I wonder if the wife and kids are in India now.
Me too. So the suspects father went to India to search for him. Did he ever come back? Or is the whole family now living in India?

Extradition request imminent for 'key person of interest' in Toyah Cordingley murder

An extradition request to track down a key person of interest in the murder of Toyah Cordingley near Cairns in Far North Queensland is expected to be made "very soon", federal MP Warren Entsch says.

Media reports published in late 2018 identified Innisfail nurse Rajwinder Singh, who flew to India shortly after Ms Cordingley's body was found, as a person of interest in the investigation.

The reports were criticised by police for potentially jeopardising their investigation.

Mr Entsch said Federal Attorney-General Christian Porter had been working closely with Queensland police, who were preparing an application for Mr Singh's extradition.

I have reason to think maybe there were others involved that weren't known to Singh. Really not sure just a hunch.

What do you think?

The men whose tyre was flat or whatever, that's always bothered me..

I’m not confident that these two men would flag someone down for help if they had just murdered Toyah. Singh still my top POI

Moo of course

Yes I understand where you're coming from and you probably are right about Singh being the only p.o.i

Assistant Minister to the Attorney General Amanda Stoker confirmed the extradition request has been signed and will soon be formally lodged with the Indian government.

“I can confirm that I have signed an extradition request to India with respect to a man wanted by Queensland Police in relation to the murder of Toyah Cordingley near Cairns in 2018,” she said.

“Extradition requests vary considerably in complexity and can depend on a number of factors including the criminal offences, the criminal conduct underlying those offences and the volume of the documentation required to make a valid extradition request to another country, as well as the relevant country’s own legal processes.

I'm not getting my hopes up that it will happen any time soon, if at all.

For the first time, Toyah's mother speaks to 60 Minutes reporter Liz Hayes about the brutal murder of her daughter and her desperate fight for justice.

"If it was a politician's daughter, they would have this person and they would have justice," Toyah's heartbroken mum, Vanessa Gardiner, says.

"I feel like we've just been pushed to the side, pushed under the carpet, like we don't matter."

After a painstaking investigation, they presented all of the evidence they've been gathering, enough to get the federal assistant minister to the attorney-general, Amanda Stoker, to sign an extradition warrant on Thursday night.

Senator Stoker did not name the suspect. Australia must now formally lodge the extradition request with India.

Federal far north Queensland MP Warren Entsch, who has closely followed the investigation and is in touch with Ms Cordingley's family, said it was a very significant step in the fight for justice.

"It's taken a long time to make sure we got it right. It's quite complex, and there's a very high threshold of evidence (required for an extradition warrant)," he told AAP on Friday.

"I'm pleased there's obviously enough to satisfy the assistant minister to sign off on it. Hopefully India will now issue a warrant."
