Yet after complaining that she'd had "too much to drink", he gave her more.

And, in the defence's view, decided the safest place for BOTH of them was to lock her on the balcony. No risk there...just imagine it was one of your family...

Blatantly obvious Tostee is still roll playing for the tape with that comment, among many others.

Yes, she was clearly very drunk. Precisely why he shouldn't have forced her out onto a balcony.
Yes, very sad and scary.

GT was thinking about GT. Warriena mentioned the police and I think that was her undoing. Can anyone imagine an intoxicated person in a high rise club and the bouncers threw the drunkard out onto the balcony? Who does that? Someone who fears the police and is a control freak, that's who. JMO

It's a pity that she was so drunk, causing her to not be thinking straight......Did he actually put her over the railing or was it her choice to do so?.......She probably lost her balance & couldn't hang onto the balcony railing any longer, causing her to fall to her death...... She would have been scared out of her mind.

All she needed to do was to scream out "HELP" to the neighbours UNTIL SHE WAS HEARD BY THEM...... Neighbours would have called the police to come to her rescue, arrested him, taken him to the watchouse & laid assault charges, but as we know he went out for pizza & was not in his apartment when she actually fell.......So sad.

I have been in a similar situation, but I had not been drinking when my partner who was drunk & violent (as I was a victim of domestic violence in the relationship at the time).....I was in a highrise apartment only on the 3rd level.....I raced out onto the balcony, screamed for help...... A neighbour from another unit balcony heard my cries for help & called the police...... Police were on their way.......I remained on the balcony until the police arrived......They arrested him & took him away to be charged......They issued him with an AVO & I moved away the following day never to return again......There is help out there if you scream out for help.

Such a pity that "W" didn't have the same opportunity as me to escape from such a shocking tragedy......My heart goes out to her family....MOO.

Very often the delay in help arriving, whether it be a neighbour or emergency services, is too little too late. Seconds can mean the difference between a person surviving an assault. He could have been out that door in a flash - that was why she tried to escape IMO.

I thought the person had just said something like- You can't come down this way. I didn't think there was a conversation. I'd have to go back and look to be certain though.

Below are the tweets I was referring to.

Mr Casey says when he first saw her, it looked as though she had secured her feet on concrete ledge. "Get back inside," he told her. #tostee

Mr Casey told her, you can't come down this way. She said again "I want to go home". Then fell. #tostee

Going by Mr, Casey's testimony, Warriena and him did have a conversation, albeit brief. She wasn't hanging when he first glanced up at her. According to him, it looked like her feet were secure on the concrete ledge. I believe this is why the prosecutor has said from the start they do not believe GT placed Warriena over the rail or threw her off the balcony.

Yes, I too feel bad for Warriena's whanau. I think the majority on this thread do. :(

Would you physically be able to converse whilst hanging on for dear life 14 floors up?

I agree with other statements about the disappointing evidence given by prosecution. No expert witnesses for analysis of voices & gurgling/ choking noises, no mention / testing of home distilled vodka & where is behavioural analysis in Aus? Defence is certainly going there

I feel so bad for her family :(

Really? Not what I got from the prosecution's closing statement.

God theory.. This would explain why her screams of No, no get more distressed and desperate toward the end. Not to mention being at that height on a balcony with only a 1.2m (dont quote me on it) railing that would be extremely frightening. Especially if you aren't sure of what he is about to do with you.
