I wonder what the stats are on how many people innocent of murder, manslaughter or even an witness to an accident.
Leave the scene
Phone their lawyer within seconds.
Fail to phone the emergency services.
Steal the victims possessions.
Head of for a feed of pizza.

As you read this, ask yourself how long would it take for you to compose yourself and ring a lawyer if something bad happened on your watch.

( I wouldn't know where to start. I would ring police, then a friend/failing that probably Lifeline. )

I hope it's ok that I clipped your post :)

I doubt he was hungry, I sort of think the pizza was a calculated move in an effort to help remove possible "toxins" from the bloodstream. Since the police were already on the scene it couldn't have been an attempt at an alibi...I think his food was attempted medicine in this case. Or maybe a "last meal" before jail, since he had to know there was a pretty good chance he was headed that way :P

No its Ok that you clipped the post.
I certainly agree with the points you have made, in particular the alibi.
I guess the point I was really making was if you were truly not guilty of a crime why wouldn't you ring emergency services and hang around until they arrived?

Are his actions speaking louder than those words that were recorded?

Warriena's body was lying broken under his balcony.
She spend the last hours of her life with him.

He just drove away......with his father. :(
She was just left there......not a tear for her.

Just disgusting.

Good thinking. An alibi. 'I wasn't there occifer, I promise'.
I got witnesses from Dominos.

1.39am - GT tells Warreina that "Your phone must be out of battery." It must be out on the balcony."
He so wanted her on that balcony.
2.21am - He phones Mick Purcell from his handset.
2.23am - GT pulls on his jeans.
2.24am - he calls Warreina's phone. Why??
He then puts Warreina's phone in his jeans pocket and leaves the building.
2.47am - He again tries to phone Mick Purcell. Did he connect???
2.49am - He again calls Warreina's phone.
3.23am - He finally rings his father after ordering Pizza.
3.29am - He tells his father he has her phone in his pocket.
On both occasions his father suggested he ring Bill Potts (lawyer). He did not say I have already tried to ring Mick Purcell. (lawyer)
3.49am and 3.51am - He again rings Warreina's phone even though his father had advised him not too.

One hour and 2 mins before he rang his father. That's a long time IMO.

Just wondering if he didn't realise that Warreina's fall had been witnessed. He was going to use the excuse I had to get out she was drunk and going off, I left her on the balcony. I tried to phone her and ask if she wanted Pizza. When I went back to the building I saw all the police and panicked.
Sorry to quote myself
Mariel Van Arkle I had the same thought as you early on ie alibi. Did not consider your other points however.

Hello again all..finally made it to the end again...& my thoughts tonight has been whether he was on the balcony or not...
I keep thinking about the comments GT made to his father.
I forced her onto the balcony
I did not force her over the balcony.

Sounds consistent with the door unlocking (not necessarily opening)
and possible sounds of glass door being hit were recorded at 2.20am.

Is it possible they were still inside the unit at this time.

The following minute or so Rrie repeats numerous times "no, no" and pleads for GT to just let her go home.

The sound of the sliding door shutting is heard on the recording.

Is it possible that someone could actually pick a person up and place them on the rail around the balcony and walk away and slid the door closed?

Would this sound like thudding and scuffling.
I'm with you on this, it is possible he sat her up on the railing (his heavy breathing) and then went inside. So truth be told he didn't 'push' her or 'throw' her over, but she was as 'drunk as a skunk', why would he put her in harm's way? Warriena's legs were seen dangling from railing before the fall.
Ok, she may have sat herself there too, thinking what to do and swayed to and fro and fell. :dunno:

For the life of me, I can't understand why a relatively sober guy, which GT was, would shut Warriena out on the balcony? Did he want her to bang on the doors, beg to be let in. He knew that if he let her leave from the front door, he wouldn't see her again.

My brain is turning to mush. :sigh:
But I'm starting to lean to the idea he wasn't due to the statement made by a neighbour

“I then moved to the corner of my balcony and tried to look up to see what was happening above me,’’ she said. “I could see a girl climbing over the balcony from the unit above us. All I could see of her was her legs. One minute she was above me and then the next she was in front of me and then she was on the ground down the bottom.

So, if that is correct it seems as thou Warriena unfortunately made a choice to climb over the balcony...not that it changes anything. I guess its been a curiosity & focus of mine...that balcony grrrhh..

^ OMG..please forgive my 'quoting'. I clearly still haven't figured out how to quote properly on this smartphone :-(

Thank you Isis. I know we are here to sleuth this out ... but sometimes it almost seems disrespectful to Warriena, doesn't it? Because that night was so not her. So not the beautiful animal-lover who rescued animals, took care of her little sister, was so dearly loved by all of her friends, whose mother is a deacon in the church, the girl who had a very respectable job, enjoyed her sporting activities ...

But that night WAS so Tostee, from everything we have read on the BB forum and heard from the clubs and attempted Tinder contacts.

I understand what you're saying.....but even if Warriena was none of these things it wouldn't change the horror of her last moments. GT has to face up to whatever his role in her death was, regardless of Warriena's qualities. It makes no difference to me whether she was a saint or a sinner (figuratively speaking, lol).

Me neither, Brightbird. Whatever consenting adults do behind closed doors is of no concern to me whatsoever.

What Tostee does on that BB forum, posting illegally secretly recorded conversations and actions of girls alone with him in his apartment does bother me, however, as much as it bothers some of the other posters on same forum ... those poor girls.

Police evidently have good evidence that Warriena was in great fear of Tostee that night, otherwise they would not be charging him with murder following the precedence set in the earlier case referenced.

I just hate for Warriena's obviously inebriated (drugged? spiked?) actions to be broadcast, but realise it is necessary if his actions are to be analysed and prosecuted. :sigh:

And I think of her little sister, all the time, hearing this stuff. Hopefully the police liaison officer has braced her for it.

I hate that it's public knowledge as well. Reading here on websleuths I've pondered what it would be like if a family member ever died and became a "public interest" story. I think it would be traumatic. I've read the transcript a few times and don't reckon there's anything that reflects badly on her. But it must very hard for her loved ones who I imagine would want to protect her even in death.

Zolpidem / stillnox, could be the knock out drug he was looking for in the BB forum discussions. It can bring about some unpredictable behaviour, make user have sex and seem awake, mixed with vodka, deadly. It sounds to me like there is another chemical in the conversation.

"am psycho drunk" "Further conversation about galaxies, travel to Alice Springs, religion and gods" "go vampire on his 🤬🤬🤬" 'this is Australia baby. I am ninja' and 'no, no

A little about stillnox

Many patients reported committing a wide variety of activities (many hazardous) whilst sleeping, and not having any recollection of them (e.g. driving a car, sexual relations, and jumping off a balcony have been reported). This lead the ATGA to put a black box warning on the medication

I am finding it hard enough to read the entire transcript as just a member of the public. I cannot imagine the horror her family and friends must be experiencing. I know I have said it before, but this entire case is just incredibly hideous all round.

It is so sad that within 90 seconds the situation escalated to out of control status. The BBM is just horrific...that 30 seconds being heard in full would might shed more light. How loud was Rrie yelling and GT's breathing in context? Can you hear Tostee closer to the audio device and is it possible he was actually outside there with her and went back inside after and it is hard to hear on the recording? So many questions...although regardless Tostee needs to be punished for causing Rrie to be so terrified, assaulting her and causing her death either by pushing her, placing her on the balcony or balcony railing forcefully or causing her to climb away from him. I really think he may have been on the balcony with her after what has now been released to be honest..

"2.20am: Sound consistent with door unlocking. Female: “No.” Possible sound of glass door being hit.
2.20.30am: Male: “Who the (expletive) do you think you are? Hey?” Female: “No, no, no.”
Male: “You tried to kill me huh?” Male: “Well, why did you try and hit me with that. Huh? Shut your filthy mouth.”
Female: “No, no, no, no, no. (screaming).”
Male: “It is all on recording you know. It is all being recorded. Female: “Just let me go home.” Male: “I would but you have been a bad girl.” Sound of door sliding shut.
2.21am: “Just let me go home. Just let me go home.” Last words of “just let me go home”. Male heavy breathing. Faint scream detected. - could the scream be faint because she screamed towards the end of the fall and could still sound like that on the balcony? Therefore meaning he wasn't inside...
2.21.30am: Very heavy breathing from male."

I am sorry if these questions have been asked...

"In an interview with police, Emily Ellis, who lives two floors under Tostee, said she walked out to her balcony after hearing “thudding and scuffling’’ from above." - Was the the thudding and scuffling heard from the balcony or from in the apartment above as such? Also the neighbours did not mention the yelling of "Let me go home" - particularly the one that saw her fall so was that only heard because Tostee was near her and there is a listening device also on the balcony? I wonder if he has multiple microphones in different locations around the house and they activate when you are in different areas? They also could all be running at the same time.
And...

"Retiree Gabriele Collyer-Wiedner, who lives directly under Tostee, woke around 2am to what sounded like furniture crashing on the floor.

“After a little time there was a really loud bang from the unit above. It sounded like something really heavy being dropped on the floor,’’ she said." - I wonder if that was when he tackled her?

Q. If all the witness could see of Rrie was "her legs", how could she possibly know Rrie was climbing, rather than having been hoisted, over the railing?

Another scenario:

GT is known (re: previous links) for gasbagging/taunting previous victims. He may have developed a plan prior to or that very night to really get this girl going and then laugh about it later. So he talks repeatedly about the balcony, dying after falling, being pushed, and/or jumping from the balcony. Then he antagonizes Rrie until she is beside herself with fear and rage, steals her phone, and keeps her from leaving, tackles her, and pushes her towards the balcony sliding door. If she is screaming "NO NO NO" while she is INSIDE the unit, because she already fears being pushed from the balcony due to previous conversation and the escalation in violence and antagonism, and then he pushes her out and locks her out there, while she begs to just go home and is completely terrified that he will actually end up coming out and pushing her off, in that scenario I can see her trying to escape over the edge.

I can not see her screaming NO NO NO if she is already outside and he has gone inside already. If she's screaming NO NO NO outside, he still physically has his hands on her OUTSIDE IMO.

I'd imagine that if it was purely him tackling her without hitting furniture etc, it'd sound different. His apartment has carpet which would also affect the sound.
