The Compulsory Drug Treatment Correctional Centre (CDTCC) is separately based on the Parklea Correctional Complex.

It houses participants who have been sentenced to a Compulsory Drug Treatment Order by the NSW Drug Court in Parramatta.
Participants on the Stage 3 Program are under supervision in the community after they have been released from the CDTCC.

She told police to take him away for mental health care, and he ended up in Mt Druitt Hospital.
“He was arrested for drugs and they let him out [on bail],” she said.
When?

“He was put in Penrith Hospital for an infection through his body, he was so skinny.
“He walked out with pads still on his chest and he was saying to me, ‘I’ve done the crime, I’ve done some time.’

“He thought he had been in jail and then they arrested him because he didn’t show up in court.

How did he end up in hospital at Penrith? Is there a Penrith Hospital or is it Nepean?
Google says Nepean does have a mental health unit.

He walked out with pads on. I wonder if he was officially discharged or as NC said just walked out?

I guess if he were in hospital on the day of court with an infection all through his body, confused believing he were in jail, that would be a valid reason for not having turned up at court hearings.
All will be documented.
NC is so precise with something and rather cryptic with others.

I agree. As for NC, the things she’s cryptic about may not fit well with her self-narrative.

This might have been the MT Druitt hospital reference.
She told the police to take him away and get mental health care and he ended up in Mt Druitt.
Mt Druitt have a 24 hour drug and alcohol service according to google.
They just charged him for drugs and let him go on bail.
Polices fault....

Never enough beds & it’s easier to send them off into the night.

So what were these better dress up costumes BC had bought, shoplifted or obtained, whilst being locked up, attending court and needing mental health and drug treatment....schizo as NC described him.

I am only stating what I have read in msn that NC has said.
I have much empathy for those suffering with mental illness but not for excuses, minimising, denial - enabling.

The program seemed to provide that support if the inmates are willing to be fair dinkum about changing their lives. It would be interesting to read the statistics.

I agree with your thoughts. Far too much criminality, including extremely violent crimes, are ‘explained away’ by criminals’ drug use and resulting mental illness.

Unfortunately the mind is willing but the drugs are so strong, after couple of days it gets unbearable and they can sign themselves out. The drugs are a strong NEED.

MA is an extremely dangerous drug. The CDTCC is an ‘alternative’ to mainstream prison. When inmates first arrive they are in prison greens and effectively under lock and key. As they progress through the stages of the program they are allowed more privileges, leading to being out in the community. They can’t just sign themselves (or walk) out as they can when they are voluntarily admitted to hospital or rehab.

But for the Grace of God indeed
