I can’t help wondering if the announcer added the bit about going feet first into the truck, without knowing it for sure. How would he have that information?
All journo’s seem to have their Police sources…. And they seem to know a lot more than we do … which can be so frustrating … imo

Radio 4BC 5.18min Audio

This audio says the CCTV showed Lesley going feet first into the truck.
And finally an admission, of sorts, that they do have some CCTV footage … they have previously been so reluctant to admit it … imo…

Yes I read the other day that they did have what they called limited vision from CCTV in the area.
It did take them awhile to mention it.

From what I recall there was blood found in a couple of places.

But now I think they could see from the truck camera that it had to be more than just falling in the bin.
In order for the bin to be collected, the lid has to be down … in order for the trucks mechanical arm to function ..

It is not possible for her to have closed the lid herself after she was in the bin, especially if the report of head first (out feet first) is correct…

Some one other than LT, had to have closed the lid…

It has to be nefarious I believe..

IMO

It is possible to fall in the bin, if you hold the lid open while bending down looking inside the bin,
You fall in, the lid closes after you

You'd think the bin would've been nearly full.

But what if it was not? What if she did lean in, to reach something at the bottom, only to fall in, the lid dropping atop her, and by sad virtue of how she landed within, died of positional asphyxiation? Just an absolutely random freak accident, cctv from the truck her only silent witness...

Then I'd be wondering about the couple of blood events found in places other than the bin.

Just looking at QPS updates about Lesley.

Updates 1, 2 & 3 are still there, but Update 4 (from 7 days ago) has been removed.

I don't recall looking at Update 4. I wonder what it said.
I think this might be it.

Police update 4: Missing woman, Toowong

The investigation is ongoing in relation to the suspicious death of 78-year-old Toowong woman, Lesley Trotter.

Extensive investigations by homicide detectives indicate Lesley Trotter’s body was inside a general waste ‘wheelie’ bin on the footpath of Maryvale Street, Toowong on the morning of Tuesday, March 28.

It is believed Lesley Trotter was already deceased at that time, however, her remains have not been located.

The bin was collected by a rubbish truck later that morning, during the weekly waste collection on Maryvale Street.

The truck was one of 23 trucks that attended Nudgee Waste Transfer Station, with the contents from each of these trucks sent to landfill sites at Rochedale and Swanbank.

These respective sites have been secured and a search will be conducted once further information is obtained to narrow the extensive search area.

Trucks will be prevented from further dumping in these sites to preserve the search area.

Forensic examinations of a number of items are continuing.

Detectives renew their appeal for anyone with relevant information, dashcam vision or CCTV, particularly between 5am and 7am on Tuesday, March 28, to come forward.

If it is murder, it does sound like it's someone nearby who is able to hide the bin, then put it out for it to be emptied in front of Lesley's unit complex.

And if it was something like a hit and run from someone who didn't live nearby how would they go about hiding the bin, and coming back to put it out. Maybe someone visiting nearby but that didn't live there.

Would a hit and run be considered murder if you hid the body, and/or didn't report it.

  • #554
If it was murder, lucky it was rubbish day,(unless rubbish was the motive) but unlucky rubbish trucks have cameras.

With Lesley having blonde/greying/light hair, could it be a possibility that with the footage caught from the garbage truck they could see if there was blood on her, esp her head? Maybe they could even see if there were injuries to her head that might not have been possible from a fall either into a bin or her body going into the truck? (Esp if she went in to the truck feet first)

Pretty horrible thought but I saw a few pics of what the vision is like inside a garbage truck (maybe from southAussie? I apologise if wrong). Maybe they could enhance the vision somehow and get a clear look at lesleys body?

edit to add- maybe she was concealed somehow as well. Possibly had something wrapped around her body, or could have had something like a bag over her head etc? Something that could have maybe unconcealed after going into the truck?

As Tootsie has said, it could be from CCTV that they have seen her. Police have not stated it, but video seems to be the only solution, once you piece their wording together.

“Ongoing investigations can reveal that on the morning of Tuesday, the 28th of March this year, the body of a female we believe was Lesley Trotter was located in a general waste wheelie bin,” he said.

“It was evident she was deceased. Due to the positioning of the body, we can’t rule out foul play.

“Later that morning that bin was collected by a rubbish truck.”

This makes sense Marg about the CCTV
I wondered that too.
I've read and listened to lots of different news outlets re Lesley and none of them mention the position the body was in, either in the bin or when it went into the truck.

It could be possible he did get that information.

One thing about being feet first.

If someone was arrested and there wasn't enough evidence against them, they could say she fell into the bin while searching through it. Especially if she was head down in the bin.

That doesn''t account for the blood though.
I find this scenario quite possible on the recording 4BC

I think it also now makes more sense when police say due to the positioning of the body they cannot rule out foul play. If she was in head first I presume they had to keep it open that she may have fallen in (unlikely)

“It was evident at that time that the person we believe is Ms Trotter was deceased,” he said on Tuesday.

“Due to the positioning of the body, I can’t rule out foul play at this stage.”

Here goes, I'm going to be blunt. High pressure from the compressor and action from the graders onsite at the dump can dismember a body. If she was in rigor, it would be more likely to happen, because her body would be rigid and would shear when force was applied. That said, her body would probably still be in large pieces. Smaller pieces, like her hands and feet, may be difficult to find. Her torso and the larger parts of her limbs should be relatively intact. The big problem they are facing apart from the complexities and dangers of searching that volume of rubbish is that the conditions particular to a dump hasten decomposition. They're running against the clock to find soft tissues and a body that is somewhat articulated, not just bones.

I know that they have commented that she was deceased in the bin, I truly hope so and she was just not unconscious because christ this would have been an even worse thing and way to die

This guy seems to be so matter-of-fact in the broadcast. Interesting

Not sure about all unit complexes however when I previously lived in a complex there has been a person who is paid by the strata to come each week and put all the relevant bins out the night before pick up. The person in our case was the cleaner/garden maint person. They arrived late Sunday put all the bins out on the street for collection for the early MON morning. I wonder if this complex had the same arrangement. Could she have been out messing with the bins at the time such a person turned up to take the bins out on the street..........?
