The shortest route between BS house and Kendall and back has number plate recognition cameras on the Highway. The police would know if his vehicle used that Highway on the day in question, unless he went the long way or if he didn't go at all.

I think you'll find that it was stated that BS was supposedly at the Buzz Cafe in Laurieton at 10:00am and not 10:30am. That is if you believe that he was at the Buzz Cafe at all.

Colin said he had downloaded a copy of Mr Spedding's bank card statement, which showed a purchase at the cafe about 10am on September 12.

There have been many discrepancies as to who phoned whom on the Friday morning. Some reports state that BS missed a call from the grandmother that morning. Other reports state that BS was the one to phone the grandmother that morning and could not reach her. Then apparently BS phoned the grandmother later in the day and William's mother answered the call telling BS that it wasn't convenient for him to come by that day. Obviously the search for William was in full swing by then.

Inconsistencies galore, Makara.

Same publication, one day prior:

'Mr Spedding is understood to have told police that, at the time the toddler disappeared, he was having coffee with his wife in nearby Laurieton.

Yes, if he had been stupid enough to use his own vehicle Ralph.

Ralph can you tell us a bit about the camera, such as its location and how it works.

Like does it only talke pictures if someone is speeding or is it part of a point to point radar reading .....
meaning it will only take in the rego of a car that has been detected speeding when its crossed between two camera locations.

I'm not Ralph but I think he means the latter. And from experience I think you need to be really flying before you get done.
It could be that no photos are taken if you don't trip the system by speeding.

I wonder if police queried the route he had taken? If so...

Plate recognition cameras can scan number plates then tell if the car rego is out of date. It may also see if the owner is driver is unlicensed. Depends

Police must have asked him this,

Yes, if he had been stupid enough to use his own vehicle Ralph.

Two years ago a major player in the South-West Sydney gang wars was declared disbanded by police, just months before William disappeared. SoufWest Kings and Smurf Village Boys seem to be of particular interest in the Port Maquarie/Campbelltown/Ryde areas

I don't think he's the paedophile I was thinking of; for one thing as he wasn't on the register, police probably wouldn't have been looking for him. Very interesting though. Since he was 'detained' by Australian police in December, I wonder if they checked his alibi against William's disappearance. I wonder if he has connections in the Port Macquarie region.

The article mentioned him transporting a boy in Thailand by motorbike. It made me think of William's attraction to bikes and the track up the hill to the cemetery and other places.

He doesnt have a Port Macquarie connection but he does have a Northern Sydney beaches
connection, where he was living after being deported from Indonesia in April 2014 until he
left Australia sometime in late 2014/early 2015 and went to New Zealand.

Thanks bb. The guy who escaped and was found in Brazil had an alias but the dates don't match as far as I can work out. I am despairing of finding the article about the NZ RCSO I read about again.

we actaually flew from Melb to New Castle then drove to Port Macquarrie the day William vanished ( cheaper to do it that way ) was surprised my MIL for her 70th birthday.

I remember very early on in the investigation that Williams family TOO surprised his grandmother with a visit..... only bringing g this up as she may not have mentioned to BS that her family was coming up from Sydney?

Um, Crabby I confused here. How do you know it was the grandmother's birthday? I have never seen that mentioned anywhere.

I'm sorry for leading you on what seems to be a 'wild goose chase' regarding the NZ newspaper article I either failed to bookmark or lost. I can't seem to find a reference to it now. I find it hard to believe he would have taken William back to NZ as he was on the run from police. Hopefully, Australian investigators have contact with their overseas counterparts and access to intelligence about international child sex offenders who may be in Australia at the time William disappeared.

Cheers, Bo x
