Maybe he's got something on her too, TGY? Or at least on her family. Perhaps a 'significant other' could be complicit? Just IMO.

True sweet P&G.
Both enabling each other.
As long as he provided she was happy. There's many women like this out there.

Cops are human & make mistakes but this was a massive oversight.
I hope this tripe doesn't happen in William's case.

I have been going over all my older posts and messages trying to find a particular message with some interesting info which I'm not sure was posted or discussed. MS cousin is listed as a cousin of a resident on Benaroon Drive. I find that either a huge coincidence or a little bit to close to home .

i reckon Det Jubelin is right into al these 'coincidences'. IMO the early clearances mean nothing at this stage of the investigation and everyone is fair game. .. Woe will be the fait of the perpretator!

Wonder if all of the info required in the first subpeona (returned today) wasn't returned, so they have another week to get it all together.

:dunno: But there have been 4 return of subpoena dates now.
6 - 13 - 20 - 27 April.

Ahh ... one each week for a month. That's interesting. Slowly getting the info in, or info coming from multiple sources.

I wonder what it could be ...... child welfare records, Centrelink records, Housing Trust records, tax records, criminal records, medical records, police records, prison records? So many types of private records that require a subpeona.

I wonder if they are trying to pin down proof of people's exact whereabouts, as best as possible, to substantiate the case against the perp.

Yes... relatives of the Speddings lived in Benaroon Drive at the time of William's disappearance. One of those relatives also owned a shop located opposite BS' rental business in Laurieton for several years  IMO

Would someone kindly repost a more recent article about AJ? My understanding is that since going to jail he has been charged with 5 counts of rape, is that correct and has anyone seen any dates on where they are up to in the proceedings for that? TIA

Jones, who is facing five unrelated child rape charges in NSW, claims to have been collecting scrap metal at the time William vanished.

Lots of AJ's on the court list. Popular name.
Difficult to know which might be him without knowing where the crimes were committed.:dunno:

off topic but an example of the possible mindset of a paedophiles wife,,,,
'his wife has called the victim a “s**t”

She is ridiculous and disgusting for saying and thinking these things about a child who was a victim of her husband.

But even leaving that aside I wonder if it's really just to ease her own cognitive dissonance, in a way, to put all the blame on the victim. Much easier to continue a relationship with a sex offender if you just make your brain believe that it's not his fault and he was 'seduced'. (personally I've always hated hearing that used as any kind of excuse, even in situations where the people involved are consenting adults ... 'i couldn't help it, she seduced me', pffffft. Weak.)

Reading the article, is she saying that the victim, who was 9 at the time, is now at 14 having some issues with sexual relationships? Because if so, I wonder why? Could be the response to the trauma of having been raped as a child?

BBM: Unfortunately, I have read that early child sex abuse can lead to early promiscuity in some victims, depending how they have been groomed. :(

Another legacy of sexual abuse is that children abused at any early age often become hyper-sexualized or sexually reactive. Issues with promiscuity and poor self-esteem are unfortunately common reactions to early sexual abuse.

This enabling wife sounds a bit like Spedding's wife. Wasn't it her who sent the message to someone about being disappointed that they were involved (in supporting) the historical child sex abuse claims?

I thought MS meant she was sorry that the second child had also been abused (by someone); not that she was disappointed with her for reporting it.

The wording makes me think otherwise.

Police allege that, since Spedding became aware they were making inquiries with him in relation to the disappearance of William Tyrrell, he had contacted people he knows in the hope of obtaining character references.

They allege his wife Margaret contacted one of the alleged victims by text shortly after he was arrested and said: “It really saddens me you’re involved in this.”

I had read it the same but it is possible it was mean't that she was sorry the victim was abused or perhaps even that she was sorry the victim's name had been dragged into it?? I guess it is all about context.

I had read it the same way as well.

Thread 12 - post 321
The court heard that Mr Spedding spent the night at the home of one of the complainants about six months ago and played with her young daughter.
“It just didn’t feel right . . . it felt really awkward,” the complainant said in police interviews.

The link is now dead.

I have always felt MS was a bit surprised pi**ed off that the victim that was visited by BS and maybe MS. Went ahead with the charges. Maybe they expected she would not proceed.
