The pawn shop that was raided.
What a horrible name for a business. Speddo's Pawn
The name has a shocking double meaning.
Peddo and Pawn :(

I didnt even think of that wow

I really doubt the police would be ripping this couples homes and properties apart if they weren't onto something and finding things along the way, wonder if the grandchildren are still with them tonight or will be staying somewhere else?
I agree 100%. I dont consider this along the 'normal lines of enquiry' at all. The crimestoppers tip off must have been a doozy.
Considering there are children residing in the house it makes me wonder how much they may have seen or known and accidently talked? Just a theory if all of this pans out that William was at the property at some point in time.

CADAVER sniffer dogs were called in to search the semi-rural Bonny Hills property which is being raided by homicide detectives looking for missing boy William Tyrell.
The dogs searched the rented Wandoo Place property on the mid-north coast yesterday before police today moved in with diggers to excavate the yard including a fire pit, as well as the septic tank.
Three cars were seized and towed away from the property yesterday and are being examined by forensic experts for any links to the three-year-old who has been missing for more than four months

Superintendent Paul Fehon confirmed more resources had been brought in to assist with the investigation but played down any suggestion the developments were a “major breakthrough”.
“I don’t describe it as a major breakthrough. It is a line of inquiry we’re taking as part of the normal investigation phase for an investigation of this nature,” he said.
“Additional resources have been provided in relation to the searches and specialist police have attended and that is normal for an investigation of this type.”

Digging and draining and taking 3 cars and a mattress doesn't seem that "normal" to me.

I've been told there was just one police car outside the Bonny Hills property yesterday evening (possibly at the time the Laurieton place was raided?), and all the activity began this morning.

Wonder if the dogs have picked up a scent?

Seems like you would have to have a fairly good hunch to get a warrant to search and remove things, then to be able to start digging and draining. A court isn't just going to say "yeah, whatever". The police must have a reason to believe there is a body concealed on the property.

As much as I try to find a positive reason for everything that is unfolding (e.g. they're just looking for evidence), part of me wants to slap myself in the face and shout, "Get real. None of this is looking good. NONE of it!"

We need to steel ourselves for the worst case scenario. We are being fed information gradually and we have the opportunity to emotionally prepare ourselves. Supt. Fehon's face was a giveaway, IMO. He looked like he was on he verge of sobbing.

You don't get search warrants because of a Crimestoppers tip-off that has no more weight than the other thousands they have gotten.

You have to have a damn good reason.

Wednesday 11.30am: Three generations of Linda Collins' family live in the neighbourhood being searched on Wednesday morning.

She said while many in the area mix socially, she hasn't seen much of those living in the house on Wandoo Place.

"You never really see them. I've never seen kids playing in their yard."

The grandmother has been a resident of the area for three years.

The neighbourhood's annual Australia Day party was to be hosted at Mrs Collins' Jolly Nose Drive house house next week.

She said she'd dropped a leaflet at the Wandoo Place residence, "but we weren't expecting them to come along".

Wednesday 10.30am: Following the drainage of the septic tank, there is a reduced police presence at the house on Wandoo Place, Bonny Hils.

Detectives from the Mid-North Coast are supervising two forensic officers as they use an excavator to clear a large wood pile.

Wednesday 10.15am: The police presence at Bonny Hills and Lake Cathie is significant as the search for missing toddler William Tyrell has taken a new turn.

A PolAir chopper is hovering above Lake Cathie while an excavator has cordoned off a semi-rural property in Wandoo Place, Bonny Hills,, where an elderly couple live.

A grease trap and septic service truck pulled up to the house about 8am on Wednesday.

Homicide detectives have spent more than 24 hours searching through the single-level house in Wandoo Place, Bonny Hills, just south of Port Macquarie.

A complicated family history prohibits the missing three-year-old's parents from speaking publicly about William’s disappearance, but Superintendent Paul Fehon said they were being kept up to date with the investigation

yes, his eyes looked very sad and almost teary, poor man, having to remain professional at all times.

Yeah, they're looking for a body and have good reason to think that William is not only deceased, but also his body has been on that property at one point.

the cadaver dogs may have picked up a scent, wonder if they had the dogs at the unit also?

It's a blessing in disguise that they were on a septic system, this is not like sewerage, septics are really sensitive, we have to be careful even what food scraps go down the sink, or ours will block up, it's not like being on town sewerage, whatever has been sent down there will likely still be there. Also evacuation equipment sounds to me like they're digging up the pipes.

^ They were also excavating a wood pile. Looked like it had been burnt, maybe?

Here is a new photo of the shop/apartment at Laurieton. It looks like the shop downstairs is a clothing shop, and the pawn shop is upstairs with the unit?

Wednesday 1.30pm: Bonny View Drive resident Kylie, who did not wish to give her surname, said the sound of officers arriving for Tuesday's raid was unmistakable.

"They didn't need their sirens there was that many of them," she said.

More than 15 cars poured into Wandaloo Place from 5am on Tuesday.

"They blocked off both sides of the street and even though they were in suits, we knew something was up," Kylie said.

Wednesday 12.30pm: A senior police source has confirmed investigators will return to the Wandoo Place house on Thursday.

More forensic specialists are expected to arrive, with particular attention being paid to the area from the septic tank opening to the former woodpile site
