Do you happen to have a pic or such of Nicholls?

Nicholls. A very "nice" appearing man, just like Spedding. Who would have thunk it?

Thank you JLZ.
I have been looking at that thinking what is it?
Yes it is the shoes...shaking my head.

I get that. First I thought it was a scene from a living room. Then I wondered if it was an aerial photograph or map. But the rest of the board is clothing, so I took that as a clue.

Yes, he moves around ... as many of these sickos do. Starts over again. Again and again. Tries to keep himself out from under police scrutiny by switching states and locations, but keeps using his same MO.

You may have noticed that someone else has moved around a fair bit, too.

Hi. Haven't posted for a long time but little William never leaves my thoughts. I posted this in February last year, but according to a certain Genealogy website, a person by the name of DN (correct middle name and everything) was listed on the 1980 Electoral Roll as living in Monbulk, Victoria (in the Dandenong Ranges). Occupation listed as 'Teacher' (makes my stomach crawl). The article at http://www.themercury.com.au/news/sc...3880618064b03d states "Between 1972 and 1992 he was a religion education specialist and school chaplain in the UK and Australia, the directory said." Just another location to add to the timeline!

When I google the sentence that DaisyGirl gave us from the article, this is the article that comes up.

The bolded part (and roll eyes) by me

The Mercury understands information about Nichols’s criminal history was given to the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sex Abuse but he was not called as a witness.

According to the Australian Anglican directory, Nichols was ordained in the UK in 1973.

Between 1972 and 1992 he was a religion education specialist and school chaplain in the UK and Australia, the directory said.

In 1987 he was convicted in Tasmania’s Supreme Court of five counts of indecent practices. The victim was a 12-year-old boy.

“The court has a clear duty to protect young people from this kind of wretched behaviour, practised for selfish gratification at the possible risk of long-term serious psychiatric harm to the victim,” sentencing judge Justice Peter Underwood said.

Nichols was given a six-month suspended sentence.

Thanks for posting the correct link! Sorry about that. Wrote my post in Word and copied it over to WS. The link was working in Word. Yes, a 'six-month suspended sentence.' Makes by blood boil

Hi guys. if you see me on a lot don't think i'm a creepy gal... i'm trying to catch up & I don't bother logging out. I found this post by "they'll get you" in #16. Hope you don't mind @ they'll get you?? It's just so easy for a child to approach a delivery driver, or a car. Especially at three years old.

p.s working my way through... I'll repost anything that's cluey and not just hearsay - altho this post below is an opinion that i agree with - so just MOO, and was @they'll get you's' opinion :D

quote from #16
I worked for AustPost, small parcel delivery in a van. Numerous times I'd pull up to the house and excited kiddies would run out to greet me at the van like I was Santa arriving. I'd usually tell them to go get mummy. They'd ask questions while looking into the van. I'd locate the parcel from either the back of the van or at the side sliding door, then they'd follow me to the front door. Many times I mentioned this to the parents to be careful.

I'm telling you now it would be very easy to put a child into a van, slide the door closed and drive away-windows up, no one would've heard a thing.

Children are perceptive. William might have anticipated excitement of a man coming and considered him a friend. He could have ran around close to the van/car. Kids do these things and are NOT always aware of their surroundings. That's why we hold their hands in public!

He was only 3 years old and Spedding is either very unlucky or very lucky.

Risk of significant harm status refers to the outcome of the screening at the Child Protection Helpline.

Risk of significant harm (ROSH)
A child or young person is assessed as at ROSH if the circumstances that are causing concern for the safety, welfare or wellbeing of the child or young person are present to a significant extent. This means it is sufficiently serious to warrant a response by a statutory authority, irrespective of a family’s consent.
From 24 January 2010, reports to the Child Protection Helpline must meet the threshold of ‘risk of significant harm’. Where concerns of harm do not meet the significant harm threshold, the reporter should offer and coordinate assistance or make a referral to other services, using normal referral networks.

Forwarded for information/action
Reports that have been assessed as not requiring a child protection response are forwarded on to a local Community Services Centre (CSC)/Joint Investigative Response Team (JIRT) or Brighter Futures assessment unit for information or further action.
Some reports may involve ROSH matters but not require a child protection response. For example, they may contain previously reported information where a ROSH report has already been created or they may relate to an older event and the person causing harm no longer has access to the child.

No response required
This refers to reports that do not meet the ROSH threshold and are assessed as requiring no response at that point in time.

Thanks for the detailed explanation Soso, my brain has been addled for so long by so many confusing situations & questions, and this just adds to it for me.

Am wondering again things like - when was it Dad went to jail, were K & B together at time of his sentencing? when was L removed, what brought that about? Was it a report to CPH ? interesting to me that 1 child would be removed, but another (baby) be left; or was he not yet born? Was there another report to CPH? I wonder who was making the calls ..

Hi all, please excuse if I am replying late to the conversation / scenarios presented. Have been offline, but certainly not forgotten the plight of this little man, nor all those invested in him, in his wellbeing, his welfare, and his much deserved restitution & retribution.

William arrived at his foster parents' first. His sister joined him there one week later. William's foster parents are not POI, nor are his biological parents, in relation to his disappearance.

are you sure Boho.. Opposite to my understanding

Avid reader for a long time - first post. Forgive me if I muck it up please.... wearing my WS L plates.

* Foster parents ruled out

* Bio parents ruled out

* Pedo ring all but ruled out

* BS moved way down the list of POI's

* Perp connected to Port Macq area -*not necessarily living in the area

This may only leave a non-local who wasn't expected driving into the street for a reason, maybe simply to turn around.

Opportunity or accident?

What are the chances this will ever be solved?

Will William ever be found?

Hey Josie, Welcome ... and thank you for your input.

As much as I acknowledge the importance of our collaboration in solving this mystery, and as much as I hope & pray that we can find the answer to little boy's disappearance, to date I don't believe we are delivering a thing that Det Jub isn't already aware of . ..

Wrt that "screenshot" photo, I always thought that the reasoning behind it, was to give the investigation team an example of what little Willam may look like via webcam, which can often distort someone's appearance slightly, especially poor quality ones. If the team happened to stumble across photos or a video of him online, this could be their frame of reference in identifying that it was in fact William.

IMO I don't believe that every piece of information/ photos in the task force room were strategically placed for that 60 minutes segment, based on the fact that in one of those pieces of information, the name of a family member who could not be identified for legal reasons, is visible.

Unfortunately, we don't have the answers to your questions about William's bio family as we haven't been able to discuss those details you've mentioned, due to WS Rules and being off limits.

It was only a few weeks ago that William's bio Mum's and Dad's names were released to the media.

Here's a close up google map of william's FM street & it's exit points to Batar creek rd. Does everything look in the correct place (WT house, #35, cemetery)? The black arrows indicate a section that might or might not exist. A local might know? If it's too small I can email myself a larger one
