Thousands of supporters have signed a petition to drop the charges against recently resigned top homicide cop Gary Jubelin, who led the search for William Tyrell.

Detective Chief Inspector Jubelin, 57, who worked on several high-profile cases, was last week charged with four alleged breaches of the Surveillance Devices Act 2007.

He had been on desk duties after bullying and harassment surfaced, but then resigned, devastating the families of victims whose cases he worked.

Since then, thousands have sought to defend the former cop by signing a petition that calls for the charges against him to be dropped.

Continual reference to this petition is detracting from discussion of the case from my perspective. It adds nothing to the discussion.

That's what scroll & roll is for, then. I use it often.

However, the petition is of interest to many of us on William's thread, IMO. It would be great to have Jubelin back on the case. IMO.

Yes, I am interested in the petition, as well. It shows the PR nightmare for the NSW police for charging this outstanding officer with charges that we can find no court precedence for - with reference in the media to this offence being a practise that other officers have done, and perhaps are still doing.

9,036 signatures as of a few minutes ago. And people still signing!

As far as I'm concerned, the media references to the petition are just spreading the word about this far and wide - and encouraging others to sign the petition.

Jubelin has resigned from NSW Police.

Something that I notice in your linked article is this sentence ....

'It has not been made public under what section of that act Detective Chief Inspector Gary Jubelin has been charged,' she wrote.

Also ....

Daily Mail Australia has contacted NSW Police for comment.

We are told the foster family went to Bali prior to William's disappearance and he was also in Bali. We know the Spider-Man suit was purchased there. Has there been a reference to the date of that trip?

so im guessing the thick neck man has been eliminated as a poi if this is the car police have identified?
The foster mother also became upset when she was describing another car in the street that morning driven by a “thick-necked” man with a weathered face who had given her a challenging stare.

“You know when you look at someone and there’s that second challenge, ‘why are you watching me, I am watching you’.

“It was fleeting.”

The foster mother said that the police had since identified the car.

I don't know. Identified the exact car or the type of car? If they thought they found the exact car, and the car's owner didn't match her description ("it wasn't the man"--was that what she said?) would that mean that (a) it was the wrong car, (b) she didn't remember the person as well as she thought she did, (c) consistent with her first account, she didn't see anyone in the car, or (d) somebody other than the owner was driving . . . ?

Could someone post the link please as I need to relish the moment and share.

Most of us are very interested in keeping Jubelin to the forefront in relation to the case. You seem so anti him, there is not a lot else to discuss at this point as we wait for the inquest to resume.

He can always retract. Hopefully. Such a great loss. And not just to this case. IMO.

I doubt that will happen. He jumped. If there is nothing in the allegations that are subject of charges per numerous media articles then why did he not hold his ground? He jumped.

Yes, Jubes can be re-hired, if that's what the NSW Police and Jubes both wish to happen.

A common occurrence in the workplace is the termination, or resignation, of an employee and their subsequent re-engagement. This can be economically beneficial from the employer's perspective as the re-engaged person is already familiar with the organisation's procedures and also the nature of the business.

And the work he did and the knowledge he has are so very relevant and so very important to this case. IMO.

As I said, scroll & roll is my friend. IMO.

I am not 'anti' him. I have stated previously what I am very disappointed at is the allegations regarding his actions. He chose to jump.

Continual discussion about him adds nothing to discussion about William's case from my perspective.

What I have noticed is that since all the fracas around August 2018 as reported in numerous media articles and the Inquest commencement there are numerous anomalies surfacing.

I am curious as to why these anomalies are surfacing. The original details of the case have changed dramatically and Jubelin was in charge when the original details surfaced and now they have changed since his departure is what I have observed.

Might be interesting to start a list.

1st point. The foster parents had indicated in 2015 interviews that their arrival on Thursday 11th was not known to foster grandmother. It was a be a surprise. Now we are told during Inquest and tenplay podcast foster grandmother was phoned whilst the foster family traveled to Kendall on 11th to let her know they were arriving on Thursday not Friday. Why was this information about the phone call on Thursday held back.

2nd point. We were told in 2015 no one knew foster family travelled on 11th instead of 12th as was planned. Now we are told the reason for early departure was the foster family's 2 cats could get into boarding on Thursday. This means someone did know.

Above 2 points will be added to.

BBM Yes I think a few are! :D

And all details will be on case file. Jubelin certainly did not undertake the investigations personally.
