Embroidery? OK. O/T: So long as I'm not mentioned in your knitting.
He won't try to get you stitched up, sew don't worry, fabrication isn't his thing and neither of you could wear it.

Took me a while to cotton on to what you were talking about.

It's hard to pin point things on this thread at times. So much talk of material gains and losses.

But patterns emerge and as I cut away the unnecessary, snippets appear and things begin to take shape.

I've sized things up. Mannequin think what they want but I'm no dummy, though at times a bit stuffed if my buttons are pressed.

Just making casual conversation, attire quickly of anything too formal. Doesn't suit me.

Besides the grieving part..
You would think so, yes. I was referring specifically to his financial state, to clarify.

Considering what happened to the parents I doubt it. He didn’t have access to MC’s cash. They didn’t share accounts, and the only account he had access to as a secondary card holder was an Amex credit card.

Allegedly when he worked all of his pay went into MC’s account (helped pay for the Audi I guess). Not sure how true that is, but it wouldn’t surprise me.

However he should be able to access Centrelink now, he at least didn’t lose millions of his own money & he also has a trade, good work reputation with clients that love his hairdressing work & if he wanted to do that again I’m sure he’d have no problem finding a job.

After time I think he’ll be fine.

No, it's real knitting. I've seen it.

The son will be fine. His father is a corporate lawyer & will probably be able to keep attending the school he’s at.

Even AG will probably be ok, but he’ll have to lower his expectations a lot.

Im specifically referring to the parents who are in their 80s. They are about to lose their house and everything. Their super has probably gone too & they’ll be trying to rent a place and having to relocate somewhere else with no money and between them only $718 a week for rent, food, bills & relocation costs. They can’t exactly go and side hustle

*Edited for current rate.
Maybe the sons education is paid from the Education Trust. I noticed that the ABN is still active.

Is it true that MCs parents are ‘furious’ at ASIC about their investigation? Or is it absolute rubbish?

That statement does not appear to be consistent with other posted articles.
That article is nonsense.

Those flowers were delivered to Dover Heights.
I have previously read that the parents blame ASIC but am having trouble finding articles from a credible news source. If i come across one I’ll post it.

Yes, I understand what they are, I’ve just had a dance with them as the executor of an estate.

MC’s parents claim of equity must have been accepted (at least for this purpose) otherwise tenants could place caveats on any property based on the 9/10ths rule...imagine that in the Sydney property market
I didn't say anything about the 9/10ths rule (possession). Lodging an unjustified caveat could be costly; subject to challenge in court and may give rise to damages.

I feel very sorry for MC's parents being duped by their own daughter then later told that she might be dead. They would have had very mixed emotions.

When I think about MC buying the Edgecliff apartment in 2016 BEFORE her parents sold their house at Connells Point in 2017, maybe MC bought it as an investment property and could not find suitable tenants. So she persuaded her parents to sell their house and become her tenants. Otherwise, she would have waited to buy an apartment for them AFTER they sold their house. They could have at least been Tenants in Common if they contributed their $1m at the time of its purchase. But the way MC organised it, she virtually cut her brother out of his half of the inheritance of their house before they even died. So in order to compensate, she did a Will and left him the Aspen property which she did not even own. I wonder when he found out about this?

His emotions must also have gone from worrying about where MC was hiding initially or sadness that she might have suicided to anger that MC had duped him too to sadness when the shoe/foot was found and she could be dead. The same can be said about the mixed emotions of AK and OC.

IMO the family and AK could be suffering from what is called Complicated Grief:
During the first few months after a loss, many signs and symptoms of normal grief are the same as those of complicated grief. However, while normal grief symptoms gradually start to fade over time, those of complicated grief linger or get worse. Complicated grief is like being in an ongoing, heightened state of mourning that keeps you from healing.

Signs and symptoms of complicated grief may include:

  • Intense sorrow, pain and rumination over the loss of your loved one
  • Focus on little else but your loved one's death
  • Extreme focus on reminders of the loved one or excessive avoidance of reminders
  • Intense and persistent longing or pining for the deceased
  • Problems accepting the death
  • Numbness or detachment
  • Bitterness about your loss
  • Feeling that life holds no meaning or purpose
  • Lack of trust in others
  • Inability to enjoy life or think back on positive experiences with your loved one
Complicated grief also may be indicated if you continue to:

  • Have trouble carrying out normal routines
  • Isolate from others and withdraw from social activities
  • Experience depression, deep sadness, guilt or self-blame
  • Believe that you did something wrong or could have prevented the death
  • Feel life isn't worth living without your loved one
  • Wish you had died along with your loved one

I really hope so too & if they do then their outlook will be slightly better. I’m just quite concerned that MC has manipulated them into giving her all of their super & savings as well to “invest”into thin air.

I don't get the impression that has happened. I think I read that Melissa's parents are not listed as creditors (of Maliver).
Just that they are fighting to keep their apartment from the creditors.

Presumably (and hopefully) that means that no parental Super or savings were received by Maliver/Melissa for investment purposes.

I still have my concerns about the wheelie bins being trotted in and out...by AK. A lot can be disposed of in a wheelie bin...papers... old contracts , memorabilia ... stuff like that..
Among the claque of magazine readers here in my little court in Rose Bay, the general feeling is, no one believes anyone in this story. Even the dogs are suspect. Not quite pedigree, if you get my drift. No one can believe that the parents didn't have an inkling, their year 12 daughter, no tertiary education, or network, or gang of relatives in high places with clout, has managed to outsmart every other financial advisor in the state of NSW..
As for AK.. he is the comedy turn in this whole episode, but no one has any faith in any story he may, or may not tell. A tiny bit of grudging admiration for pulling it off, as far as he did. o_O:rolleyes:;)

I use the word again.. arriviste... they appropriated status they didn't earn , is how the general conclusions went. They do want to hear more from the victims, though. That part of this story is as mysterious as any markings in an ancient cave, to be deciphered slowly and with patient attention. How did this happen for so long? .. .
Superb. Marvellous. Splendid. Excellent.

Your last paragraph, I was researching Aboriginal cave art etc just an hour ago and you've just given me agriculture.

im no lawyer but my speculations is AK is not due to receive any cash due to not being a creditor, so the parents may not receive anything back due to not being creditors either?

So who owns the Aspen place MC rented? I just read she paid $40,000 a month rent but I'm unable to verify that, I'm just curious who owns the Aspen lodge or whatever it is.

Also, I wonder if all this NSW rain might result in the unearthing of some truth? Will something surface?

DOCUMENTARY- Hello, I am a Documentary Producer in the UK currently developing a doc on Melissa and her case. I am keen to show the vast interest her case has had in the web detective world. If you might consider speaking to me I'm at [email protected] Thanks!

I asked about the casino/gambling because I'm wondering if MC owed some big people some big money for a flighty champagne fuelled bet she made in the earlier stages of her "career", placing big bets may be an amateurs idea of saving face.

Surely you guys have combined forces on this topic already?
I am sure someone is covering that theory.

.
It sounds as though there may be a legal battle looming between the creditors/ASIC and the executor(s) of Melissa's estate (my own thought, due to the caveats that Melissa's parents placed on the Edgecliff property).

This AFR article says (paraphrased) ...
An insolvency lawyer said that the executor(s) will have to decide whether they are going to resist any court orders that Melissa's assets be taken to pay off the creditors.
And a court will have more 'comfort' dealing with executors versus dealing with the estate of a person who may not be deceased (if Melissa was still missing).

Sharemarkets / Forex & possibly crypto = Yes

Casino, Pokies & Horseracing = Probably not.

I haven’t ruled out crime association yet. There are lots of shifty people in that part of Sydney that look & act quite respectable. More discreet than John anyway. I definitely haven’t ruled out foul play by someone that isn’t a family member yet.
Minime9, that was exactly my train of though and my lines inquiry. When I pursued this theory on another group thread, all of my posts were deleted and I was warned not to proceed . I was followed. Admin messages to me on that issue were deleted in real time. Our conclusion, someone is monitoring posts, probably everywhere. From my own personal investigations I am a strong believer in what you have suggested, I would exclude family members on both sides. On a personal level, I dont know where to go with this inquiry, its just my honest opinion. If she did go down the path of ripping the wrong person off, or couldn't repay a debt, her days were numbered. IMOO. Just as she had fake documentation, others have fake addresses and details. IMOO.
