maybe it releases gases etc for the dog to smell?
I was wondering if it was some kind of thing that would indicate if there was a water table underneath.. possibly covered over/up. Or loosened earth... It looked like a pump of some kind to me.

I'm surprised they're making a splash about a toy found, when they don't even know if it's connected to WT in any way? Hopefully it's just MSM that's making this look like a 'show'. moo.

Maybe it is not the toy that has just been found that is significant.
Maybe one found previously?

Doesn't anyone else think it is an amazing coincidence that we find out BC has been digging recently and, now, after all this time, there is a new police search going on.

Yes indeed.
I find it more amazing that BC spoke to the media and told them he had been digging with his shovel in the bush. Just when a forensic search was taking place.
More amazing his Ma is sprouting to the media, it is a waste of time. You will not find him.
I assume she must have told BC the same thing.
imo

I'm thinking that this search is being more about proving William was taken, and the area they are searching, could possibly indicate that someone was maybe 'camping out' there? Either permanently or semi-permanently or because they knew the kids were coming. Is it possible what the police are actually looking for is signs of a campsite? To prove he was taken they need to prove how it occurred. Someone mentioned earlier about some findings relating to a campsite in the early searches but not sure what area that was.
Maybe I'm off and/or haven't read enough yet, but doesn't it seem like they're more checking out Benaroon backyards?

You've lost me? They're seeming to make a big quack about a toy found currently, which has no connection to WT as of yet, other than WT was a little child who likely liked to play with toys. If they found one previously, and it had significance, something likely would have come of it by now?

BC has apparently (from what I read) been digging around since he got out of the slammer a couple of weeks ago. The forensic search didn't start until a couple days ago. I'm thinking either they believe that BC has knowledge of a certain area that is pertinent to the case, or BC reported something to them that he found and they have to check it out... or it's just a 'coincidence' and not related.

BS is still my No.1 connection.
Thoughout all these years he's escaped a very dark, disgusting history even up to late. He knows how to hide his tracks and keep his mouth shut. Look at what the cops have discovered about him since William disappeared!
He's worried yes, but IMO he believes he's Teflon coated and he's got his needy devoted wife to back him up and his lawyer is telling him that they can't pin anything on him. In fact he's sueing MSM for wrong information. Cocky to say the least!
TJ & Co. is just a diversion IMO.

With the end result we will either cheer saying we all knew who it was or be absolutely hit left field gobsmacked!

Sometimes coincidence just can't be a coincidence, I'm talking that 6 degres again....
Yes I am on board with what you say about BS.
Not only that there’s something in his eyes that’s very “cold fish” to me. An absence of something. I can’t see the missus dobbing him, she’ll be well and truly under the spell, manipulated (otherwise she’d be old enough to know better, right?) — just hope LE haven’t alienated her too much to get her on the right side of the law

I was just thinking about those media headlines, way back.
Toy twist emerges in Tyrrell mystery (or something like that)
I doubt the toy found during this search has anything to do with William.
But I do wonder what has been found in those early searches ... that will.

I see it this way. The family will be asked if it was/wasn’t Williams toy & if they are not sure then maybe DNA might have a hand in saying. But they will know.

They are trying to establish if William did walk off into the bush.
They are crossing every T & dotting every I.

I have complete trust on our cops as they might be slow in some instances but OMG they serpent being thorough with this.

He’s NOT getting away this time.

If they had something to pounce on, they would, wouldn't they?

It concerns me if the search is to rule out misadventure. I would hope that whatever evidence the Strikeforce has collected over the last 3+ years that it would compellingly point to a particular POI/'s and scenario of what has happened to WT. When BS was first arrested on historical allegations, it concerned me that the police had signalled prior to the media that he is their main suspect at the time in WT's disappearance. It occurred to me then that we will be waiting until the historical charges are dealt with and hopefully found guilty to supply a motive for why WT was taken. Since the police have cast doubt in the media over BS alibi, they have provided nothing publicly to show that BS was anywhere other than where he said he was. If they have that proof, when are they going to slap him with it? If they don't even have that proof.......then WTF? IMO

I am wondering why the planning council members are involved. Perhaps they and the forestry department are helping them with boundaries, because maybe a warrant has been given for all areas that were Kendall Forest property at a given point in time.

They definitely seem free to move about within external areas around there.
A little earlier, someone clearly posted a pic of searching being done in someone's back yard. That is what I was enquiring about. Obviously no search warrants would be required for a public forest.

Yes I'm sure, however, if you had been someone that had something to do with this, you may not be so amenable?

Doesn’t that say a lot about NC.

For me, if it meant finding little William and removing a 🤬🤬🤬 off the streets my door and yard would be open.

So why is NC not caring where or what happened to William or is he alive or dead?
IT’S ALL ABOUT ME ME ME. What about the filth still walking the streets about to harm another child, HUH?

I’d so need want to know like other grieving parents do.
Look at the Morcombes for example.

I just don’t get her reasoning.

It wasn’t DOCs who took your grandchild this time NC!

Im 99.999% convinced William is dead and the police know exactly who did it.
I would still have a problem if I was a juror convicting anyone without a body in this case.Maybe its because the children were playing hide and seek, and the intent is to hide, maybe William had longer to hide if L was inside in the bathroom.
I really think they need to find William’s body to get a conviction.

Agree. I think that the cops are doing the right thing. I think it would be very reasonable for a jury to not convict because of the possibility of misadventure. Proving beyond all reasonable doubt that he is not in there will be a very important piece of the puzzle in getting a conviction.

I also agree his is probably dead. I don't think that's a surprising conclusion for anyone to come to at this point. I think it's good that they are still pursuing him as if he could be alive though; I think it changes the nature of the case significantly if they are only dealing with a body and not the chance there's a missing boy. I think keeping the chance alive that WT is not dead gives a sense of urgency to the case it wouldn't otherwise have.

I really don't understand NC's reaction to all this. Wouldn't you be grateful that the police are still putting so much effort into finding out what happened to William? Even if his body is not in this location (she seems sure about that o_O), then at least the police are looking for clues and that's something to be thankful for. Heck, even if they are not looking for clues and just trying to get a step closer to a coronial inquest, that is also a good thing.

it's positively daft. whether dead or alive, the perpetrator/s deserve punishment and the family and community deserve justice.

Maybe the police have a lot of background on particular forest workers, including their work schedules and the areas they were covering up to four years ago. Maybe a fairly local person with some type of history. Maybe they are working in the state forest today with police searching nearby and about to do something really crazy in reaction to the search......

I understand completely what you were inquiring about.

My point was, the development on Benaroon Drive looks like it has been built on land where part of the forest was cleared. Just like the allotment across from grandma's house has now been cleared of forest foliage to get ready for building.

So, who owns those allotments? Are they leased from the forestry dept/Dept of Environment (Crown lease - perpetual lease, term lease)? Were they purchased outright (freehold)? We don't know. No point assuming that the homeowners own the land outright. Mortgages can be obtained on Crown leased land, and the leases can run indefinitely.

It was stated (as per post in the last thread) that the area planning dept (in charge of town planning, etc) is involved in this search. There must be specific reasons for that. Could be drainage, could be property boundaries, could be any number of things.

Department for Environment and Water

What is freehold title?

If she said Williams is dead and gone then why is he digging when NC said they won’t find anything there.

Someone’s telling porkies.
IMO.

She is hard to work out.

She lists a number of things she says they have failed to investigate, and says the case has been marred by "lies and bulls**t".

They included the carving of the words "William Dad" on a tree near the abduction house and an escape route from the so-called dead end street.

"They are still on their bloody side," she told news.com.au.

"I have not had one detective or policeman come and ask me, not one. Why not?"

Stunning revelations in William Tyrrell case

Now they are going over everything with a fine tooth comb. She is still bloody whining.

Unfortunately our bush is full of discarded rubbish of all shapes and sizes.
From prams to old car bodies.

Who’s car is he travelling up there or who’s driving him?
Somehow I doubt he’d own a vehicle capable of making that distance.
