It is possible that Sally doesn’t want this streamed remembering this is the first time she will be hearing directly from RB and the closest she has come it’s a lot to digest.
That wouldn't be a valid legal reason for closing the court.

Watching this footage made me sick. If he pulls some bs too old to stand trial or memory loss bs I wouldn’t be surprised. I have this gut feeling he will be a fraudster to the grave
So truePossibly - but sometimes conmen cannot resist a little bit of indulgence in how successful they have been...
Yes he did! But that also could be because it’s the first time he has done a high profile case that could potentially hit screens worldwide and become podcast etc. It would be such a weird feeling.
I would suggest it is due to preserve the ability of a fair trial, should it ensue. That wouldn't be a valid legal reason for closing the court.

Her search and life has been so very public that much and all as I like all of us are busting to hear what RB and Diane have to say.. for Sally this isn’t curiousity or websleuthing it’s her mum.

I kind of expected him to dress a bit more suave and European. Still having the image of a successful businessman who travels etc. Not some regular degula aussie retiree who shows up at the RSL at 4pm for the $8 roast beef special.
On the topic of security envelopes for those who asked...
Casselden went on about them, in detail but did not explain or insinuate their meaning. It was simply to determine that RB had many, throughout the years. Some where in his and Dianne's name, and then were in his name only. Casselden tried to get to the bottom of what size they were, to get an idea of what could be put in them.
We learned that RB used the CBA and that he had one on 14 Oct 1997 (something like that). That's pretty much all that was said.
What is interesting is that the podcast revealed that the inquest brief of evidence contains a CBA document that a 'electronic funds transfer' was made in the 14 Oct 1997 in relation to Marion. We don't know anymore.
We suspect that due to being the same date, Marion's transfer and RB's securities envelope might have something to do with each other.
If anyone else has more, please elaborate![]()
I imagine his lawyer told him to dress down, look regular and unassuming, and not give any indication of being suaveI kind of expected him to dress a bit more suave and European. For your reference (Casselden it not Sally's lawyer):
Adam Casselden – representing the Coroner, puts the inquest together and presents it to the court
Bradley Smith from Addisons – representing Sally Leydon, family of missing person Marion Barter
Kim Burke – representing NSW Police Commissioner, Garry Sheehan and Graham Childs
Bridget Kennedy – representing Ric Blum
Sam Saadat – representing the de Hedervary's, Dianne (nee Walker) and children Maite Chusan and David Gordon.

Thank you Peralta, that's really useful. So I guess the implication is that one of these envelopes ties him to Marion or one of the bank transfers?
P.s. the Latin meaning of your name is not lost on me...!
