Hmmm... repairing washing machines.......collecting scrap metal.....

Wonder if they are covers for other activities?

Just way too many coincidences here. I think (hope) Jubelin is getting closer.

Sorry, missed quote - This was in reply to msadventure's #408:

"Mr Nichols said he was on the child protection register for crimes committed in Victoria. He said he was living in Dunbogan when William went missing and said he did not know anybody connected to the case.

It is the second time the tiny town of Dunbogan, south of Port Macquarie, has been provided as an alibi to police.

Tradesman Bill Spedding, who also denies any involvement, told detectives he was repairing a washing machine in Dunbogan shortly after William went missing."

What are the odds?

Is this guy on a public registry? I tried MAKO files but no luck.

Mr Nichols’ denial comes as another roadblock emerged for police in their investigation. It can be revealed no evidence was discovered in a car seized from a paedophile on the state’s mid-north coast in September.

Forensic testing of a white station-wagon belonging to convicted child molester Tony Jones failed to turn up any trace of William or clues about his disappearance

Well there's the answer to the lingering question about the station wagon....

Maybe this guy drove the other vehicle that police were looking for?

When will it be revealed what forensic testing of BS vehicles turned up?
We know there was a spiderman toy found but wasn't it MS that informed the media of that?

I haven't posted here for a long time but William has been in my thoughts. It's always sad when there's a lull in news about William but you know for his family there is never a lull in their agony.

I was in the area recently. Every shop has a flyer in their window about William. Spedding still lives in the same place (I'm surprised he hasn't moved house after everything that has gone down!)

I read today the forensics came back clear on all the cars (edit: incorrect, I didn't read the article thoroughly - it only mentioned the station wagon - Tony Jones.)

I hope the police have a breakthrough soon. Does anyone know when Spedding goes on trial for the historical case?

I honestly feel that the most vital clues re William*s disappearance were lost on the first few days of the search, due to secrecy around William*s troubled life and the foster parents not being able to speak. Bruce Morcombe also feels the same. Their friend Nicole was the first and only person to speak to the media on behalf of the foster parents in the very early days. There are too many layers to this case. MY OPINION ONLY !!!

“We’ve been advised to not set up a room for him because it gives false hope for not only his sister but for us,” his mum said.

 I can understand this. These people are in a living hell. They not only have their small son missing, they also know the likelihood of what has happened to him. Whatever they need to do to maintain their sanity and put one foot in front of the other each day .......

I feel the same way. I wish I didn't. I don't feel completely hopeless on the case but it's a drawn out long shot. I look every day for updates on this precious child. JMO.

From Germany posted this in post #398 of this thread about Spedding's next court date for the historical case.

11-19-2015, 08:12 AM #273 sleepinoz's (thread #19)

I hear BS's next court date is 17th Feb, 2016 - If this is correct it won't appear on the court lists for a while.

Thanks for all your updates they are much appreciated. Please let 2016 be the year William's case breaks open. I'm really pleased William has not been forgotten in the community.

Unfortunately Mako only has a very small number of paedophiles listed. It's a shame that it doesn't have all of them.

It says they've been "advised" not to rather than choosing not to to for their own sanity. No criticism of the family but I find it very strange advice to have given them. I can't read the article, do they mean they got rid of all his things from the room he already had or have they moved house and are just not "setting up" a room for him there?

There is no mention of a removal. - I remember to have read here on WS about an extended renovation or something?

Have there been any thoughts here about the 2 suspicious cars seen in the street, and how they tie in with Spedding possibly arriving at the house the same time to look at the washer?

The police have said it was opportunistic, but it sounds coordinated to me.

The alibis that the POIs have given still leave room for them to have all met up on the day of the disappearance. From what I have read only Spedding has given the name of another person to back up his alibi, his wife, and police seem to be throwing out a lot of thinly veiled messages to her.

Agree...there was some criticism on other forums about the FP having renovations done on their house after William was taken. I would say at a guess that these renos probably meant new rooms for the kids....hence the comment about not setting a room up for him. And probably was a reno already planned before he was taken. However the FP seem to be the target for a lot of criticism lately....interesting that they are the targets and not any other people in his little life.

its interesting police have reported the negative forensic results on the white station wagon, but still no word on whether bs mattress car and computer etc were cleared?

I agree bearbear...in this case it always seems to be what is 'not said' is way more interesting than what actually is said.

the parents may have just packed up his toys and clothes etc and put them in storage and now use the room for something else?

Derek Nichols does seem to be very involved in the community:
http://www.mycommunityconnect.com.au/?rt=event&event_id=35258

Hmmmmm. That gave me a thought. If this is the same man I wonder if he may have met William's grandma since she is also so active in the community. They may have conversed in the past and she may have mentioned that she has grand kids. Or perhaps he had seen William at a town function...

Mr Nichols said he had nothing to do with the four-year-old’s disappearance and is not connected to William’s family.

Does not clarify if he has met William or his family in the past
