How is it possible that reward money could be issued to police officers.. aren't rewards given for 'tips' or information leading to arrest/conviction? And if so, wouldn't such information sharing be part and parcel of a police officer's job, as opposed to something else which should be rewarded? If the government, corporations, citizens, are adding to a reward pot, wouldn't that leave a bad taste in their mouths if that money ended up being issued to police officers? Just wondering?I read an article, I think it was a few years back, which said that of rewards that were paid, most went to police officers. It wasn't just speculation; somebody had researched it, might have been in Victoria.
