..And, a "former person of interest" - Does that mean he is no longer a P.O.I??
BBM.
Perhaps not. It might mean, that they can speak for sure for his former status as a person of interest, but they can't or won't comment on his current status.

I know what the linked article says but the Daily Mail is not known for its accuracy. That’s why I posted the original story from Nine who ran it on A Current Affair. I’d say it’s poor reporting from the DM.

Agree.

I don't know of any links but I am interested to see if there are. There is so little known about PS it is hard to know. I wonder if he was a member of one of the grandparent as parent groups? They are both of the same demographic but that is little to go on.
Hi Wex, as I recall when PS was interviewed on camera and asked whether he knew BS, his response was not a definite No . He was a pretty volatile character in the footage

He did appear to be a bit of a raging bull, however, if I was innocent, but suspected of something, had Police sniffing around me, making me worried, anxious and nervous, then the media, come bounding out of bushes, microphones in hand and camera in my face, asking questions about a little boys disappearance, I don't think I would be showing my meekness either.

The media know how to manipulate a person and get them to react-IMO.

He could too though, be someone that may have been involved in this heinous crime. MOO.

Yes that’s fair, in comparison to BS cool demeanour . What’s more telling , the aggressive response of AJ and PS or the cool cucumber BS

Very interesting...GJ media releases always seemed to be reaching out to a particular someone, "If you are protecting someone" etc etc...so that has me thinking is the unnamed POI to be called an associate or more so a relative of PS.

On Wednesday the 25th June, 10 daily done an exclusive with PS, he said some interesting word's, I can't get the link as I've only been able to find the segment via 10play app.
Could someone help me on how I could get the link plz?

Because I can't link atm this will have to be IMO

I guess we don’t know who will be called up at inquest ? Or do we , is there any official list

I think that the witness list has probably been given to relevant parties, as well as the brief of evidence. (July 1st is this coming Monday.)

That is likely how the media found out that Jubes has been called to attend.

I wonder how likely it is that other interested persons/POIs/suspects that we have spoken of are on the list? Seems that MSM may have published that info as well, if other potential interested persons that we know about are on the witness list.

Craddock also tendered some new exhibits ahead of the resumption of the inquest in August, telling the court the full brief of evidence would be served by July 1st, along with the list of witnesses to be called.

Axed top cop expected to be grilled at the William Tyrrell inquest over his 'intense interest' in washing machine repairman Bill Spedding

Former homicide detective Gary Jubelin, 57, will face questioning about his methods of investigating the little boy's disappearance, with special focus on his interest in William Spedding, The Australian reported.

Lawyer Peter O’Brien is expected to ask why Mr Jubelin focused so closely on washing repairman Mr Spedding, ahead of other possible leads.

Looking forward to hearing Jubes answers to this. We may finally learn about Spedding's alibi.

Is there proof that he was at the school assembly all throughout the designated assembly time
Was he sitting in the coffee shop having coffee prior to that
Was his vehicle seen at an appropriate time on CCTV as he passed the North Haven Bowls Club (now called Club North Haven) on his way to Laurieton
What were the forensic search results of the PC and other items taken from his office
Where was his phone pinging/not pinging at the time that William went missing
Was his vehicle seen elsewhere during the relevant time period ......

Although, Mr Craddock may have already covered all of this with Jubes in the inquest - so Peter O'Brien may not have the opportunity to ask these questions. Although, he may have other relevant-to-the-inquest questions that Mr Craddock has not asked.

Change Makers is linked a few threads back. Or just google it with Gary Jubelins name.

RSBM

Thanks for this info, soso. I found the relevant chapter on Google Books, and enjoyed reading it.

I can see how (what I now feel are misguided) allegations of bullying may have arisen - his having a short temper - but you can also see how Jubes may have been accused of forged affidavits. He signs things written by his officers based on the trust that they are doing good (not lazy) work.

He listens to the opinions of his officers - while he admits the discussions sometimes can get heated - and those opinions can change his own opinions. He is not so proud or arrogant to not admit when he may be wrong.

Link to the entire short chapter is here, if anyone else is interested ....

When asked if the two men knew each other, Savage claimed they had never met.

“Off the cuff, no, I don’t think so,” he said.

William Tyrrell Inquest: Neighbour Has No Idea Why He's Been Called To Testify
'off the cuff'? Yet his name has been bandied about in MSM for the last four years or so...a local man of his own age regarding something that happened in his own street?? I think he would know if he knew him by now. He also has no idea why he has been called to testify? I wonder what the inquest will show here.

Insp Jubelin's cases

Bowraville murders: Three Aboriginal people were killed in 1990 and 1991 in Bowraville New South Wales. The prime suspect, a local labourer, was charged and tried twice - in 1994 and 2006 - but was acquitted both times.

Terry Falconer: Sydney drug dealer murdered by Anthony Perish in 2001.

Mathew Leveson: The 20-year-old was last seen leaving a Sydney nightclub on 23 September 2007.

His car was found but his body was not. In August 2008, Leveson's boyfriend, Michael Atkins, was acquitted of manslaughter.

Michelle Leng: Assaulted and murdered by her uncle, Derek Barrett, in western Sydney in 2016.

Mr Jubelin was taken off the case in March after he was accused of secretly recording a suspect without permission or a warrant.

He was also accused of bullying staff - but he has strongly denied any wrongdoing.

Jubelin was last Friday charged with four offences under the Surveillance Devices Act.

NSW Police said professional standards began investigating the 57-year-old's conduct in 2018 following a number of complaints.

'Those inquiries disclosed a number of recordings allegedly made at locations in Parramatta and Kendall in NSW,' a police statement said.

A statement issued by Jubelin's lawyer Margaret Cunneen SC said it was understood the charges related to 'recordings made during the execution of Inspector Jubelin's duties'.

'Detective Inspector Jubelin denies any wrongdoing whatsoever and will strongly defend the charges against him,' she said.

Mr Savage appears as a kind elderly man in this video, doesn't he? Not that kind elderly appearing men have not been involved in child exploitation of various kinds.

I am very interested to know what he was doing between 10:30-11:30am on the morning that William disappeared. Was he outside or inside during that time. What time his usual morning walk was. If anyone else was at his home at the time. What the loud/not loud radio questions were about. What the questions about what he was wearing were relating to.

Seems that the questions were more probing than if he had just witnessed something that morning.

Going by this article his son Sean may have been there and then don't forget his bro in law rocked up that morning as well

From his house directly opposite William’s grandmother’s former home, an elderly man named Paul (surname withheld for privacy reasons) and his son, Sean, have watched long-time friends and neighbours slowly drift away from Benaroon Drive.
“A lot of them have moved,” he says. “One bloke left because he felt intimidated by the police. He had a few problems. He wasn’t a crook or a bad bloke, just a bit of a loner.

Brother in law arrived while the search by locals was underway/forming .... must have been after 11:30am, I think. As Mr Savage was standing outside with locals. So, by then they had been able to get his attention and he was ready/getting ready to join the search.

Newton told the court he arrived in Benaroon Drive to see Savage standing in his driveway with a group of locals.
He was asked about the initial conversation he had with Savage upon arrival, when he learned there was a “little fella” missing.
“He was concerned...he was very worried,” he said of Savage.
The two men then participated in line searches with other locals in the bushland behind the properties.

This is from an article published 03 January 2015, quoting Superintendent Paul Fehon, who was reported to be "lead investigator" and (later in the article) "one of the leading investigators":

"Everyone involved in the case and even those not involved still remain a possibility as having something to do with what has occurred."

So, presumably, IMO, it was only after that time (more than 3 months after William went missing) that police started eliminating anyone from the investigation.

The court heard Mr Newton arrived in Benaroon Drive around 1pm the day William went missing. He tells the court he noticed his brother-in-law Paul standing on the street with a group of locals. @10Daily @10NewsFirst
