Hmmm, if sex crimes have joined, I wonder how long it will be until homicide is brought in?

... They have spent 5 days assuming he wandered off on his own and have come up with absolutely nothing.
Today the sex crimes unit joins the investigation - so it has got me thinking have they got some kind of evidence or something to go on that prompted this?

An email from the public with information?? I wonder why they waited until NOW to send it?!! The story has been in the news for five days! Could also be someone jumping on the sex crimes or abduction 'bandwagon' I guess.

Yes, it usually seems to go from missing person to homicide investigation doesn't it? Does seem a bit unusual that sex crimes is involved. That's very specific. Whether it means something I really have no idea. It'd be interesting to hear an opinion from someone with insight into what it may mean from an LE perspective.

Strike Force Rossann has been formed to investigate the disappearance. It's understood this includes the State Crime Command's Sex Crimes Squad and specially trained investigators who are experienced in the unexplained disappearances of young children.

The investigation has been widened to include the possibility that someone came in and out of the area.

"We are appealing for anyone who saw any people or vehicles in the vicinity of Benaroon Drive or in the Kendall township on Friday to contact police," Superintendent Fehon said.

We are not ruling out any possibilities, investigators are exploring every possible avenue of inquiry."

If it was an abduction and someone did come in and out of the area why William and who knew William and his family were there? Or just a pure coincidence?

If he was abducted I feel it has to be a local , or someone who knew him.
If he really was only outside for 5 mins, the odds of a stranger happening to come along in those few minutes and not being seen must be remote.

If the police are considering an abduction I'd assume we will see an appeal by a family member soon.
I am keeping an open mind on this one and not jumping to my usual conclusions, he looks a well cared for, happy little boy.

I am leaning towards it being a local perp as well. But I was thrown a bit to hear that this was the very first time he had played in his Grandmas front yard. I had imagined that a neighbor had watched over time, waiting for the opportunity. But 5 minute window? That seems very small window of opportunity.

The perp would have had to be driving by at the perfect moment, or watching form afar. And we know LE already knocked on the doors. Especially any ones that had a view of the front yard. Very baffling and sad case so far.

I wonder where the 5 minutes came from? Is it from the adults who saw the sister come in and go to the toilet? Or from the sister herself? Kids aren't always a great judge of time, so it may have been 15-20mins.
That poor little girl must be just devastated.

Father of two missing NSW boys arrested

THE father of two missing boys has been arrested but his two sons remain unaccounted for on the NSW north coast.
JAYDEN and Joseph Brady disappeared from a Tweed Heads home in the early hours of Sunday morning and were believed to be with their father.
The 38-year-old was arrested by police on Monday on the suspicion he had breached a court order which prevents him from seeing the children.
Police said he was not cooperating with authorities.
Authorities hold serious concerns for the two boys and are appealing to the public to help locate them.
Jayden, 14, is described as being of Caucasian appearance, between 120 and 140cm tall with a thin build, brown hair and eyes.
Joseph, 11, is also between 120 and 140cm tall with a thin build and brown hair.
Police urge anyone with information of their whereabouts to contact Triple Zero.

Fears deepen for missing NSW toddler

After days without a trace of the young boy, who was dressed in a bright red Spiderman suit, specialist police including officers from the sex crimes squad, were brought in.

Known sex offenders in the area have been contacted to confirm their whereabouts at 10.30am last Friday.

Superintendent Paul Fehon said police were baffled.

I was wondering about the age of Williams sister, in the media I have seen her refered to as his sister and lots of times as his younger sister, which would make her about 2 or a wee bit older.

Yet here im sure someone posted the sister was older than him. Can anyone confirm Williams sisters age? As always my thoughts and prayers are with his family for a safe and good outcome to this.

SBS news tonight said William was playing on the balcony.
It showed the house with what I'd call a balcony. The land contours down at the back of the house which leaves quite a high covered back verandah.

I'm really disappointed that who dies on a tv show is of higher importance than William according to a certain news site.

If he has been abducted, realistically it is probably someone known to the family yeah? It isn't a main thoroughfare so the chances of someone happening to drive past like murderer Cowan did is pretty small.

I think you are 100% correct ...regardless of what age they report the sister.... most recent pics suggest at a minimum she is at least three year older than William. Younger brother roughly one year younger...and mum very heavily pregnant as "blessed" commented on.

I'd really like to know how common it is for 4X4 enthusiast to use that street as an entry point to the Kendall State Forest - by Google earth it appears to have been used frequently...hopefully police are appealing to the 4x4 community for information.
