That article I just posted makes it sound really terrifying for Warriena - "trying to escape her attacker"

There's some truth coming out now.

GT had stated he recorded himself at nightclubs because of amnesia/alcoholic blackouts, yet others describe him drinking water and preying on girls who are probably, themselves, at blackout stage. He lives in a shadow world. He doesn't even trust himself, hence the recordings. I'm so sorry to hear that he had Rrie so terrified, and so sorry at the outcome. And then there is the car chase after the festival. He has been an accident waiting to happen. His mate, TO, who stands by him would be a real mate if he had told him to pull his head in awhile ago. This is the shadow world where coward punches happen. A bad place.

Police have until September 30th to outline their case.
Police have audio recordings of fighting in the unit and say they have a compelling case.
Warriena's family is still on the Gold Coast waiting for her body to be released next week.

Nine news.

A witness who saw Wright fall from the balcony at about 2.30am on Friday, August 8, called police but by the time officers arrived moments later at Avalon Apartments, Tostee was gone.

His parents, Mauritius-born businessman Gray Stuart Tostee, 63, and Helene, have maintained their media silence from the security of their gated community at Palms Meadows Estate at Carrera on the Gold Coast.

Inside the mind of Tostee, the self-styled ‘superhero

Re the "ex-girlfriend" - her words make it sound as if she only actually spent one evening with him imo......

Former girlfriend Lauren Midgley told Nine News that she didn't think he was a bad person.

“He invited me into his apartment and everything,” she said.

“[He] made me a drink and we just chatted and was always really nice and never, never horrible to me or pressured me in any way.

“I don’t think he would ever, ever hurt a girl. I never got that impression.”

So apparently the recordings were made on his iPhone......(bbm)

"3 News can reveal police believe the Wellington woman who died after falling from a Gold Coast balcony was trying to escape her attacker.

..............3 News can reveal police made the arrest after they discovered Tostee had audio recordings of the couple in the apartment on his iPhone. Police will allege Ms Wright fell to her death trying to escape from him."

I remember from another case on WS ... Apple have most/all of the data that people have on their iPhones, it is stored on the Apple cloud somewhere. Police just have to get a warrant for the discovery and release of that data, and it is theirs. So, no matter if Tostee had deleted the recording(s), Apple will still have it somewhere. Could be why there was a little bit of a delay after confiscating his devices - but even without the devices, police can gain access to the data.

Ah, thank you for that info SouthAussie :seeya:

Here is a thought, what if everything he recorded, and all the images were uploaded to a cloud storage or one drive type location, and the QPS has obtained access? They have stated they have a compelling case?? You don't see that sort of public display of confidence too often really.

apple-storage.jpg

An image from a presentation by Apple's late CEO Steve Jobs showing storage units inside the company's data center in Maiden, North Carolina.

Apple is storing user data in China using state-controlled China Telecom’s cloud storage services. Fuzhou city government’s website had a statement confirming the arrangement, but the page was removed it after the story broke.

iCloud is the Apple’s cloud storage service used for backing up all of its devices including iPhones and iPads. The company is most likely using China Telecom instead of its own data centers because Chinese regulations make it very difficult for a foreign company to build there.

Apple’s data centers are in Prineville, Oregon, Maiden, North Carolina, Newark, California, and in Reno, Nevada (a new site currently running at low capacity). It also uses colocation providers sparingly but says that most of its workload is served out of its own facilities.

The use of the word "retrieval" seems to indicate this as well:

Police will allege they have a compelling case against the 28-year-old, including the retrieval of recordings which detailed the interactions between the pair around the time of Ms Wright’s death.

I also wonder what they might have found at his parents' home, where they did seem to spend quite a bit of time. As well as CCTV footage of him arriving there etc, I wonder if he might have "hidden" any devices etc there when he arrived. There is a photo of forensic evidence is being collected at what seems to be near the front entrance of the home.

Did GT drive to his parents, have a friend pick him up, taxi or.. that night?

I have wondered if that was what the call to TO was about.

A 'come and get me call' or a 'where are you, out partying?' call ... then doing whatever before being dropped at his parents place much later.

Did GT often go to his parents home after a night out or did he go their to tell them what happened. Or did he act as if it was a normal night?
I know if my daughter came home here to sleep that late Id be wondering why and asking questions.

The times my daughter did come home late at night or early morning were because her ex had beaten her.

If you read his bodybuilding posts though, he doesn't have an iPhone and is anti-Apple products. He uses a tablet as a phone. And he's posted audio recordings on the bodybuilding site too.

Police have very good tech forensic scientists. They can retrieve stuff like you couldn't imagine.

I remember reading those posts, humije. Weren't they older posts? Can't remember the dates as I read from 2010 through to current - but for some reason I'm under the impression they are in the older batches. :dunno:

I'm not a big buyer of Apple products either .. but for Tostee's nefarious purposes, the iPhone is perfect. He may have bought into it, and NZ MSM seems to think so. Their info is usually pretty accurate in my experience and opinion. I have even seen them print retractions :thud: - an anomaly in this day and age.

Yep they most certainly can as we learnt in GBC's case.
