The article I was just reading, indicates that although the police are talking hypothetically, they seem to be alluding to the nature of the attack and that there had been concerns with behaviours on the beach more recently--> EDIT sorry the link to the article is not working.

The only other avenue my mind wandered to, which I understand is far fetched, has been the incel mentality. If her below post on social media was public, it is just extremely coincidental that she would be murdered undertaking a very mundane activity. You only have to look at popular feminist writers social media to see the daily death threats and threats of sexual violence that they they receive from men. I suppose we will not know if it was a crime of opportunity or planned until more information is released, my mind is just wandering so much with this case, poor Toyah.

"In June, Ms Cordingley shared a poignant screenshot of a tweet on her Facebook page.

It read: “I can only imagine the rage and fear women feel to see women die doing everyday mundane things like walking home … only to then be told it’s their fault and that they need to be more careful. Stop Blaming Women. Make Men The Issue”.

There has been another murder, this has occurred in Adelaide in a popular area out the front of a shopping centre. Woman has been killed for no apparent reason and is believed to be unknown to the man:

Man charged over woman's alleged murder at Adelaide shopping centre

The man in question is 20 years of age, I imagine the murder is not related, but I do wonder if the boldness of the attack on Toyah inspires these individuals to fulfil their wish to murder a woman. Again a brazen frequented area. RIP to both women.

The Police investigating were very quick to perfom DNA testing. If they have a strong DNA profile of the likely suspect/s, let's hope there is, at the very least, a familial DNA match confirmed some time very soon.

Hi all,
Those who are local, does Rusty's markets allow dogs? Also, does anyone know what suburb Toyah lived in? From Rusty's Markets it is 45 min by car to wangetti beach, I cant imagine she would have left her dog in the car while she shopped at the Markets. Was Toyah's house in between those two points? did she go home to collect the dog and arrange to meet with someone?

Either way it looks like she went well out her way to get there, on her FB is says she lives in Cairns which is about 40 minutes by car to Wangetti, if she went from Port Douglas it is still 30 minutes. When you have an entire coast line to pick from, why Wangetti? Also, if they have not found her belongings, like her phone, perhaps the perp asked to meet her there and has taken her phone to not implicate himself.

Even if the phone is missing, there should be records of any call logs and text messages on the Telco database.

true, if they are txt messages, but not imessages. Most of my texts are imessage apparently they will just show up as a data connection, just like me looking at a website or even the phone updating itself.

No cell phone coverage at the beach, but maybe they can ascertain if she called or texted or arranged to meet anyone before hand.

Yes, I hope they can find some information, however if it was imessage and arranged prior to getting to the beach it wouldn't show up with telco, just as data.

....
Cordingley was known to change her hair colour from time to time, with photos from her Facebook page showing her with purple and red hair, but as police work to track down potential witnesses, they have stressed that at the time of her death she had blonde hair.

Oh what? By her father? How traumatic and heartbreaking for him. Sending him, and all of Toyah’s family, friends and community prayers of strength and comfort in their time of grief x

Horrifying :( that is so heartbreaking

With her father finding her it seems to be either a regular walking spot for her or she let them know where she was going.

Has anybody got a link for Toyah’s Instagram account?

No I couldn't find it, you can see her Bf's though, however there does not appear to be many photos of her at all, just dogs.

It’s more often a woman is murdered by a person known to them.
In this article regarding the murder of of the woman in Adelaide it’s said it was random - “Police have described the attack as an apparently random murder with no clear motive“
But here it says - “Detective Chief Inspector Scott Fitzgerald said it appeared the man and woman did know one another”.
