What car would have Spedding taken to the coffee shop and school assembly?

Attached is the search area.

IMO none. Because he wasn't there. At least not when he claims he was.

But he likely would have been driving his van that day, as he apparently had a job in Dunbogan.

Later on that day, September 12, Mr Spedding had driven to Dunbogan where he had another appliance to repair. Detectives visited Dunbogan on Wednesday last week to talk to locals.

Was just listening to the video at this link - when the searches were at their peak - and where the foster parents friend was answering questions from the press. She was ducking and weaving, on their behalf.

One journo ask her if the foster parents were considering other scenarios for William (other than being lost). She evaded the question by replying 'the family just want William back, and are grateful that the police are looking at everything to help bring him back". A very well spoken lady.

Journo: Was he a child who would wander?
Friend: No, no. He did not have a tendency to wander.

Journo: Was he an outdoorsy sort of kid?
Friend: He didn't live here, in the bush, but he was definitely outdoorsy. He loved being outside but he knew the limits.

So much speaking of William in the past tense. From everyone. The journos, the friend.

Too many pedos in this country get 9 months for horrible things. For ruining a young child's life. Filling them with pain, terror, bad dreams, ongoing issues.
We have the absolute worst cases of precedent here. There is no reason for it, with the laws we now have in place. It is disgusting. It is about time we started flooding our adjudicators and prosecutors with written disgust about these matters each time we hear of them.
TOTALLY AGREE
its so hard to get charges to stick to these filthy monsters and then they get such light sentences. damn maddening.

we as a society have to work harder on educating kids to tell tell tell.
make them feel empowered to do so.
for too many years society has allowed this to be swept under the carpet.
coming forward years later often is very hard to prove.
and that's what the bastards count on.

There is a lot that does not add up in this article.

1. Spedding was asked to repair the washing machine because grandma was expecting stayover visitors. (Sort of urgent job)
... his grandmother told repairman Bill Spedding she was expecting a stay-over visit from her family and could he fix her faulty washing machine.

2. But Spedding claims he wasn't meant to be there on Friday, even though he received the part the previous day.
.. Mr Spedding has claimed to relatives and police he was never due to visit Kendall on the day three-year-old William vanished, September 12, 2014, and was simply calling to say the part needed to repair the washing machine had arrived.

3. Yet he did a job, apparently, Friday afternoon.
... It is understood Mr Spedding performed a separate repair job at a home in Dunbogan, roughly 14km from Kendall, about 2pm on the Friday William vanished.

4. He would have wanted to go to grandma's place that morning, because he had footy on the weekend, and a job in the afternoon a fair distance from Kendall. If he was any good at planning, and keeping his customers happy.
.... He said he was “relieved” when he could not reach William’s grandmother by phone because he didn’t want to perform the repair over the weekend and wanted to take his children to their football game.

So, one would think he would be bouncing up on Friday morning, and heading right over to grandma's, part in hand, before the noon assembly, to keep his weekend free.
Makes far more sense to get the further (from his home) job done in the morning, head back to the assembly  , then go to Dunbogan, then home.

I wonder what answer he gave about what car he took to the buzz cafe

There is another stationwagon which is really a low roof minivan

IMO none. Because he wasn't there. At least not when he claims he was.

Watching kids plays a big part in Spedding's life, doesn't it?

I was wondering, imagining really, if one of his grandchildren had been hostile towards him and done three things with the intention of accusing him for taking William: removed the S; planted the doll in his van, and perhaps previously in other places for him to find; and added that 'got up in the morning' post to his FB page.

So BS makes a living doing one job a day. I think not. *BBM

So he had been told family were coming.

The part had arrived the day before Friday. BS had the part in the van.

Had BS met William in a past life through other contacts? Another person who's alibi is dubious.

That is a fair point, JLZ. A hurting child with access to the van might do that.

Yes, he was extremely interested in watching and playing with the boys.

I recall he used to take them swimming a lot, too. I think ole Col or his son mentioned it way back when. When they were saying how great Spedding is with children. Did a quick squiz for the link, it didn't pop up yet. Will still be in our WS posts though, somewhere.

It would have taken an experienced machine man 30 minutes to put that part in. Plenty of time to fit all the jobs in and more than likely tower reception out Dunbogan way, or via the cafe in Laurieton. From the school.

Two visits to fix a washing machine. Would want to charge too much. Nearly cheaper to buy a new machine for one person.

Go broke doing one job a day. Two visits $300 plus parts? $150 for the Friday?

One person machine for a grandma using less water and electricity would be $500

Sometimes I worry about my sense of proportion. The man's accused of doing frightful things and I'm angry at his delinquency as a tradesman. How did he have any business at all if he didn't know that a functioning washing machine is essential? No, it can't wait till Monday!

Isn't BS semi retired or maybe even fully retired by now at his age? Thought i read that somewhere? So maybe the repair business is something he only does occasionally for a bit more income to boost any benefits he receives?
What past life, as in reincarnation past life lol? Where on earth would he have met the fostered child WT before when those people are not even from Kendall?

Perhaps FGM should of called a different repair person in that case?

I still can't find the link where someone said he was fond of, or great because of, swimming with the boys ... but I did find a link about a pool at their house.

Nestled in the hamlet of Bonny Hills, it has a backyard most children would love: a swimming pool, a trampoline, even an excitable Staffie dog. Someone has left a football on the grass.

Yet police spent yesterday digging up the backyard and draining a septic tank beneath the house, searching for any sign of missing three-year-old William *Tyrrell, who disappeared from his grandmother’s home in nearby Kendall several months ago.

Working with the NSW Police Force’s specialist Sex Crimes Squad and Homicide Squad, local detectives have slowly come to accept that it now seems unlikely William simply wandered off.

There was a certain video that had me "side-eyeing" I think it's called. Something that may well have seemed innocent to a grandparent but rather different from a pedophilic point of view.

He could have done all those things on Friday. Cordless drills make installation so fast now.

How many whitegoods guys are there in the Laurieton area?

Does the scrappy man take all the old washing machines?

BBM. Degrees of separation......... Complicated family history.........

FGM had spoken to him 4 days prior. Minimum 8 days to fix a washing machine?

The part had arrived on the Thursday. He had been told family were coming.

Name one concrete piece of evidence that would dismiss him from the crime? The indirect abduction at least.

Immediate family alibi. Credit card at Cafe. School assembly.

Has any of this been confirmed by police with 3rd party independent witnesses?

Surely someone knew Speddo machine man?
