and today we hear of Karen's fate .. Why oh Why ... people under questioning .. We don't yet know..
I just can't help wondering why those people are available for suspicion / questioning / bla bla ..
Honestly, our judicial system needs an overhaul .. As a society we need to get real as far as what is acceptable and what is not.
And what are the consequences for non compliance..
F$&? how many of us on here are Parents?
How tuff was it for us to be responsible & genuinely caring parents, and weather the storm that came with it?
And how many of us can now look back and say, OMG, how hard was it, but at the same time, how proud are we of the decent, contributing people our kids are now?
My point being (and of course this is all just my opinion & thought sharing, and welcoming communication)
CONSEQUENCES for overstepping the acceptable boundaries that govern our society are important at all ages and levels.
We put our 2 year old in a corner for thought & reflection on consequences - no toys, no engagement, no option to move until time is up.
At the same time, we place our Murders, Rapists, Pedophiles, Child Molesters, Child Abusers & Domestic Violence perpretators in a situation that is all about 'their rights ' ... what they want to eat, to view, to have at their finger tips for exercise and study, for 'protection' .. Can you believe!!
IMO, they gave up those rights when they chose to ignore the basic human principles of behavior.
in saying this, I acknowledge the abhorrent situations that some of these preparators have been exposed to & become accustomed to - however, also in saying that, there is nothing for me that says that these people do not know right from wrong, acceptable from unacceptable. The very fact that they go to such lengths to conceal their behavior, exposes this fact IMO.
The most resounding lessons for me have been those that were hardest learnt, and no matter what way I analyse, it all comes down to 'consequences'.
Even when I look at the beginning of Australia's non-indigenous population, and what this country has become in that time, I see that as a result of stringent 'consequences'.
My huge concern is for the 'cheapness' that seems to being rapidly applied to human life, however, I do not find that 'cheapness' to be consistent with what the majority of our constituents want for this country.
At the risk of repetition, but mindful of rules, I emphasise, all of this is just my opinion.
In saying that, if these sentiments are shared overwhelmingly, I do believe that we need to have a Voice before it is too late to save the values that we have treasured and allowed us to feel safe.
