William's bio parents and the foster parents have not been named as POIs or suspects.You may discuss what they may have said in MSM or what has been said about them in MSM but you may NOT sleuth them.

While the names of the foster parents may have been withheld due only to a legal misunderstanding, the fact remains that their identities have not been mentioned in MSM. IF it was only a legal misunderstanding that resulted in their names being withheld, MSM would have challenged it and information to that effect would have been publicized. That has not been the case.

As for William's minor sister being assigned a pseudonym in court documents, that does not give anyone reason to sleuth or post about a minor child. She has the potential to be identified due to the fact that William's real name is used in the document.

The above are basic Websleuths principles that are adhered to in all cases.

Please get back to sleuthing the named POIs or suspects rather than those individuals you are not allowed to sleuth.

Looking at the dates of those articles, it seems that Spedding may not have been part of the initial placement. Sounds as though he was living in Wellington and Margaret was living in Laurieton, and Margaret had custody of the boys (family).

If Spedding and his wife were not living together, and formally stated that was the case, then I cannot see why FaCS would have had any reason to look at Spedding's background at all .. at the time.

I wonder if Spedding was unable to meet the Working With Children Check requirements. We certainly do not know his whole history - eg: if there have been charges that have been dismissed in the past, or he has been classed as attempting sexual misconduct with a child before (internet, or real life). And I personally think that Margaret would believe any tale that he spun about that.

However, there are some compulsory requirements to be a foster carer. You must:

- be an Australian citizen or a permanent resident
- be at least 21 years old in Victoria and NSW and 25 years old in WA
- have space in your house for a child
- have current police and Working With Children Checks (we will help you obtain these)
- complete a health check, referee checks, and a home and environment checks (we will help you with these checks)
- complete training and be accredited or authorised (we provide training and help you with accreditation)

And if it is public, wouldn't it be more accurate than any MSM reporting? Finally, I don't know why MSM didn't challenge that area of law, but since the Justice pointed this out in his summary, he also gave them the solution to remedy the situation within the bound of the law.

And somewhere in between 2011 and 2013, Margaret took custody of her young grandchildren.

I definitely get your drift, soso. Why the big delay? Was Margaret not able to have the grandchildren if Spedding lived with her? And is that why the children were removed later in 2014?
It is a 6 or 7 hour drive from Wellington to Laurieton, depending which route you take. It is not as if Spedding could live with Margaret in Laurieton and commute to Wellington every day to work.
