Thousands of supporters have signed a petition to drop the charges against recently resigned top homicide cop Gary Jubelin, who led the search for William Tyrell.
Detective Chief Inspector Jubelin, 57, who worked on several high-profile cases, was last week charged with four alleged breaches of the Surveillance Devices Act 2007.
He had been on desk duties after bullying and harassment surfaced, but then resigned, devastating the families of victims whose cases he worked.
Since then, thousands have sought to defend the former cop by signing a petition that calls for the charges against him to be dropped.
