GUILTY Australia - Robert, 66, & Cheryl Adamson, 60, murdered, Murrumbeena, Vic, 19 Feb 2014

It is not normal to brutally murder a middle-aged couple. To leave their children without their parents and with the horror of their demise. To leave your own parents with such a heavy cross to bear.

Absolutely, SouthAussie. A 'normal' person would never brutally murder anyone - or even think about doing it.

Evidently, TH came across as 'normal'. According to someone who knows him, he presented as an average, lovely guy. But I just cannot believe that there were no darker hints somewhere in his past. Unless he was incredibly good at concealing his shadow side........

Tom was neither socially awkward nor was he quiet.
He was a kind, generous, and loving person toward all of his friends, and everyone who was around him loved him.
This came out of nowhere for everyone around Tom. There were next to no signs, he wasn't weird at all, nor was he weird around the time it happened. He wasn't anything close to a psychopath. He genuinely cared about his friends and family, and would go out of his was to do as much as he could for them.

I feel so sorry for the victims family, and for everything they're going through.
But Toms family cannot be left out of thought. I have never seen a family more broken and torn up about anything. These are kind, loving and overall just decent human beings. They dont deserve this sort of talk as them possibly having anything to do with what Tom has done, because they had no idea.

Just thinking about this description of Tom as being totally fine around the time of the murders and appearing 'normal'. That in itself can be indicative of psychopathy.

A psychopath is a master chameleon and they don't experience emotion in the way the average person does. So- as we've unfortunately seen again and again at WS - they can commit an horrendous crime then casually go about their business as if nothing has happened. Because emotionally, to them, it is not devastating. Rather it's a release.....

I did wonder about reports after he was arrested saying that he was out on the street with his mother that afternoon after their bodies had been found, seemingly normal. That raised alarm bells for me.

I wonder what next to no signs means?

I wonder what next to no signs means?

Yeah, I wondered that too. It's either signs or no signs.....'next to no signs' implies that there were some signs IMO.

I agree, and I would never want to be a part of a fear-mongering campaign against those who suffer mental illness. They have it tough enough already!

I am both wanting, and dreading, further details about motive, mental state etc. I imagine there will be more information released during the process at some stage, but don't think there'll be much comfort in any of it.

These were warm, lovely people, and I still can't believe this has happened to them.

Hi truthseeker :seeya: I just wanted to clarify I wasn't implying that you were saying anything negative about mental illness!! Because you weren't!

I was actually addressing KrysJames' comments about TH seeming so lovely and warm. I was trying to say that he could well be lovely and warm and still be suffering from a mental illness. The two are not mutually exclusive.

Just wanted to clear that up!!

No need, Isis. Was clear to me, but thanks anyway. :blow kiss:

Unless it has been reported in MSM it is considered a rumor regarding the victims. Please do not post rumors.

I must have missed this?. I don't think it's been posted?.

Family, friends and neighbours have farewelled Murrumbeena couple Robert and Cheryl Adamson, who were found dead in their home last month, at a private funeral in the quiet leafy suburb.

Mourners spilled from the doors of the Church of St Peter in Murrumbeena on a morning of sunshine and blue skies that belied the congregation's chilling loss.

The Adamson's sound like very lovely people:

They were. It's a shame in one way that the media weren't inside the church at the funeral because the things that were said about them really showed how much they meant to so many people. More than one community has been devastated by this unforgivable act.

Well, I've just been reading the condolences in the newspapers and it was very obvious how much they were loved by a lot of people. Tis very, very sad. Their poor children

Here's another article about the funeral. Their dog was present. So sweet:

The Adamson’s pet dog, a german shorthaired pointer, also formed a part of the procession.

So very sad. :( I hope that the Adamson's precious pet has been placed in a good home.

ETA - I wonder where the Adamson's german shorthaired pointer was when his/her owners were being brutally murdered?.

Thanks so much, enzeder!:seeya:

I actually wanted to post that exact picture but - despite having your fabulous instructions on how to do so - I gave up!!:floorlaugh:

Much appreciated. You get more of a sense of them from that photo IMO than in that stilted, formal graduation one with their son.

I just noticed that they were born one day apart (in different years) and that their birthdays are very soon.

Sending much love to their families - those will be two very tough days

I'm sorry for your loss truthseeker2011. Sounds as though you may have lost some lovely friends in Cheryl and Robert. :(

I hope their four-legged friend is still with family that s/he knows and loves. That poor dog has probably experienced a lot of trauma through perhaps seeing the attack and losing his/her human best friends. :(

Such a sad, sad case. Such unnecessary losses for so many loved ones.

Darby, the dog, is fine. I have no idea where he was during the attack. I guess that is one of the details that will come out during the trial, but don't really want to think about it.
