He identifies as Huntsman! :)
But unfortunately deadly like a Redback :(

Edit: I love spiders, especially Huntsman’s so screw you GL you’re not allowed to identify as anything above bacterium!

I've used outback toilets.

Some had huntsmen, there were no other toilets around, so I just did my business while not taking my eye off that spider. :)
The thought of waiting til we came across the next toilet never entered my mind

I've actually never met a man who would admit to being even a bit scared of spiders.

If that's true, then I'd have expected police involvement and charges.

I don't think I would expect Lisa to have told the police, seeing that she was afraid of him.
And I wouldn't imagine the neighbour she told would have dobbed him in, for Lisa's safety.

imo

Andrew Rule has a new podcast episode relevant to Lynn but it is only available to the privileged at the moment. It will likely appear on his 'available to everybody' site soon :

I have also found this podcast on spotify, for anyone who has a spotify account (it is a free account).

Thank goodness that gate was locked ... because, as Andrew Rule says, if it wasn't for that gate being locked - and the subsequent NPR cameras at Mt Hotham and Russell's phone pinging there - Lynn would have been able to lie his way out of this crime. Andrew says he is a very good liar.

I could access it here and don’t have a subscription

Thanks. I pretty much don't use Apple products. Just a personal preference.
I thought there may be other people here who also don't use Apple products, and may want another link.

As I read it Lynn shot a neighbour's dog, not Lisa's?

What I am thinking is that the affected neighbour couldn't prove or didn't know that it was Lynn who shot the neighbour's dog.

But Lisa knew that Lynn shot the dog. And told a different neighbour, at a later point in time. Perhaps even when she lived in Mount Macedon. Because I get the feeling that the neighbour who knew was a Mount Macedon neighbour. Not a Tassie neighbour.

The article says Lisa told a neighbour that "when they lived in Evandale .... ".

Hence my response.

I was thinking that maybe he trained to be a pilot in the air force. He may come from a typical middle class background, joined the air force, and did his pilot's training there.

He trained with the RAAF but decided to leave when he was not selected in the alpha stream to be an elite pilot flying fighter jets.

Would be interesting to know why he was passed over for selection. I have to wonder if he maybe failed a psychological test.

I like Andrew Rule but there wasn't much in there we didn't already know. But a good summary for someone who needs to get up to speed.

In his ROI he said to the police that the Airforce told him to go. Who knows what for but we might hear more about it at sentencing if the judge deems it relevant.

Yep it was in his interview that he said the AirForce asked him to leave.
I wonder now if he actually got fired, or expelled or something like that.

Maybe he was a rubbish bloke back then too and the powers that be couldn't stand him either.

My response: Pity is wasn't a Redback.

I was once admitted to hospital for about 18 hours after a Redback bite on the foot. They weren't happy with my vital signs so my whole leg was wrapped with a very tight compression bandage and I was given anti-venom. I didn't respond as they expected so I got a second shot. One of the doctors who saw me that night asked how bad the pain was. I said, "It's excruciating. I'd rather go through childbirth again", that's how bad it was.

Ouch!

The only spider bite I've had was from a white garden spider that had crawled up the leg of my pants and then bit me in the groin area. Talk about itch! It nearly drove me mad for more than a week. I was buying calamine lotion by the litre. I had a big red patch about the size of a beer coaster.

The symptoms would abate for a few hours and then come back with a vengeance without warning. It was hugely embarrassing being with people when the itchiness suddenly recurred. I had to leave the room.
