You nailed it right on the head. I too thought the very same thing. Pretty ironic how the time stamped pics were being discussed at the inquest and all of a sudden the judge halts everything. Coincidence I don’t think so. Moo
I added to that post Mauig after you quoted it FYI x

Wouldn't the hearing be a Crime Commission hearing? Seeing that she is charged with misleading the Crime Commission?

imo

I interpret the same as JLZ. The charges are in regards to a hearing about Williams disappearance according to this article. I don't think the crime commission held a hearing into the disappearance of William? I could be wrong, it's happened before!

according to the article I linked above #post 774
it is the inquest.

Didn't the inquest stop abruptly and the questioned time stamped pictures where what was being discussed? The spiderman suit pics on the deck.

Speculating ....Have those pictures been discredited?

That would tie it all up together why it stopped suddenly and why she is being charged with lying to the inquest.
Him too.

ALTHOUGH ONE WOULD THINK THAT WOULD BE TAMPERING WITH EVIDENCE CHARGES....
just thinking out loud.

William Tyrrell's foster mother, who denies giving misleading or false information to the NSW Crime Commission.

The charges relate to evidence the 56-year-old gave during a hearing into William's disappearance from his foster grandmother's home.

hmmmm....moo

The inquest was never suddenly stopped because of the submission swift made re the photos at all.

Right.
would you care to let us know what was,for clarity?

I guess I am wondering why she is charged with misleading the Crime Commission, as opposed to being charged for perjury at the inquest. If she told a lie at the inquest.

Yes, you could be right, because:

The NSW Crime Commission works alongside NSW Police and can hold hearings and supply evidence to courts to facilitate prosecutions.

I'm thinking the crime commission asked her to clarify her evidence at the inquest in view of . . . I don't know, perhaps her other statements, perhaps other things, they've asked her several times from different angles and she's contradicted herself.

Right.

I'm not sure what you are asking?

You stated that the inquest was suddenly stopped because of the photos, which I pointed out is not correct.

my post wasnt a statement it was a question....for clarity.

what was the cause of the abrupt finish to the inquest if not what I suggested.

The last session in Taree was cut short due to Covid, that was the only session that was cut short.

I think you'll find the Photo was questioned at least a year prior to the Inquest ending/stopping. This article is dated Sep, 2019.

Until NSW Coroner Harriet Grahame’s urgently ordered forensic examination takes place, it is unclear if the time was corrected to 9.37am to cater for, say, the camera itself being set on the wrong time.

Whereas the Inquest ended in Oct, 2020 as per this article.

The inquest closed on Thursday and Deputy State Coroner Grahame will review more than 18 months of evidence before handing down her findings mid-way through next year.

An investigation has been launched into the last known photograph of missing boy William Tyrrell, following doubt over the exact time the photo was snapped.
But there is confusion over the digital time stamp linked to the photograph, would could potentially disrupt the timeline of William's case.

A document inside the brief of evidence at the inquest revealed a "created time" for the image of 7.39am, and a "corrected time" of 9.37am.

There was definitely stops about this photo.

Could be from theinquest hearing the year before. Looking at this article.

Definately could be the smoking gun of charges IMO.

Yes just posted same thing.

So sounds like a separate hearing, not the inquest.

It sounds to me like the abrupt finish was due to the time stamp on the photo - bbm.

"The Australian
reported that an application to have the apparent time stamp discrepancy on the photo examined was made in court not long before the inquest was suddenly adjourned."

  • #797
So if FM said xyz during the inquest and then during the crime commission hearing said abc, could the crime commission assume she told the truth at the inquest but lied during the crime commission hearing?

Even if they thought the lie was told at the inquest by charging her for lying to the crime commission could they be trying to trip her up?

Yes this happened but then the inquest did resume for a period of time and then had to finish because of covid.

yes SJ appears the inquest session did come to an abrupt finish your right because of the timestamp on the photo.
(not the very last one the one before)

I am not aware that we were ever told the results of the investigation which is why I suspect that's what the charges could pertain to.

MOO

Yes I can definitely see that as being a possibility. Another scenario I have wondered about is whether the FM may have said abc during the crime commission hearing, yet the FF said XYZ to the same question during the crime commission hearing.
