Another thought: He might not have defensive wounds if he was trying to protect that area.

If something oral was going on (no pants/shirt on/booty call) she could just as easily have bitten down hard to get Morgan to keel over - then proceeded with the anger-killing.

But I think sedation via a drink would be the best way for no-one to hear Morgan scream out in pain during the incapacitation process, then on to the deliberate neck wounds and frenzied attack.

I'll be really intrigued to see the toxicology report too - if they have the results already they'd know if someone had slipped something in his drink or injected him with something to incapacitate him.

She may stabbed, cut or have bitten him during oral sex ...
Just a thought - a horrid one at that ...

Good newspaper article!
I wonder if Morgan had broken off an engagement with someone, or he was thinking of finally asking someone to be his 'one and only' - and the one who thought it would be them, was not the one?
Any recent engagement ring purchases from Morgan?
Any talk of himself getting hitched in the near future?
Or any break-ups recently?

Sorry SouthAussie - I repeated what you said - thinking alike at the same time there ;)

If I didn't know all this happened in real life it would be like an old mills and noon novel!!!

I just hope that there is enough evidence for a quick arrest, his poor family must be going through an awful time :(

Well, it's been over three weeks now, so I think a quick arrest can be counted out.

However, three weeks seems to be the time period for many standard DNA and toxicology results to be released (judging by some other cases) ... so we may see something positive happen very soon.

I don't think being bitten during OS is likely since any girl who does that I can guarantee will have broken bones, heavy bruising, and possibly gouged eyes.
Perhaps he's woken up with a significant wound to that area and then as Mrs G suggested above, the ohter injuries followed, defense wounds now being less likely as he's caring for the missing piece? I wonder if DrWatson can offer any suggestions as to whether that is a game-changer now as far as incapacitation or lack of defense wounds goes...?

Apparently we missed Morgan’s obituary. There is an entry on this FB page referring to it – on 11th September – but when you click on the link that is supposed to take you to the obituary, the page has been removed already. I’ve searched to try to see if I can find it another way, but no luck.

It is very unusual for an obit to be removed so quickly ... many obits sit in cyberspace for a long, long time. I wonder if it had a guest book/tributes link, as so many obits do, and the guest book held some comments that police are holding for evidence.

Not necessarily inconsistent. If the stabber was underneath, stabbing at his back, then as he rolled off onto his side, she (presumably) just kept stabbing 3 more times. The intent may not have been specifically targeted at his jugular or anything in particular - just fortuitous that it hit it. Doesn't even have to be deep - the internal jugular vein is right there under the skin, very easy to get at, which is why we use it for cannulation for a central IV line commonly. It's very superficial really.

Just one possible scenario among many, of course.

But that's one reason I'd like to see the autopsy report.

You and me both - or as Mrs Slocombe would say "I am unanimous" :)
All will be revealed, it's only a matter of time.

It was the same as the funeral notice that is probably still online via the funeral director.

That thought did come into my head just as I was reading yes. I do think that whoever it was in the room knew MH and had probably been intimate with him before. But just the pattern of lots of small stab wounds on the back got me thinking maybe something was nearby and she could have been fighting him off. Having said that you would think she would have come forward by now, or not run, but I would imagine if it was something like that she may have just fled and now be scared.

As I said I don't believe it to be the case as I think LE would have disclosed it, if it was easy to tell, although it could explain the presence of blood not belonging to MH in the bedroom as has been suggested.

1.30am + in the morning, in a man's bedroom. She isn't there for tea and cupcakes. :twocents:

Poor thing probably just misses the nice man who used to pat it every day...
:-(

He wouldn't have had time. :)
More likely misses the nice Irish lady who gave her treats.

I don't know about you other ladies here - but have you ever had sex with a man who kept his T-shirt on during?

I certainly have not. Socks.. I wince to say it - ONCE (and never again ). But not a t-shirt. Not that it's impossible. But usually, in my experience, the shirt comes off in short order.

But I have known fellers to sleep in a t-shirt. Occasionally, just a t-shirt.

Which is why I think Morgan may have been sleeping off a day's worth of celebratory booze and a couple schooners of beer from the pub after that.. and maybe was attacked in his sleep, still wearing his t-shirt from the pub.

Depending on where the throat wounds were.. he was either attacked from the front or the side, or from the back.

If the wounds are on the side, it's very possible his killer was sitting or kneeling on Morgan's legs or lower back, attacking very quickly before taking off, leaving him for dead (which he wasn't, quite).

Maybe the throat wounds came -after- the ones on his back.. Like, he was stabbed a lot of times, very quickly (thus the wounds are shallow in places) - turned over and had his throat slashed..? Rather than fighting, and in shock from the wounds on his back, he automatically gropes for his own cut throat, while the assailant gets off the bed and flees...

Thinking out loud..

No - not true. There are a few points around the shoulder region that can be painful, but nothing disabling. And nothing that can't be wriggled out of, especially if your assailant has the other hand occupied with a knife.

So there is no such thing as Star Trek's Spock's debilitating shoulder "squeeze"... eh? :waitasec:

:D

Interesting, out of the box thinking. I have been considering a male perp.
I know the police are reporting a female, but I could see a man getting pizzed off
if he was seeing someone who was MH BC, getting angry, and acting on the anger.

Do the police in Australia tell the truth to the public or do they put out info to the public which is not true to make the perp feel at ease?
Like it is a woman when they suspect a man? Is this a possibility?

Also, what about someone from the bar he frequents? Could someone from the bar be the perp?
They would know all about his activities if he met his numerous BC at the bar.
Wonder if he was a talker/bragger about his conquests or are the 14 BC a big surprise to everyone?
I wonder if the 14 BC knew of each other? Maybe threesome gone bad??

Maybe the flatmate called her bf first because they had discussed MH behavior and were concerned,
then she finds MH, and of course she would call bf probably to say something horrible has happened, get here quick.

MOO

Well, maybe there will be an arrest soon!

Like you... I have been thinking outside the box, too... As we wait for more information from LE/MSM...

I was wondering if the perp may have been a male... Who had a "crush" on Morgan...

Knowing he could not compete with the 14 BC's might have helped lead to his unraveling?

:dunno:

Thanks .. yes, that was posted on the children's books FB site. I was actually looking for the tributes/guest book .. was interested in looking at tributes posted by others. That is what I couldn't find anywhere (plus the obit is gone - the SMH link you posted doesn't work any more - well, the link works but there is no obit for Morgan there any more).

Perhaps they didn't set up a guest book, or perhaps it has been removed as some of the searches indicated. But if anyone finds one .....
