Could have been someone on foot, in a car, on a bicycle, riding a horse or a skateboard — who knows?
William's scent was found within the property boundaries of 48 Benaroon Drive but not outside of them. The yard may have been taped off by LAC but there were hundreds of searchers tramping all over the surrounding area and the NSW Police Dog Unit from Sydney wasn't dispatched until around 11:00am*.
SAR dogs are skilled but they can only be effective under certain environmental conditions.

Still, it's hard to believe if the scent was found inside the boundaries then how not outside? The most likely scenario is a car at the boundary. i think if they caught his scent then they'd likely find an 'on- foot' or on 'skateboard'' scent. I think the neighbours would have heard a horse - neigh?
