Public Prosecutor Ben Power

"Mr Power said submissions that Tostee’s offending was caused by alcohol were not borne out by the evidence and that Gray Tostee’s actions on the night, in helping his son avoid immediate police attention, were “significant”."

I wonder what would have happened if mum was in town that night?

"Tostee’s parents, Gray and Helene, were not at Southport Magistrates Court yesterday to support him.

People charged with murder cannot apply for bail in the Magistrates Court and Tostee was formally remanded in custody until October 10."

The transcript of recording does not indicate that Dad made any reference to his son being drunk.

His son had told him that he had tackled a woman in his apartment then forced, shoved ......... her on to the balcony and thought he might have locked the balcony door.

Aware that the woman had plunged from the balcony his Dad asked "was she jealous"?

Odd question given the situation imo.

Dad didn't even ask the girls name it seems.

My 28 year old son rings me from Domino pizza at 3:23 am in the morning and tells me he might have a bit of a situation, he thinks his date has jumped from his 14th floor balcony.

He then continues babbling I forced, shoved, pushed, tackled ........... I think I locked the door.

I can say with certainty that I would have been asking questions and lots of them.

Why didn't you ring me straight away?
Why did you leave the unit?
Why have you got her bloody phone ?
Why ?
Why ?
Why ?

Unless of course I knew/thought I was being recorded. imo

another odd thing to say IMO. :waitasec:

Dad: "It will. You had no motive for you to hurt her."

Dad: "It will. You had no motive for you to hurt her."

Very odd Amee

Tostee "I do have photo's of me and her"
"I don't have proof of her being aggressive though"

Dad "Well when the truth comes out"

Tostee HOW?

Dad "It will you had no motive to hurt her"

Big call from dad, given we now know his son claims to have been protecting himself from that mysterious heavy swinging metal object. imo

Sooooooo normal to want to sleep with so many women, and keep count. :hilarious:

Times have not changed.
There has always been a majority who want a solid relationship and the love and caring of a life partner.
There has always been a minority who do not want a solid relationship, or are unable to maintain one.

No need to make unwarranted assumptions about age and awareness. Maturity, insight, and awareness of other people is all that is needed to figure this out.

We know that he is in the minority group, even among those that he considered his peer group - till they classified him as a former member. But even in that minority group, he is a minority in needing/wanting to rack up a big tally of women - if he did indeed rack up a big tally of women - if that was not just wishful thinking and embellishment.

Obviously GT is the normal one and we're out of touch old geezers, SA. Not trying to brag, but I'm known as quite the vixen Bingo nights at the Elks Lodge. I think my orthopedic shoes and support hose really scream "I'm single and ready to mingle while dying alone with my cats! Ow my neck! My back!"

BBM - Tostee just goes ahead and calls anyway.

Compulsive. He has to do it, he can't help himself.

And the faux "shock" when he finds Rrie's phone in his pants is cringe-worthy.

4.07-4.15am - The pair discuss where Dad will park the car. Gable says it should be stopped in a residential area and not a shopping centre because "they will do patrols".

Gable Tostee expresses his anxiety about contacting their lawyer and about his father stopping the car at a service station or shopping centre, saying 'just go to a house, there are cameras at servos' and 'just like park next to some bushes ... park on the street next to a fence that way no one will see'.

It just seems it is more about what Tostee did not say to his father given the situation.
Dad
* She was screaming no ,no ,no.... neighbours would have heard.
* She was swinging a heavy metal object at me.
* Look at my cuts, bruises blah, blah ouch!
* She was going psycho.
* I saw her on the other side of the balcony and she disappeared.
* I do or do not know how she got over there so quickly
* Darn, darn, darn I have her phone I must have a b or c
imo

Detective Superintendent Dave Hutchinson said police had seized security footage from Mr Tostee’s parents’ house but had not gleaned any information from him.

He has elected to undertake his right to silence,” Detective Superintendent Hutchinson said.

As with any CCTV, we’re just looking at trying to verify or determine the movements of different people at various times.”

Do we know how long and where GT and daddy parked the car to chat?

Tostee's dad did mention in the car "do you need to go to the hospital" and he said no. Wouldn't you want ALL of those injuries/abrasions etc documented?
