What was the window of time between 9.30a and when BS was recorded of known to be present please? What time was it when he was known to pop his head back up?

There is absolutely nothing confirmed for him all day. And he remains a POI.
Though he does mention an appointment in Dunbogan at 2pm. I imagine he may have been there. Dunbogan has a tower right there, so there would be absolutely no ping issues.

That is likely when he called the foster mum, as well. imo
And was told that he couldn't come right now.

Is anyone clued up on how café cash registers keep records? would Buzz be able to pull out a record of what was ordered to match the total amount on the bank statement?

BS said they were with a friend at the school assembly. It hasn't been said if that friend had coffee with them, I'm thinking not.

The record of sale if available should give an idea of how many coffees were ordered? Doesn't prove anything but would be enlightening to police in some sense?

Also, just a thought, when people go to school assemblies and award presentations they would either put their phone on silent or turn it off depending on what message they want callers to receive. How does that effect pings or doesn't it at all?

Just piecing together thoughts, given their ages in 2014 the boys at Laurieton PS would be in Stage 2 or 3 (yrs 3,4,5,6). According to the Laurieton PS assembly timetable Stage 2 and 3 assemblies were at 10.30 on alternating Fridays.

All just food for thought. I flip on BS guilt or innocence quite regularly.

A cafe I do some work at has register receipts for every transaction. Then a totals print out whenever they want it. In their case, they check the totals (and compare to the till count) twice a day.

Each individual cash register receipt and totals print out is rubber-banded - by day - and kept, for audit purposes. (Just in case of an audit, I mean.)

The individual receipts don't show exactly what was ordered, but they do show line items price-wise.

Two coffees = $9 for example. One coffee = $4.50. One main meal salad = $12.00. Bacon & eggs = $10.00. etc etc

Fairly easy to deduce what kind of thing was ordered, according to the line item costs.

.

Phone on silent, yes it keeps pinging.

Phone off, location services on, yes will show ping (GPS) activity.

Phone off, location services off, no ping or GPS activity.

Very basic explanation, but that is roughly how it goes.

That would mean he should have tower records for travel. Im not sure whether triangulation was recorded at the time.

You know, we have tower voids all over this town. I must have been in a reception black spot.

It appears William, nothing matches. Not a good look deleting records on the morning.

I believe the records or some of them are only deleted off the phone, not off the server.

Did all phones have GPS at that point? Not sure when recording started.

Then the messages start piling on when the phone is turned back on. When really should those message have downloaded on elsewhere?

Someone deleted the messages in fear it was a conflict?

How many times do we see the perp leave a message or try to make contact knowing full well the victim can't answer. Same, same.....making it known they look innocent and don't know a thing. .

Smart phones have had location services for a long time. Yes, in that time period.

I do not ever have my location services on, because I do not want any apps I use to know where I am all the time.

Police could ring up and say we don't have a signature for such and such.

The book keeper has to go back and check the receipt as per bank statement.

There is other ways. Apps may not know, but your service provider does.

Someone may not have been using that style of phone.
