The battle over who will benefit from the sale of fraudster Melissa Caddick's multi-million dollar house continues as the extent of her excessive spending is revealed.
Caddick's husband Anthony Koletti was at the Federal Court in Sydney today to fight for a slice of the sale of the family home in the affluent suburb of Dover Heights.
He has been told to vacate the sprawling property by May 18 so it can be sold to pay back some of his wife's victims.

Caddick's husband Anthony Koletti was at the Federal Court in Sydney today. (Nine)
Documents filed in court outline how Koletti hasn't been able to secure gainful employment aside from casual hairdressing and some income from music.
He blames the extensive media coverage of his wife's disappearance, lengthy legal proceedings and grief.

I would think that Barbara and Ted should at least be entitled to the same amount they got for selling their previous home. That's only fair.

SMH usually gives free access for a few articles. Google the title
"Auction of Caddick’s house risks becoming ‘a circus’, court hears" and you may be able to read it.

As to your question, it says: "Robert Newlinds, SC, who is representing the Grimleys, complained that his clients were “disappointed and perplexed” to find the receivers had not provided any details as to how their daughter’s property was going to be marketed, on what terms real estate agents would be engaged and how many valuations would be obtained."

Frankly, I can't see how that is relevant to the sale. I don't see how the Grimleys have any interest in that house -- other than if they have maybe put themselves on the list of victims of her crimes.
They have a lot of interest in Dover Heights for this reason:
proceeds of the sale of Dover Heights should also be used to pay off the mortgage on the Edgecliff property where the Grimleys live as the bank is charging default interest rates.
Can't follow this logic... So AK has to move out of Dover Heights so that the G's can stay in theirs?

AK has to move out because the Court has ordered him to, and I gather that he has agreed to be out by 18 May.

IMO, the Grimleys are overthinking this. I'm pretty sure that NAB and the receiver will not be accepting a 'fire sale' price for the Dover Heights property. They'll be wanting market price for sure.

In my view, the Grimleys are only due the amount of money that they can prove -- to whoever's satisfaction -- that they put into the penthouse (probably if it is considered a loan).

I don't believe that the parents have a claim over the penthouse as the title is 99% in MC's name and 1% in Adam's name. I think that the parents need to accept that their next abode is probably a retirement unit.

They sound entitled at times, but I cannot even begin to imagine how their lives have been turned upside down by this mess.

I tend to agree, but chances are slim.

I mused earlier that perhaps AK should maybe file a claim as being a victim of MC's crimes.

He might have more luck doing that.
Well she did bamboozle him, but although his leash was tight, he didn’t give MC substantial sums to invest or contribute to their mortgage.

His hairdressing wage would contribute to unavoidable and legitimate expenses. Things like food, utilities, internet, phone, petrol. He would have had those expenses regardless so he’s not really entitled to any claim.

I guess if he can provide real financial evidence that he innocently contributed to property that has been seized/sold as proceeds of MC's crimes, then he might have a legitimate claim to some measure of recompense as a victim of her crimes along with the long list of others in that situation.

What will be interesting is to know if MC left a will and what that included. I guess a coroner has to declare that she is dead before any will could be executed.

Yes this is a good point. AK wage used to be deposited into MC account & supposedly it was meant to go towards the car. Not sure how far he could go with that one though as the car probably wasn’t in his name?

OMG. The lender of last resort. Had forgotten all about how MC approached them in late 2019 for $5million. How on earth did she think she would ever pay them back. Before they even finalised the deal they put a caveat on her house; she must have known it was going to get very messy with them eventually when it was time to start paying up. So many questions.

It amuses me that a loan shark smelled a rat.

(I'm kind of tiring of the gossipy conversation tag team style of this podcast series. IMO, these two journos ought to stick to writing and forget the acting.)

That’s the problem with ponzi schemes right? Sooner or later they become unsustainable. I thought it was interesting (but unsurprising) that there were some reports that Melissa appeared very stressed in the months leading up to her death. Struggling to come up with an exit plan or a way out that would still leave her with plenty of cash and the affluence and admiration she seemed to crave?

So, what is AK being paid for his eviction story on Sunday Night?
The man is shameless

As if more evidence was needed that TV stations will pay for anything, there it is.

I wonder if he's come up with any new theory on MC's disappearance? Whisked away by aliens, perhaps?

Of course, the media are using the cliche 'fire sale' but IMO it won't be let go at just any price. Both NAB and the defrauded investors deserve for it to be sold at market price for that location.

Conwoman Melissa Caddick’s incredible eastern suburbs mansion is set to hit the market within weeks, after her husband was turfed out of the hilltop home via a court order.

Anthony Koletti left the Dover Heights home for the last time on Wednesday, with the threat of eviction hanging over him, after the Federal Court ordered the two-storey home to be sold off to repay his late wife’s creditors.

Several valuations have priced the property at around $15 million, which will go some way to paying off the 74 investors who lost around $23 million via Caddick’s Ponzi scheme.

Wow, I wouldn't want to leave that house either!

In the Affidavit the Receivers and AK there are AK’s business bank statements that show that his wages were paid into his business bank account…. as well as many “cash” deposits… but nearly every sent was both withdrawn in cash and transferred to another bank account! ?diddling the ATO??
