Not sure if the YouTube video of when he was showing all the things for sale in his shop is still up, he sounds exactly the same. I can't get over how he didn't even look at the camera once. I'm sure no lawyer would have suggested doing this.
Exactly. If it were a lawyer's suggestion it would have been written much more professionally!

So, I am not sure if the release of this video was meant for MSM, or for the private (but closed) group.

Regardless, I feel that he was wanting to correct the incorrect reporting...and all he could say was that he was not in the WT house nor Benaroon Dr other than the (9th..was it?) and the 18th. mmm

Why would you not take the opportunity to say ...I went here that day, then there, and the next day went..here/there....How about easing the minds of people who really do find him suspicious? How about telling us more about everything? (I doubt he checked with the Police prior to releasing the video, so he probably wasn't advised what to say, or what not to say)
.
What he didn't say was so much more telling.........all those gaps........He has just missed a great opportunity to clear his name of this crime, yet still he remains a POI. (perhaps not the only POI, but at least the most visible POI).

MOO. of course.

That's my thoughts too. He could of elaborated on the other things like Spider-Man toy, bank statement etc but he didn't. Maybe too complicated? I just don't know....

I do find the mothers comment about whether bill Spedding knew William was there and she said she did not know. Surely if she believed it was bs she would of said yes or no. Unless she was told what to say which I guess she was in part she may genuinely be the same as many people. She just does not know.

Also the article about the possible sighting of a child and adult in Queensland who both fitted the description the police are looking for leans towards bs innocence.

I don't know obviously if bs is involved but just for arguments sake he isn't. I can imagine he would just be sitting at home angry, bitter and miserable. He's lost his business, his foster grandchildren and the whole country is talking about him. He probably does not trust the media as has already tried to sue them and wants everyone to know it's not him. He's fed up. So that was his way of getting his version out on his own terms maybe.

If he is guilty however I'm more confused as to why he would post the video. He does not give much detail except the dates of the visit. He could of elaborated on his alibi etc? It was not a detailed defence.

I'm more inclined I think to say involved as he did not elaborate but not sure. His behaviour on the video does not imply he is more guilty though IMO. He was reading a script so clearly no eye contact and slipped up on a few words but nothing significant. It's like it's a media game from both sides.

I agree if innocent he has every right to tell it from his own point of view. He should be shouting from the rooftops he had nothing to do with WT's abduction.
And as you say if guilty wouldn't he be keeping a very low profile? I guess that depends on how brazen he is?

Like a couple of other websleuthers out there,,,,, I too wondered "to what gain" was this video all about?

Yes, someone was allegedly wandering around his yard on Monday night and he was scared. Poor thing.

This is about an alleged Paedophile. This is all about BS. (in BS mind, the world revolves around HIS universe)
We know this case is about WT, but in our POI's mind, to speddo, it's all about HIM.

I didn't know he was a convicted pedophile for sure, wow.

I think BS will get the opportunity to answer all those questions in court if he is something to do with this crime.

And while I stand on my soap box....

(and forgive me all if you don't agree, I am just sounding off...)

Why? why?, why? not tell us about the cars and 4wd, and why not tell us the colour of it? Post 877 from Found summed that up nicely for me thank you Found. I agree with you completely.

But my frustration level rose to a new and higher level after the release of that information on 60 Minutes, and the following information.
We are told something by the Police (media reports it, I believe it..) only to find out that is NOT what happened.....partial information being fed to the media - now I am sceptical of everything I hear about this case (and a few others). I certainly don't trust the media. And I certainly cant trust the police to share what they know (because it would ruin the investigation, yes I know, but I get very annoyed about that). I do know that the Police do a darn marvellous job, so don't take that comment the wrong way....

I just want answers, and I wanted those answers about a YEAR ago.

Interesting that the media left BS alone all that time, now they are hounding him. Why do you suppose?

Does anyone know exactly when BS made the video and when it was put out there for the public?

You make some very good points and agree with what you say.

Just want to clarify...post 884.

not convicted, up for alleged indecent assault charges.....just wanted to make sure that you know IMO, BS thinks everything is about BS.

Cheers

The VIDEO by BS could have tried to explain this one....(but didn't)

"It is understood in the days after William disappeared, and as hundreds of volunteers searched for the toddler in surrounding bushland, Mr Spedding's work whitegoods van was spotted in the Kendall street outside William's grandmother's home.It sat alone among police and emergency services cars. - "

i didnt know bs was asked by police to go and fix the machine? wonder why they diid that? is that why his van was spotted there in the days after?

Fehon says while the initial focus was on finding “young William” in the bush, a team of investigators had looked at other possibilities “from day one”

Benaroon Drive has been closed off to the public, but on Thursday morning, after phoning the family to make sure it was OK, Fehon agrees to show a small group of reporters around.

The command centre has been set up at the house.

Thursday morning being 18th September

http://www.theaustralian.com.au/new...064608526?sv=625ffbcecbc1a0de87b17eff75e8197c

Mr Spedding took part in a 10-page recorded interview with detectives soon after little William l went missing on the day the tradesman was due to fix the toddler’s grandmother’s washing machine.
His whitegoods repair van was seen parked in the quiet Kendall street alongside those belonging to police and emergency workers involved in the investigation in the days after William disappeared on Friday, September 12 last year.

bear I am sure I saw/heard it said police called BS to return and repair the washer. I will keep looking, I could have been dreaming.

However this article .. does indicate that the street was closed of to the public. So it could be assumed that police would have had to know and approve for BS to enter the closed off street, regardless of who made the call for him to return. I doubt the family would not have requested he return without police suggestion or OK.
Given BS confirmed in his video that he returned on Thursday the 18th Sept to repair the washer. I wonder if the reporters interview and washer repair were not happening at the same.

Could BS's interview have taken place on the 18th as well at the command post.

imo

Very interesting that they invited media to the scene for the first time the same day they had BS come repair the washing machine. It's almost as if they wanted a picture of his van to be printed in the media ;)

Really quite disappointed with the late information given in the 60 Minutes report.

A few cars parked somewhere a year ago would be impossible to remember to the casual observer who hasn't remembered so far.

Unless the two cars where indeed two people known to each other, and a third party recognises the combination. In which case why not release the information earlier.

Don't have much confidence the police have many strong leads. The paedophile angle is scary, but seems to just fill the empty spaces as much as anything.

Would be very surprised if BS is convicted, given what the judge has said so far. Anyone noticed the number of supposed terrorists that have been released recently, it's potentially a similar situation of over reach with little evidence. Will wait and see. If he is actually guilty of historical crimes I sure hope they can dig something up to corner him.

Until then, we are barking at shadows.

Poor William, most likely, as been taken or accidentally killed in purely isolated and coincidental circumstances, and given the lack of progress in the case I am starting to think there is very little trail to prevent this becoming a cold case.

Any vehicle or any person coming into Benaroon Drive is conspicuous. The neighbours all know each other and each other’s vehicles — strangers and strange vehicles are noticed.

There were reports someone had dropped into the local general store and asked for directions to Benaroon Drive. Fehon says they are glad to receive all information and have followed up all leads, but, tellingly, no alert has been issued about that person or their vehicle. If there was solid evidence, they would want to get it out to the public.

I don't want to believe that butterstick - got to have hope.

Daniel Morcombe's accused killer (Brett Cowan) casually told undercover police officers posing as criminal gang members he was an "opportunistic offender", a court has heard.

Brett Cowan admitted he's opportunistic like it was a part of his trade in a resume.
I'd be surprised if a creep would lie in wait for days, but it's possible if they liked to perv.
Like Daniel, Little William was there at the wrong time where evil was.
Brett Cowan described Daniel as 'a real cutie'. Opportunistic, lazy filth like the mongrel who STOLE William.

William was snatched in front of his home, his parent was just around. How dare these perpetrators have became!

I don't really see how it matters whether or not dad was home.
You have a good point ninja.
If the abduction was planned it would probably be easier job with dad gone IMO. But if a spur of the moment idea then I don't see it making a difference.

In April, The Daily Telegraph reported that Mr Spedding had denied to both police and family members that he was due to be at William’s grandmother’s home on the morning the Spiderman fan went missing.
It was also revealed at the time that Spedding had claimed to relatives that William’s grandmother told him she was expecting a visit from the child and his family later in the week and needed her washing machine fixed in anticipation

Meanwhile, William’s family revealed they believe the owners of the two parked cars which police revealed they were seeking information about may have been involved in William’s disappearance or may know who took him.

On Sunday, police revealed on 60 Minutes they were seeking information about a white station wagon and a grey sedan, seen parked near William’s grandmother’s Benaroon Drive home in Kendall on the day he went missing. “And I kick myself, I kick myself in terms of why didn’t I note down the number plates,” William’s mother said.
