The article I was just reading, indicates that although the police are talking hypothetically, they seem to be alluding to the nature of the attack and that there had been concerns with behaviours on the beach more recently--> EDIT sorry the link to the article is not working.
The only other avenue my mind wandered to, which I understand is far fetched, has been the incel mentality. If her below post on social media was public, it is just extremely coincidental that she would be murdered undertaking a very mundane activity. You only have to look at popular feminist writers social media to see the daily death threats and threats of sexual violence that they they receive from men. I suppose we will not know if it was a crime of opportunity or planned until more information is released, my mind is just wandering so much with this case, poor Toyah.
"In June, Ms Cordingley shared a poignant screenshot of a tweet on her Facebook page.
It read: “I can only imagine the rage and fear women feel to see women die doing everyday mundane things like walking home … only to then be told it’s their fault and that they need to be more careful. Stop Blaming Women. Make Men The Issue”.
