I am going back through the threads to find our previous references to the assembly time. So far ....

By Armchairdetective - Jan 24, 2015

School assembly started at 12pm.
Australia - Australia - William Tyrrell, 3, Kendall NSW, 12 Sept 2014 - # 4

The Laurieton Public School newsletter for we 12 Sep 2014 doesn't have a commencing time for 'stage assemblies'. Just that they were due to be held on Fri 12th.

The newsletter is available online. I can't get link to paste.

I also want to point out that Armchairdetective who stated the assembly time as 12pm also posted that they worked in Laurieton 2 days a week, and therefore had local knowledge.

Does 2 hours seem like an awfully long time to have coffee with your wife? Coffee at ~10am, presentation at the school across the road at 12pm? Maybe its just because i have three kids and im always rushing about.. But even on the odd occasion we do go out for dinner it would be rare for us to be there for 2 hours. I cant imagine sitting in a coffee shop for 2 hours and then going and sitting at a presentation afterwards as well

Is there any verifiable proof the assembly commenced at 12 or is it opinion?

Please feel free to search back through the threads. I have done as much of that as I feel like doing at the moment. :)

It will be somewhere between Thread One and Thread Four (inclusive).

The cops are smart and even tho Laurieton is a sleepy village there would be a camera or two around. Maybe driving in towards the town or a shop on the Main Street might have picked up their cars and how many heads onboard.

If it’s shown he was there then why hasn’t he been cleared?
I’d be shouting from the rooftops to clear my name.
He did a YouTube then why not show proof of being at the school. I don’t get it.

Maybe because he doesn't have to prove anything to the court of public opinion. He more than likely also was given some pretty strong and direct legal advice to clam it.

I personally don't need to go down that rabbit hole lol. I thought you may have known given you quoted a member that posted opinion. So we don't have proof the assembly started at 12.

It might be--contrary to what we've been told--that Margaret came in to Laurieton with Bill that morning, and being recently out of hospital was happy to sit a good while at the cafe until assembly time, while he attended to a few things at the office and possibly elsewhere.

This is true. Margaret may have not been able to drive, if she was recovering from something. May explain a friend being there with her as well .... drinking coffee.

This is an old copy of the school calendar which states the assembly commenced at 9.00am - from memory (because I don't have a copy) it was changed to 11.30am

They were having Jump for Heart that day as well. Perhaps that interferred with the regular assembly start time. I would think that they had lunch prior to the assembly. Perhaps right after Jump for Heart, when the children might have been really hungry.

Yes and we know nothing yet of where certain phones pinged that day. Hmmm just remembered the deleted phone log too. If he needed to eventually get back in contact with Fg why would he have deleted the call log ? Unless he had her number stored somewhere else

Wasnt it reported the Kendall area had terrible reception and that is why the foster father had to go elsewhere. Maybe pjngs were not available. If a call doesn't ping due to reception blackout area there maybe no log for particular calls either attempted, made or not received.

We looked up the towers. It seemed there would have been pings on the way out to Kendall from Laurieton.

Edit: also, we know the calls in question (the ones to foster mother in the afternoon I believe) were actually made and received, not just attempted.

Benarroon I believe did, my street has terrible reception but the next street is perfect . Not sure how the pings work .

I wont post any more references, because I think it may have been Armchairdetective's local knowledge that gave us the 12pm assembly start time.

Do I recall from our prior sleuthing they had an early assembly for the younger kids or something to that effect?

Sorry, it’s annoying when you accidentally hit the reply button and can’t go back .

Yes, there was reception in Lakewood - on the way from Laurieton to Kendall - where foster dad went to do his presentation.

And remember the mentions of the North Haven Bowling Club? There could have been CCTV there showing Spedding's vehicle at a time that makes his alibi unfeasible. We once scoured that property on Google looking for cameras.

When the nearby North Haven Bowling Club was asked for information, they abruptly refused to comment.
'We can't say anything about it. We won't say anything about what's going on,' a manager said.

Possibly? I remember looking up the calendars and coming up with the start time of 11:30 or 11:45 or 11-something, and getting an explanation as to why it was really 12. It might have been that the younger kids had to go first.

Ok so just texted my relative who is a telco and he said regardless of reception phones would still ping off towers. Just cause you don’t get clear reception to talk makes no difference to the pings
