In the more than three years since William’s abduction, Brendan Collins has become a drug addict and been to jail, spending time in Parklea Correctional Centre.
When he was released from prison, Natalie helped her son, ensuring he went to see doctors and was prescribed medication.
But Brendan fell back into ice.

Compulsory Drug Treatment Correctional Centre
The Compulsory Drug Treatment Correctional Centre (CDTCC) is separately based on the Parklea Correctional Complex.

It houses participants who have been sentenced to a Compulsory Drug Treatment Order by the NSW Drug Court in Parramatta.
Participants on the Stage 3 Program are under supervision in the community after they have been released from the CDTCC.

I recently watched an episode of Compass about the CDTCC:

It seemed like a good program, if adhered to.

She said William’s foster parents had discarded $2000 in gifts given to William by Karlie and Brendan.

http://www.news.com.au/lifestyle/pa...d/news-story/1a73063218a15527c703ad7d2136710e

She is so precise with some things.
How does she know they were discarded?
imo

How would she know that?
Vicious little minx isn’t she. It makes me wonder if her jealousy and viciousness has rubbed off on some others.
Wow just wow! It comes so naturally.

A grandmother should be grateful her grandchildren escaped this drug effected norm.

She told police to take him away for mental health care, and he ended up in Mt Druitt Hospital.
“He was arrested for drugs and they let him out [on bail],” she said.
When?

“He was put in Penrith Hospital for an infection through his body, he was so skinny.
“He walked out with pads still on his chest and he was saying to me, ‘I’ve done the crime, I’ve done some time.’

“He thought he had been in jail and then they arrested him because he didn’t show up in court.

How did he end up in hospital at Penrith? Is there a Penrith Hospital or is it Nepean?
Google says Nepean does have a mental health unit.

He walked out with pads on. I wonder if he was officially discharged or as NC said just walked out?

I guess if he were in hospital on the day of court with an infection all through his body, confused believing he were in jail, that would be a valid reason for not having turned up at court hearings.
All will be documented.
NC is so precise with something and rather cryptic with others.

http://www.news.com.au/lifestyle/pa...d/news-story/1a73063218a15527c703ad7d2136710e

I agree. As for NC, the things she’s cryptic about may not fit well with her self-narrative.

This might have been the MT Druitt hospital reference.
She told the police to take him away and get mental health care and he ended up in Mt Druitt.
Mt Druitt have a 24 hour drug and alcohol service according to google.
They just charged him for drugs and let him go on bail.
Polices fault....
imo

Never enough beds & it’s easier to send them off into the night.

Would that be against the law? I mean could you cop a charge for that?

I don’t know. You’d think so. It almost seems like she wants to be questioned by police. What would be the motivation? Notoriety? Proving victimisation by way of ‘class discrimination’? It all seems terribly dysfunctional to me.

She never liked the Spider-Man suit which has become nationally symbolic of the little boy, believing the dress-up outfit was showy and that her son Brendan had bought William better outfits.
“*I* hate the Spider-Man outfit.”

http://www.news.com.au/lifestyle/pa...d/news-story/1a73063218a15527c703ad7d2136710e

wtf - William loved his spiderman suit.
Showy ...pffft....imo

So what were these better dress up costumes BC had bought, shoplifted or obtained, whilst being locked up, attending court and needing mental health and drug treatment....schizo as NC described him.

I am only stating what I have read in msn that NC has said.
I have much empathy for those suffering with mental illness but not for excuses, minimising, denial - enabling.
imo

Like anything Bo. You have to want to help yourself and have sound support in doing so.
imo

God, ain’t that the truth and don’t I know it!

The program seemed to provide that support if the inmates are willing to be fair dinkum about changing their lives. It would be interesting to read the statistics.

She didn’t have to like it — he did.

I agree with your thoughts. Far too much criminality, including extremely violent crimes, are ‘explained away’ by criminals’ drug use and resulting mental illness.

OMG & this is to a reporter!!! What is she like in private.
It’s so hard to grasp this viciousness.
What? She’d prefer William to live in that environment.
Oh Lord gimmi strength.

Unfortunately the mind is willing but the drugs are so strong, after couple of days it gets unbearable and they can sign themselves out. The drugs are a strong NEED.

But for the grace of God.........

MA is an extremely dangerous drug. The CDTCC is an ‘alternative’ to mainstream prison. When inmates first arrive they are in prison greens and effectively under lock and key. As they progress through the stages of the program they are allowed more privileges, leading to being out in the community. They can’t just sign themselves (or walk) out as they can when they are voluntarily admitted to hospital or rehab.

But for the Grace of God indeed ;)

It’s lazy parenting.
Where was she when the children were being taken.
Strike one.
Strike two and they’re out.
Where was grandma??

I’ll say it again....but for the Grace of God go I.

Some of us learn by our mistakes or transcend the lives that were thrust upon us. Others don’t and I, like you tgy, know this from experience.

But Natalie said the 35-year-old, who did not drink alcohol or take drugs before William vanished, was in such a state he needed urgent special care.....................

Natalie said that her son — whose drug addiction since William’s kidnapping made him look “more like 65” than his real age — was a hardworking teetotaller when he met Karlie.

http://www.news.com.au/lifestyle/pa...d/news-story/1a73063218a15527c703ad7d2136710e

So NC is saying BC was just a good boy - hardworking teetotaller when he met Karlie.
He did not drink grog or use drugs before William disappeared.

So what was the problem NC between 2009 and June 2011 when William disappeared?
for two children to removed......
imo

‘Dislike’ apparently:

‘Natalie said she, Karlie and Brendan spent around $4500 to try and retain custody of William.

“It cost a fortune, but [FACS] didn’t like Karlie or Brendan from the start.

“But for them, William wouldn’t be missing now.”
