he could have disguised himself as, or impersonated a woman at some point?

Edit: wording and MOO
I thought the photo was a female victim too. I think because of his height and broadness it would be difficult to impersonate a woman ?

Maybe if he was 30 cm shorter! I would think his height would make him stand out for a second, closer look and thus not pass muster.

Definitely dyes his hair, look at those dark roots.

Same nose, same lips, same hairline looking at his recent photos at inquest

He is a man of many IDs, disguising himself would be part of it all.

He does have quite a deep, gravelly voice too. Hmm.

Honestly, at this point though, I wouldn't be surprised if it was revealed that he was impersonating women!

Edit: Grammar, MOO

On FB, there’s two real interesting posts by Joni on Sally’s MPMB page.

One is that they’re asking anyone with knowledge of Bali to come forward, particularly with knowledge of a temple/burial site there.

The other is reminding us that in court, when asked what he did during his visit to Europe in June/July 1997, RB said he was with his friend Alphonse in France and they went to an old hospital turned museum. It’s like a curiosity shop full of weird and macabre things.

Gosh. The plot thickens.

Might we have a serial k on our hands???

True dat! I‘m even going a bit gaga and suspecting that he has told someone in Australia that he was present at the signing of the Vanuatu Consitution at L’Houstalet Restaurant in 1980 and dined there on Rousette (fruit bat)! It’s just the sort of quirky Walter Mitty he would collect and tell if the time and place was right!

And the bank manager said MB said she was going to Bali to find herself...
Makes no sense it being the real MB though. Europe and the Orient Express was the dream. You wouldnt go all that way for only a few weeks and then come back to Aus, only to fly to Bali, literally on your doorstep.

I think the key reason MB returned to Australia was that the change of name to Florabella impeded her ability to withdraw her Australian 'Marion' funds whilst overseas.

I think he told her the plans may be changing and they needed to come back to Aus in order to travel to Bali for a period of time. The funds therefore needed for the Bali trip before settling back in Europe.

The purchase of the car ... perhaps he needed to move something...

i’m now finding it really hard to wrap my head around the idea the family didn’t know.

The Lady Vanishes FB Page....
So according to the TLV, this is from Belgian police? And yet this does not look like a mug shot taken in connection to detention for a crime does it? Mug-shots are usually taken unsmiling and against a height marker. So what is the provenance of this photo? IMO we can discount impersonating a woman in the flesh because of his height….BUUT….could this be an online dating profile image obtained by Belgian police??!! just a thought MOO

This photo of Ric Blum in the early 2000s is courtesy of Yannick from the Luxembourg Times/Luxemburger Wort. It’s understood Guislaine received it from Belgium Police.

TLV FB Page

I dont think he would post his mug all over a dating sight.

More like a victim took it and on police file

Heavy disguise? False name? Untraceable to his usual appearance until many years after? Even we don’t recognise him from this!

100% they knew so much.

I call BS on the downtrodden Di.
They moved every year or 2, kids in every comp going, travelled and lived in various countries, Uni fees, he travelling up to 5 times or more a year, so much more that cant be shared here because we cant sleuth family BUT ......you dont get to hang out with the rich and famous IF you dont come from wealth..... just saying....
IMO

Some form of ID picture? Not a passport presumably due to the smile (ick) but some other type of ID given the neutral background? Coin related?

Why does this suddenly have Robert Durst vibes written all over it?

(Someone mic him up in a police bathroom. ;))

Wonder if he’s been involved with the Royal Numismatic Society of Belgium.

From MBFB page

"
When I first saw this image a while ago, I thought it was another woman involved Ric that we needed to find ! .. but then I took a closer look with my glasses on !!

When you line up his passport photos in date order along with a new identity/name on each, this person would not be linked with the person you last saw or dealt with whatsoever - hair style & colour, facial hair, skin colour and even the design of his glasses, all totally different to one another with every new passport.

So much effort, for what purpose ?"

I am now even more certain that this missing person may be related to this mess: 2626DFBEL - Georgette Van Acker

Georgette Van Acker from Bourg-Léopold, was last seen on Monday, 22 March 1999 at Lille train station (France). She may have taken a train to Anvers. (This lady was 64).

Clothing: Beige colored trousers and a pullover or jacket
Jewelry: Unknown
Additional Personal Items: Georgette was carrying a suitcase on two wheels
I wonder if this lines up with any of his trips over there?
