I'm not totally convinced the payments from AG to MC were for actual "rent" ..... You can write anything on a bank transfer..... I would like to see those payments investigated further....
Do you have a link for the part where MC asked AG for a loan as I haven't read that? Thanks
I’ve discussed this not too long ago & attached articles but it could have been in the threads that got shut down.

The money transferred was in amongst bank statements for MC in one of the early affidavits that is now not publicly available.

Yes I have a copy of the affidavits and know about the money transfers..... It was the "asking AG for a loan" that I was interested in .... Thanks

I don't think the parents knew either....

Unless the parents and the son have it in writing, signed by a JP that they actually do have a 1% interest in the property, they get nothing. In any case, they will be lucky to get 1% of the value of the property, because that 1% will be divided up among creditors of the estate, of which the parents, the brother, and the son are merely ciphers.,. one among many. 72 at the last count. So that would entitle them to, perhaps, 1/72th of 1 %.

They will need a fired up solicitor and maybe even a barrister for that dogfight, which would cost a hair raising amount. It would be a very silly barrister in deed who took this matter on a 'win only fee, lose no cost 'arrangement.. They are rather thin on the ground around Sydney.

I think she was cunning enough, considering what we know in the light of disclosures of former friends and those so expertly fleeced by Melissa, that she was meticulous in getting nothing in writing about any shared ownership of either of those properties. As for the original money the parents 'invested' with Melissa, well. .. as is now known , there were no investments, on any one 's behalf , at any time. ..

The only 1% I have seen in writing is AG's 1% of the Dover Heights Property - it's on the Title Deed....
AG has stated via his lawyer that he is not claiming on the 1% of that property..... (that was before MC's death, so that may change now, depending on MC's Will, and who the executors are?? )

The Title Deed of the Edgecliff Property (Parents home) only has MC's name on the deed..... so it will be interesting to see how this plays out? And how they fight it, if they do??? An interesting legal argument may be coming up???

Out there, down in the CBD is an ambitious solicitor edging to take this on, arguing that Melissa bought the Edgecliff property with stolen funds, the 'tenants' who thought they had contributed to the deposit have nothing in writing, and there fore his clients are up for charging the tenants, mum, dad, bro, for 6 years rent at $2000 a week, cheap at twice the price payable within 3 weeks.

Bold & brazen and probably thought she would outlive everyone and nobody would ever find out.

Bold & brazen and probably thought she would outlive everyone and nobody would ever find out.
see, this is the bit that baffles me. There was only three ways for her scheme to end. The world had to blow up and everyone evaporated... her clients all dropped dead on the same day, leaving no pesky heirs. . or she became deceased.

That is how her money scheme, a very simple , yet highly complicated tontine/ponzi scam came to it's conclusion. Her business plan could not sustain itself. Anyone can see that.

One thing for sure is, she left a lot of misery around, far more that her fair share.

The parents didn’t only invest money, the main issue is that they gave her daughter the proceeds of the Lugano property to put down on the Edgecliffe mortgage , yet they were tenants of the property.

Also I’d bet that if anyone close to her had any inkling that something wasn’t quite right (not that they knew necessarily but there were alarm bells) then I’m betting Anthony Caddick would have been quite suspicious.... IMO

I wonder how many "alarm bells" went off with the benefit of hindsight???

Maybe she was banking on a great, big, investment win somewhere along the line and she could pay everyone back but at her rate of spending, it was most likely impossible.

I don’t know if Anthony would have been suss, she might have made out that she had that $80million+ career windfall when they met. I do think that brother should have been suspicious though, he works in finance too doesn’t he?

I think the father in law was mighty suspicious, but even he could not have imagined the scale of the scam. And what could he have said? Nothing that would take away the Audi from Anthony.. Anthony would never have been in any mood to listen to any of that kind of stuff.

Even when they got the horrible early morning banging on the door.. 'ello, ello, ello it's the AFP , folks' , Anthony was still telling friends ( 'investors' ) ' everything's all right, it's all in trust..'... None so blind as those that will not see.

Didn't I read somewhere that she had actually FORGED her father in law's signature .. was it on the loan for the Edgecliff property?..

Melissa Caddick’s parents fight to keep Edgecliff home from creditors | Daily Telegraph
Red R can you please tell me where you read that Melissa's Safety Boxes (plural) had been seized please? The ASIC Affidavit mentions one safety box being seized.....

The affidavit does mention "safety boxes" but only the NAB one being seized...

I am most interested in the Safety Deposit Boxes.....hence my question.... as I also thought MC may have had one with a Private Firm that allowed 24 hour access...

Many thanks
Yes SLouTh I read it on a a Facebook group around Christmas time, I was asking the question about the possibility of MC storing assets, gold, diamonds and papers) apart from the ones she had shredded) somewhere in Sydney CBD, I believe Custodian Vaults may have been mentioned, and CommSec. MC also had a PO Box in Melbourne. If she did use any of the storages facilities in the CBD, that have bimetric and other 24 hour security. I hope ALL of them have been explored. I would love to know what's inside ???
Paraphrased...

Melissa's parents are trying to stake a claim on their own apartment to avoid becoming homeless if it is seized by her creditors.

Barbara and Ted Grimley sold their home in Connells Point in Sydney’s south for $1.55m in 2017, and have been living in the penthouse apartment in Edgecliff.

Melissa's parents believed they significantly contributed to the purchase of the $2.55m unit in Sydney’s east with the proceeds of the Connells Point sale.

Between December and last month, Ms Caddick’s elderly parents placed three caveats over their apartment in Edgecliff to stop it being sold under their noses.

Liquidators have also placed caveats on the Edgecliff apartment.

Don’t believe so.

Signature dated 24/01/16
No power of attorney stamp allegedly
Also if you look further back Melissa wasn’t even in Australia on that date. For clues see one of Estelle’s timelines with travel dates

Singapore-based SBTV exposes the shady forces behind BullionReviews.com. We share the results of our investigative efforts and explain why Bullion Reviews is not just an irritation for bullion dealers in Singapore, but also misleading for the public and bad for the credibility of the gold and silver industry as a whole. BullionStar, a Singapore-based precious metals dealer, was found to be the operator of this bullion reviews website. In the context of this video, when we refer to Floriano Solijon as an employee, we mean it in a generic sense that he worked under the direction of BullionStar for an extended period of time in exchange for payment. I have included Singapore because MC's brother worked there.
Dont forget diamonds are a girls best friend. How easy is it to move them around, .. a little too easy I think.

I think if you go back to the last 60 Minutes eps, the reporter asks Roddo's signature, he said he didnt sign it I think from memory he didnt have his power of attorney details, so minime9 that is correct.
