Police today revealed a 24-year-old woman who was not known to the family has been charged with two counts of murder and one count of arson.

She will appear in the Maroochydore Magistrates Court on January 7.

Meanwhile, investigators are appealing for anyone who may have seen a white Holden Barina wagon with a solar panel on its roof in the area to come forward.

On Friday, a 24-year-old Maryborough woman was charged with two counts of murder and one count of arson.

Detective Inspector Gary Pettiford would not comment on the woman’s motive but revealed she was a stranger to her alleged victims.

The woman, who is a former Biggenden resident, is set to appear in Maroochydore Magistrates Court on Saturday.

Detective Chief Inspector Gary Pettiford said he could not comment on what led to the arrest but added three people had come forward to assist with their investigation.
"We don't believe that she was known to either of the deceased, or Rebecca, Todd's fiancée," he said.

"We still have a hell of a lot of work to do, and it's all quite sensitive."
Pettiford confirmed the woman went to school in Biggenden.

Police and SES volunteers have been combing the area for clues.

"We have conducted numerous searches with the SES both at the scene of the fire but also at the Isis Highway over a number of days, we are in fact still searching."

He said police divers were searching a body of water in Ban Ban Springs today.

"We have found some items of interest but, again, I can't comment on the nature of those items," he said.

How awful. The young woman must have some sort of grudge, even if it's only in her head. But to kill a child as well! I do wonder how sane she is.

What would motivate someone to commit such a heinous crime (allegedly)?

And she was thought to be a “stranger” to the victims.

Why would a stranger, or anyone, undertake such horrible actions? I can’t imagine the grief of the family of the victims.

May they Rest In Peace.

I agree. I can’t get my head around why kill a poor innocent child. I think there is more to the story.
I live not far from the crime and I’m wondering why they were looking for CCTV from Biggenden to Mundubbera and not to Maryborough. Ban Ban Springs is in the opposite direction.

I'm baffled as to what the motive could be.

Actually after being on Websleuths for quite awhile now, my mind can think of various theories, but they're just theories with no facts behind them.

My only thought is robbery.
The previous owners of their property were cattle farmers. Cattle brings in $$$. The house was sold in 2021 and if this alleged woman grew up in Biggenden then maybe she thought they still lived there.

Or I suppose the motive could be something like the young woman previously lived at this property, but for some reason her family lost it. So she sees the family currently there as interlopers.

She's already getting nasty messages on her Facebook page.

I guess to some it's not innocent tll found guilty, its once you're charged you are guilty.

Did MSM state that there was a murder weapon? Are you thinking armed robbery gone horribly wrong?

What a horrific and senseless crime.

I cannot find one single media article about this that’s not behind a paywall.
Where’s the Daily Fail when you need them?

I actually just came across the alleged murderer/arsonists Instagram account.

Not sure if the Daily grift here on WS, probably not long anyway until this gets out - but at least here’s some information that’s not behind a paywall:

Wow. Thanks for the link.
It’s easy to imagine motives for a young hippie woman to kill a man, self defense or even some twisted crime of passion, but to kill a young girl leaves me with nothing, and then there’s the burning of their bodies which is often interpreted as an admission of guilt.
