Hi SouthAussie
Just wondering are you aware if any mortgages and/or encumbrances are listed on the title documents for either property?

I’d be very surprised if MC has borrowed against at least one of the properties.

No, I am not aware of anything ... other than the initial mortgages on each property.

The lawyer working for a group of 15 investors estimates that there could be $5.6 million for the investors, once the assets are liquidated.
This equates, at best, to .21c in the dollar returning to the investors. And more if the stock portfolio that was discovered yields a high return.

It is likely that figure could be reduced though, as the lawyer estimated that another $750,000 could be chomped up by 'living expenses' and legal fees - if the assets aren't sold quickly. (Keeping in mind that most, if not all, living expenses should have stopped now.)

Presumably, if the Grimley's hold up the Edgecliff sale the investors return will decrease even further - due to legal fees - and reduce even more if the Grimley's achieve their own full $1 million claim.

(Just to add: if the liquidators can get their hands on the $4 million in the trust accounts, the investors returns should go much higher. imo)

Not sure. I don’t think so.

I should probably mention at this point that I don’t think Ibrahim has anything to do with this.
He's not in my theory but I wanted to gauge reactions.

And whatever Melissa did, she was their daughter who in their eyes looked after them and they would be grieving for her, and for their grandson who has lost his mother.

They'd be an absolute mess. Something like this can bring an elderly persons life to early end, anyone's life really but more so elderly.

I wonder who is supporting them through this all?

Can you imagine every night they lay down to sleep and each new morning?
It would be hell for me to have those worries on my mind.

Proper grief cannot be allowed to happen when basic needs are not being met or are in jeopardy.

You feel sorrowful and the worst you ever have yet you're also aware that you're being distracted from one issue by the other and that once you get through the present battle, another one against a more formidable opponent must be endured.

In the article I posted earlier (paraphrased) - dated 20th March - it said that their son is still staying with them.
I imagine that they will be going through this thing together, as a family. And he is likely making sure that they eat and rest, and probably is assisting them with the caveats they lodged. imo

And what do they do now to help with closure? Have a private memorial service or a private funeral?
How must they feel that their loved daughter is being vilified for everything, as well as likely having had severe undiagnosed/unrecognised personality and/or behavioural issues that they have (presumably) only just realised?

The bank statements of the NAB Account held in the name of Mrs ML Caddick during the period 2 January 2018 to 30 June 2020, there was a payment to Pinpoint Publishing for an amount of $3,960.00 (from affidavit)

I naturally assumed publishing costs for MC's glossy brochures and such......

However, when you search you get to this page......

PINPOINT PUBLISHING PTY LIMITED & SPEED MEDIA AUSTRALIA PTY. LIMITED Company Profile | SYDNEY, NEW SOUTH WALES, Australia | Competitors, Financials & Contacts - Dun & Bradstreet (dnb.com)

And then you click onto the website
About Us - Vision Property and Finance (visionpf.com.au)

Just wondering how much help MC was able to get here with her 'Mortgage Applications" and "fake" income etc.??

An "enabler" to her scheme perhaps???? As they profess to have a direct line to management at the Banks....

From their website:
Most brokers don’t have direct access to management-level staff in the bank. They need to be accredited with an aggregation company in order to place their business with a bank. It is the aggregator that has a direct relationship with the bank.

At Vision Property & Finance, we ARE the aggregator! Therefore, we have a direct relationship with the bank and its management team.

And this is why we can effectively mediate on your behalf with the banks in order to resolve any problems or issues that may occur during the processing of your loan application.

No. Not unless he's been officially named as a POI or suspect by LE.

MC was on a boat at some stage while alive imo.
Possibly taken down the coast on it imo.
Also, check the islands off the Wollongong beaches, Toothbrush Island etc for possible remains imo.

The Illawarra coastline is very narrow, in fact, Captain Cook originally came to a place called, "Winoona" first and with its mountains full of Cedars and its freshwater estuaries he attempted to land there - the coastline was too narrow for the boat apparently so on he sailed. Botany Bay being the next ideal spot that more than allowed ships to come close to shore.

I just read something about drift studies where one of three floats ended up on the rocks of a Wollongong beach.

Now, Port Kembla harbour is a bit further south, say 15-20km. Port Kembla has the Steelworks, a billion dollar cancer-causing industry that pollutes the region with poison. Port Kembla beach is immaculate, I mean the waters are unbelievable. Clear as paradise. I always thought it strange but someone explained the toxic froth drifts UP the coast to settle at Wollongong.

Between Port Kembla and Sydney we have a seafloor the big ships anchors have dredged up insanely since the advent of the Steelworks. Imo this could play a role in objects drifting to the area but imo.

Crazy thing is, I told you guys in the deleted thread about the beach I take a 40min bus trip to visit weekly, which is Wollongong. I spoke about how seaweed bunches up on a tiny section of the shore.

Might go to the beach today if I get enough work done before lunch...

There was some detective who I can't seem to find online who had what peers called "alternative methods" to finding clues. One method was to rearrange the letters of the suspect or victims name or suburb etc

I created anagrams of MELISSA LOUISE CADDICK" and here are a few examples:

Deadlocks music is a lie
I claim deadlocks issue
Cassocked Audi slim lie
Ice aside mollusks acid
Dockside aims ill cause
Dockside aim is sea cull
Dockside cams sail lieu
Dockside ail clue amiss

Regarding the money etc, how important would MC's computers, hard drives be to the investigation?

Extremely important. Especially if she had assets in other names...
But... I am guessing she covered her tracks when she deleted SM and shredded her paperwork... She may have even purchased new hard drives at the time and only copied over the files she wanted and then destroyed the old hard drives....

Yes the family lost their daughter and they grieve but many of the Investors lost a long time friend who they now find out betrayed and stole from them...leaving them with no financial future for them or their families. The investors didn’t get to enjoy the 8 years of travel, private school and the good life like MC and her family did!
The investors were lied to every year when MC met face to face with them to discuss her investment strategy for their investments!
MC’s parents did not purchase the apartment MC did so if her parents lose it they will be in the same boat as all the investors. The investors will possibly be left with a fraction of what MC lead them to believe they had. The investors financial security has been stripped from them by a callous and scheming woman.
And the question remains....who were her enablers?

That's what I was alluding to. Ghost drives.

I raised this question a week or so ago. How did this woman do EVERYTHING required to pull off this scam of a scheme?

I think it is disadvantageous to assume she acted alone due to the fact that if she was murdered, a motive will provide clues as to who did it.

I'm pretty sure Charles Ponzi and Christopher Skase weren't on posters blu-tacked to her bedroom walls in her teenage years.

It's as if she was shown or even GROOMED in the ways of this scam early in her job history.

What about the banks mandatory requirement to report all transactions over $10 000 or suspicious activity? I know they're lazy with this because it impedes profit but letting MC's activities fly could have broader implications.

I just remembered SLouTH posted a goodin' along this train of thought this morning..

When ASIC alerted her in August, how did they do that? By phone, email, in person? She had 3 months to clean up computer, social media, whatever. I’m surprised she didn’t take off earlier but maybe she ran out of time.
