The "Nowhere Child: Missing William Tyrrell" podcast, episode 1, starts with audio from a news video - which I recognised, because I've been meaning to post the video: I think it might show Benaroon Drive neighbour PS walking in a group of searchers on the day William went missing.

"Missing child Kendall", YouTube

At 0:07, look for the man who appears in the middle of the frame, back to the camera, wearing a black-and-white check shirt and black trousers. He walks with the other searchers up the hill towards the fire trail, and briefly turns to look back towards the SES man near the camera.

The video was in the article "Child missing at Kendall", Port Macquarie News, which is dated 12 Sep 2014 (updated at 6am the next day), so presumably the video was filmed on Day 1 of the search.

The front door opens: “Sorry everything’s so ****.” That’s William Tyrrell’s grandmother speaking. She’s laughing as she says it, because what she means is, her son, who is William’s father, has been painting the house.

It had been a faded yellow. But now it’s turning bright white, and that has made her happy, although it’s not really to do with the paint.

“Do you think it means he’s getting better?” she whispers.................................

William’s story starts 10 years ago, when his father met a girl. In 2010, they had a daughter. Three months later, that child — a girl called Lindsay in court documents — was taken into state care. What was the issue?

Violence. It wasn’t directed at the child. Lindsay’s mother went to a party. It got out of hand. Police got called. She spat at police. She was aggressive. She has mental health problems, and is addicted to drugs. She lashed out, in a way that made officers feel unsafe.

They decided Lindsay was “at risk of harm” — that’s a formal categorisation — and handed her to the NSW Department of Family and Community Services ...........

The mother got pregnant again, this time with William. He was born on June 26, 2011, and when he was nine months old the department came for him too. The couple had told police they were fighting all the time and taking drugs. FACS told them they shouldn’t live together. The relationship was too volatile. If they kept up with the romance — and truly, they were like magnets, unable to stop screaming at each other, and being together — they were at risk of losing their son.
They stayed together. They lost their son.
William’s father didn’t give up so easily this time. He took off with him, hiding out in a granny flat for close to seven weeks. It was a crazy thing to do, and he explains his reasoning like it’s the most obvious thing in the world: “I didn’t want them to take William. He was my son.”
Police tracked the family down. William’s father was arrested, and William went into foster care..............................................

Speaking of him:

Paedophile to testify at William Tyrrell inquest

EXCLUSIVE

A convicted paedophile, two mystery women and an unnamed man considered a person of interest will give evidence at the upcoming inquest of missing boy William Tyrrell.

A draft witness list for next month’s inquest, obtained exclusively by news.com.au, includes convicted child sex offender Anthony Jones, his ex-wife Debbie Gardoll and other relatives.

Jones has an extensive criminal history, including convictions for assaulting children and women, escaping from police custody, theft and drug possession.

He denies any involvement in William’s disappearance.

The salt of the earth shall be heard

So Sorry. .. that's not my place ..r

I do applaud the wholesome & all encompassing approach of the Hearing. .
More so, I hope & pray for answers for William to be located & supported accordingly .

BBM - This is different to what we've heard before.

I'm troubled by this, it seems that it's also become a 'blame game' for the BGM and BD. I don't think it's right or fair to air the fact she has MH problems or that she is addicted to drugs.

Also from the same article:

His relationship with his girlfriend ended, and the two youngest children were removed from her care last year.

Is this all necessary to tell the story of William disappearing?

Doesn't seem that BM will be taking part in this podcast.

Agree. sleep. Why drag up all of the dirt again? Let them be. Unless there's an ulterior motif . IMO.

What? Such as abrogation of all responsibility for William (and his sister) being placed in out-of-home care? Instead implying it was due to a difference in socioeconomic status between the BD and BGM and the FP’s, and an unfit BM? Surely not.

I very much doubt they can or would use that money. They seem determined to find William and this is their avenue to do it. Beside that, the Morcombes have the money.

They actually didn't 'lawyer up post Jubelin", they had their legal rep at the Directions Hearing in Dec 18. Jubelin wasn't taken off the case until March 19, so not related at all.

Detective Chief Inspector Gary Jubelin, who commanded dozens of officers on Strikeforce Roseann for four years, was taken off the Tyrrell case in March while he was investigated over allegations of misconduct.

High profile NSW police detective Gary Jubelin resigns during misconduct investigations

William’s foster parents, who cannot be identified, sat with Chief Inspector Jubelin in court and were represented by high-profile barrister Gail Furness.

So do you think they it's a donation to the Morcombe Foundation? They are a 'charity partner' so it could be a donation, I took it to mean that the Morcombe Foundation is the adminsitor of the money and they are still free to do what they want with it.

Okay, so not lawyering up, then what?

"When William’s disappearance was referred to the NSW State Coroner, those behind the campaign felt there would be no further need to raise funds to cover campaign expenses. As a result, on 14 January 2019, the donate button was removed from William’s website. However, following the recent changes to the police investigation in May 2019, the donate button was reintroduced to William’s website. The balance of funds held by our former charity partner was transferred to our new charity partner, the Daniel Morcombe Foundation”

I don't understand why when the case was referred to the Coroner they thought they would no longer need to raise funds? Was it because at that time, Jubelin was still on the case so they believed there was someone actually investigating the case? Now he's not, they need the donations to keep pushing the case?

WTF!!! So she had an altercation with the police at a party 10 years ago, 3 months after giving birth and the result of that was that her child was taken from her?!! The police took the child and handed her to FaCs?!

It sounded implausible to me too, or a lot missing. I can't access the article--does Caroline say how she confirmed these things? Or is it too much to expect a journalist to do some research in addition to speaking to a united mother and son?

I hope there is a great deal missing because if there isn't, that is shocking to me.

Yes, where were BD and BGM then? Wouldn’t they have been able to provide alternative care to FaCS?

Yes a nice stable home free of drugs and violence.

BBM. Not having been able to read it, I'm confused. His relationship with his girlfriend ended when? Is this part of getting us to feel sorry for him? Or, does it mean, the journalist has to tell it from b-dad's point of view, or she wouldn't get the story, but here's a hint that there's a common factor in some women having their kids removed, which is b-dad.

It doesn't say when their relationship ended, but IMO it was well after William disappeared and prior to the other 2 children being removed.

Yes, it seems that mentioning about the BM's situation is meant to garner sympathy to me.

I don't remember but didn't the BM say in her interview on Sunday Night that the DV was both ways? Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Yes, seeing as that time was when BD and BGM were presumably working, and way before he had an ice addiction and her 30 year relationship was rocked to the core because William disappeared.

It might be timely to revisit BM’s side of the story:

My William

A few differences.
Yeah KT's wish for ‘better support for women with domestic violence so they can leave’ for one.

It was good to hear Bruce Morcombe speak again. He seems like a really compassionate man. Hopefully, he will be able to advocate for not only William’s FP but his BM, as well as his BD and BGM if they’re willing. It would be wonderful to see them on the same side, fighting against the person who took William.

I can’t understand how an article that’s slanderous is allowed (to be published in the media) ? No information they’ve selectively provided explains anything other than highlighting their toxic personalities.
