It was left unlocked with the window down, like an open invitation for contamination of a scene
Good thinking. Maybe, the thieves were hoping someone else would steal it.

On further reading I see that Sam was 180cm tall, not 160cm that I had read elsewhere. That is a relief. I was more frightened for him if he was so petite.

I'm wondering if something was found by forensics in the car to accelerate the search for Sam to such a high priority.

Evidence that a dead body had been in it? Blood? Cadaver dogs smelt the death scent?

That was my immediate thought as well. Blood, weapons with blood, clothing/shoes belonging to Sam a lot of possibilities that could point to murder.

If the keys were in it, maybe the offenders were hoping someone would steal it to distance themselves from the crime.

There has been nothing in the news today which makes me think they may know something?

There was also a high speed chase in Pottsville today which had me wondering if it was linked.

Really?

I'm 176cm, more likely to be a victim of violence or not?

seems to have been little today posted online, I have seen another guy has gone missing in Brisbane but since Jan http://mypolice.qld.gov.au/blog/2017/03/15/appeal-information-south-brisbane/

Apart from the obvious...they are both young men from Brisbane gone missing....

The only other possible connection....is that Sam had a post on FB that indicated or suggested he had used a jetski to go from Deep Water to southbank...

I noted Southbank is about 6 - 8 minute drive from Dutton...where Thomas went missing from..

Just started looking....so far that's all I got

I just felt that a small man would have less chance of defending himself if things went suddenly pear shaped and may also be a more likely target. My thoughts only.

Just an observation.. he mentioned looking for a Samsung charger and upgrading to ios (apple) in the space of a month. (Fb, a while back)

Being totally random here.. 2 phones, one for business one for leisure?

True, even that guy on the motorcycle filmed it, luckily. Very strange what's going down. I watched the footage of the robbers, they were both armed, handgun and a sawed off shotgun, and very well concealed with their clothing. Definitely professionals who mean business.
Those robbers didn't look very professional to me. For starters, way too much hesitation going on there. Looks like they were debating whether to go ahead with it or not. The one who's still on the stairs with their hand on the rail, looks like they'd rather be anywhere but there and the other one on the other hand is like.."c'mon, don't be a wuss, let's do it"... It's almost comical. I reckon those guns were just for show, cause those two did not act like they had it in them to rob the place let alone shoot anyone. Very strange! MOO

I suppose it depends how one perceives the situation. The robbers can see movement across the glass door, probably trying to determine how many people are in residence. Lucky for them it was only a female and one male, once the female answered the door they took control. It would be strange to witness robbers storming the place like they're police, they're casing the joint before entering. Those weapons look very real and I'm sure they were prepared to use them. I suspect the dogs were barking and the scene would look different if we could also hear it.

There hasn't been any more media reports for two days, this makes me think they have strong leads?

I imagine the police are busy going through Sam's phone calls and text messages and FB messages, finding out who all his contacts were and who exactly these people are, tracking where his phone has been, when his phone was (presumably) turned off, going over his car forensically with a fine tooth comb, reviewing CCTV from highways and shops and residences along any route they think his car took.

I know that Deep Water Bend was searched for his body, but was Wooyung thoroughly searched?

I don't recall reading that - and re-reading articles on MSM doesn't tell me.

If it wasn't - why wouldn't they conduct a full line search there when his vehicle was found there? That seems odd
